So, I've got a lot of planning to do and I have what, 2 weeks.......... I better get busy!!! Kimmar, we like the fact that Wilderness is so close to MK, I mean we love the lodge, but are thinking of trying out something else! I'm not sure yet! Does the WL have ceiling fans?? I love that about the lodge!!

Unfortunately, the pool will be closed January 29 to March 2 so it might not be open.

WL is nice but our heart is at AKL and we'll never go back to WL.

The WL rooms do have ceiling fans.

I've heard it rumored that the pool near the Villas at the WL will be open, but the main pool, hot tubs, and kiddie pool will be closed. As the pool by the Villas isn't that big, you probably won't want to stay here if you want good pool time. I haven't heard (have a reservation there, myself), but I'm doubtful that they will allow WL guests to go to another resort's pool. CRO is being very forthcoming about the pool being closed when booking.

It is a tough decision. We AKL, but I've been open to giving WL another chance (we unfortunately got really sick when we stayed there in Nov. 05, so didn't get to enjoy it). I like the idea of the newly renovated rooms, being close to the MK, etc.

But I keep being drawn back to the AKL - it is just a special place. We're in a std. view room at WL right now with an AP rate, but if I were a betting woman, if a std. room at AKL comes open, I'll probably be switching. We're watching our $$ this trip.

Good luck with your decision - the good news is, the AKL will alway be there (as I keep repeating to myself!).

OK, I'm a bit behind catching up with this thread. But I strongly agree that Don's the greatest CM. On our recent trip, we were able to arrange to see him even though the IPO is separate from the concierge lounge to personally say thanks for his help.

Thanks for the tip! Don will be the one I hope to speak with! I am thinking of bringing some "local flavor" food offerings to share with the CMs that make our trip special. I know I cannot tip money to the IPO or onsite concierge but I would love for them to know how special they make our trip!! We didn't do this last time we stayed at the Poly and I wish we would have. So...that's in my list of things to do this time!

In defense OF MYSELF, I don't want anyone thinking that AKL is NOT my fav! Cuz it is! But, yes, better check WL out a bit more carefully because there is lots of refurbishment going on there. Lots of scaffolding, etc. We ate at Artist Point about a month ago, and they are doing lots of work.

My heart still belongs to the hotel at the end of Osceola Parkway!

Pools - I think you will be able to use the one at CR and possibly elsewhere plus the WL Villa pool will be open. Pretty small and no slide. Bummer on the WL pool - it is a nice one (not as good as AKL though - can you tell we are AKL lovers???)

WL is pretty and you will be happy you tried it once. But, I bet your next trip is back to AKL. Once an AKL lover, always an AKL lover, in my opinion.

Hey Wendy. How are things going. How are the wedding plans coming along? My sister would really like to try WL on our next trip together so if you stay there you will have to give out a full report! When are your trip dates? I will be there Feb 3-11.

Hey Lisa!!!! How is the "new" puppy, big I bet!!! Darn it girl, we will be there from Jan. 28th till the 2nd of Feb. for my b-day again!!!! We will just miss you. It's almost the exact dates as last year! I do know that we will not go back this Sept. though, it was too crowded for me!!! LOL

Actually, my DS got married already!!! He actually joined the AF and just finished training, so they wanted to get married before he left. Thanks for asking ~ I'm officially a maw in law now!!! LOL

Anyway, so are your mom and sister making this trip? OH, I've got so much to do!!! LOL You know deciding where to eat for a week is so exhausting..........

I tried to convince DFi to stay WL for our Disneymoon but he won't have it and only want AKL. We fell in love with it also the first time for the same reasons...but we are thinking of trying Concierge so we will have to request Don if we do!
