pilferk, awesome pictures! :thumbsup2

Okay, so to ADD to my torment of late (me talking to DH EVERYDAY about how much I want to go back to WDW) tonight he checks the mail and says "I'm hiding something, it will only add to your pain."

40% OFF CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH!!!!

I noted that it is good for many dates, all year long in '08 and just looked at him....he said "We'd have to skip New York" (we are planning to go see some of my friends in NYC in May again this year-I CANNOT miss NYC! I miss it soooo much-but just a TEENSY bit more than WDW).

"Noooo!" I replied.

A TV show he wanted to watch was about to start so I said we'd chat about it later, and followed it up with "I have until March 31 to convince you we can afford both trips..." LOL

Found a great rate in '08, now I just gotta find the BUCKS! :scared:

One question for ya'll....IF the come out with free dining again in Sept. can I use this 40% off code AND free dining? Or just one or the other? If both, I truly believe I can convince DH. hee hee!

I believe there was a request for an updated pic of the youngest AKL fan, Kimmar? You don't have to ask me twice! Here he is!

Awwww, what a cutie Henry is!!! :cloud9:

To answer your question about the code & free dining, you'd have to choose one or the other - discounts can't be stacked. :sad1:

What I would suggest is that you remind your dear hubby that the reservation only requires a one night deposit (or $200 if a package) and that a room-only ressie can be canceled up to 6 days of arrival date. That might help sway him! pixiedust:

Thanks - My husband (who goes along for the ride, but really doesn't "get it") has my 4 year old brainwashed now - "Mommy, I want to go back when I'm 10" Uh - don't think so. That's a little too long.
I'm liking the way "Food and Wine in '09" sounds... although it's pretty far away. SIGH...

....sounds like WE need to start up a "WDW Orphans" club.....:teeth: [...I swear, the next time that I ever go back to WDW, it'll either be BY MYSELF or with ANOTHER FAMILY!]

Sounds good to me. Hey - I'm local - I'll meet you on the turnpike and we'll just go and leave the haters home!

Thank you! :) He is SUCH a good baby too! We have it easy compared to what I read...he sleeps almost 12 hours every night!!

Anyway, that is VERY sad to hear about no discount stacking. :sad2: I would have to figure out which would be a better deal...

BUT, that is very GOOD news about the deposit! I had no idea! I'm still a newbie at all this planning. We paid full price, didn't even THINK to look for discounts when I planned the honeymoon-but probably wouldn't have had time to do it anyway if I had known about the codes and all that!

And speaking of swaaaaaaaying him....he just came upstairs and said "So, are you planning our trip?"

"What? To Disney World?"

"Yea."

"No......"

"Why not?"

"Well, I certainly will!"

So maybe it won't take much convincing at all! :woohoo: We just have to really figure it out if we can afford both trips! Last night in bed he said "We can eat graham crackers and cheese all week in the hotel room."

Speaking of your last trip...since I haven't been on here in AGES, did you write a TR? I like reading 'em and getting tips from you WDW veterans! I'm still a newbie!!!

And you should just grab some girlfriends and head down there, leave the haters at home!!! ;)

Pilferk ~ Thanks for the Pics!!! Love them - I can hardly wait to get back - 15 days!!!!

Oh, he is so cute!!! :)

Dining is going to cost you, between the two of you, about 75.98 per day. The baby is "free" but doesn't get his own food, per se....he eats free at any buffets and can share off you plate.

So, ultimately, you'd want your 40% to be more than that. If you're looking at an AKL, Savannah view room, in "value" season when free dining is offered (provided the code would be good for that), you'd be saving about $116 per day ($290 x .40 = $116).

Seems like the 40% off would be the better deal. The "break even" for free dining to be the better discount would seem to be 3 adults, or 2 adults and 4 kids (impossible with room occupany at AKL, I think). In other words, anything beyond those numbers seems to make dining the better discount.
