Hi everyone, We leave in 2 days!

Its our first trip "Home" DVC Savanna View. I can't wait.

Did anyone do the tours they have at the hotel. Do you need to sign up for them? If so where? Are they worth the time?

Merry Disney Eve !!!!!!! party: party: party: party: party: My family and I will be at the AKL tomorrow. I'll be back in a week with a trip report and pictures.

To all of you heading to AKL (or the Dolphin, Kimmar!) in the next week or 2, have a wonderful vacation! I was there last Christmas so I know how beautiful it will be! :cloud9: Those of us left behind really do want to hear about your trips when you return home - and lots of pictures, please! :santa:

Our current plan is to upload the highlights, here, each day....upload a bunch more to the live trip report we're going to do....and provide a link to our public photobucket album where the rest will be.

FYI, on the last trip, my wife took well over 1000 photos (granted the trip was a little longer than this one)....I took another 200 or so. So be careful what you ask for when you ask for LOTS of pictures.

;)

Malibelle, have a great trip!

I have only been on the culinary tour which is great. You don't need to sign up, just be at the meeting point five minutes before the tour starts. There is an activity board in the lobby where you can check the times.

In addition to the free tours there are two safari tours that used to be available for concierge guests only and which cost quite some money. For those you need to sign up in advance. But I think that's not the ones you are talking about??

Great, thanks! I definitly want to do the culinary tour. I have to put that on the list.

Do you have an ADR for Boma? :cloud9: I'd suggest doing the culinary tour (which is offered at either 3:45 or 4pm daily) the day of your ADR. You'll have a head start on many other diners - already knowing where all the goodies are!! ;)

We are only eating there for breakfast. NO Boma Dinner this time.

The breakfast @ Boma is very good. :thumbsup2 If you do the culinary tour this trip, my guess is you'll book dinner at either Boma or Jiko (or both!) NEXT trip! ;)

Have a magical vacation! pixiedust:

Isn't that crazy to come back to our winter weather!:scared1: We had the same thing when we got home, my husband had quite the clean-up because we had snow, freezing rain, and more snow. And then it snowed again 2 days later. This weekend we received another 5 inches! There's no doubt that we will have a white Christmas!;) Can't wait to see your pics!

Ugh - yes it was awful! I do love a white Christmas, but would have liked to ease back into the cold!

....welcome back! I, for one, can't wait for that 'trippie' and LOTS and LOTS of pix.....

....sooooo, it was HOT there?? Hope that the great weather holds up for next week....."

I don't know if I did the multi-quote thingy right - but to answer your question - the weather was fantastic! :thumbsup2 It was 80 degrees and sunny every day - no rain. Nights were warm too - we wore shorts and t-shirts at night and weren't even chilly. On Saturday it was definitely hotter and more humid and there were a couple of quick downpours. The weather reports down there were predicting cooler weather for this week - high 60's and low 70's. I hope you get some nice weather too!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

Entertainment during our Boma breakfast - I would DEFINITELY recommend this buffet - it's fantastic!

Love this carving in the rock

Can you find the hidden giraffe?

Our last day - I got up at 6am to watch the animals because I felt like I just hadn't had enough time to do it. Went to the Arusha Rock - but didn't see anything. I walked all the way to the end of Kudu trail out on a stairwell and found this group:

Then an ostrich started chasing the giraffes - it was a riot! I got some of it on video and I will try to post it. Those of you heading out this week - have a great time! :woohoo:

Does anyone know how to make the pictures smaller so they don't make the text run off the page? :confused3 Sorry about that!

Oh yeah - as far as construction goes - we didn't hear or see any of it except when my son and I took a walk one morning and looked out at the new building being built. I wouldn't have even known it was happening if I didn't go looking for it. :thumbsup2

I download mine to photobucket and they limit your size, and then I post in my report. Not sure if that's the route you want to go, but that's what I do. Anyone else?

Ditto! Photobucket is also the way I store and share pictures. :thumbsup2 (I'll admit, I had to have DD14's help starting out, but now I'm almost "proficient"!!)
