I just HAD to share:

Some of you (after reading my trippie from last year) will know WHO I'm talking about....I have just been told that a certain LIP-PIERCING person will NOT be staying it AKV because they DIDN'T LIKE AKL! Well, they certainly liked the FREE ROOM AND FOOD that was given them...... [...okay, rant over....]

How is the pool bar? Are there any specialty drinks? We usually stay at BCV or OKW (Turtle Krawl YUM!), both of which have specialty drinks that I LOVE! This February I will be staying at AKV and I will def be needing some poolside libations!

My personal favorites at the pool bar are Nahtazu and Victoria Falls Mist--both sweet and delicious.

Oooo good! There are no specialty drinks listed on the allearsnet menu and I got freaked out! I enjoy laying by the pool in the sun with a fruity rum drink in my hand much more than waiting online 3 hours for a 3 min ride...and if I couldn't get that I was going to cry!

Becoming a AKL junkie. I'm on page 30 now. Maybe by July 2nd when I go to AKV studio for 13 days, I will have read all this. Ms. Planner is my name and plannen is my game, oh yeh. I was wondering if there is Mousekeeping at AKV? I thought I read somewhere that there was for a fee. Thanks,

The answer is, it depends:

If you're staying at AKV on "points"...there is NO daily mousekeeping. If your stay is 7 days, or less, you'll get a "trash and towel", which is exactly what it sounds like, on day 4. If it's longer than 7 days, you'll get a full cleaning on day 4, and trash and towel on day 7. You CAN pay a fee (I can't remember exactly what it is..but if you want to know it I can look it up) to get daily mousekeeping. There's also an "extra towel pack" you can pay for, too.

If you're staying at AKV by booking a room directly through Disney....daily mousekeeping IS included.

Neither is available off the pool bar menu, or Victoria falls bar menu, any more.

If you're LUCKY, you'll get one of the "old" bartenders, and they can make them for you on request. But the bar menus have been completely standardized across all of WDW and the "unique" cocktails are slowly fading from existence. Sad, but true.

These drinks were not on the menu when I visited in Dec. 2005. I asked the bartender and he had a book which contained drink recipes. I hope they keep that book in a safe place.
