So, you were allowed to book the Sunrise Safari as a non-concierge guest because you were on the Premiere Plan? Is that correct?
Is that the only way non-concierge guests can do the Sunrise or Sunset safaris?

...this is DEFINITELY something new, because it was never an option for non-concierge guests, regardless of a 'meal plan'.....I am thinking that there was a very low sign-up for the Sunrise or Sunset Safari's and, rather than losing out on all that $$, they offered it to AKL guests...but, I could be wrong...I will try to find out from my 'source'....

She was on the Platinum plan, if that makes a difference.

We are on the Platinum plan for our trip in December, there is no charge for the Sunrise Safari for the 4 of us, it's included in the unlimited recreation.

We are staying concierge though, so I can't answer the question whether we would have been permitted to take the tour if we had not been.

and to make this post #100 a few things i forgot, we built in plenty of time to relax at the resort and sleep in, the arcade was nice, the marketplace was a great shop and we spent a good deal of money there and as a side note to that if you want to send purchases to your home from disney which we sent a lot the shipping is unbelievably cheap(we shipped about a $1000 worth of stuff for $15 and change)they must be items purchased from disney,we did the mnsshp it was our first hard tiket event and enjoyed it and thought they handled everything well, and the last thing i can think of mentioning at this time is the towel animals...lots and lots of towel animals, when michael reassigned us to the savannah room within a half hour a mousekeeper bought up about 4 or 5 towel animals and everyday thereafter we got new ones in addition to the ones we had and mousekeeping has neat way of arranging the kids stuffed animals everyday, hopefully in a few days we can get some pictures posted as we both have to go back to work so i hope they can wait a few days, and i would also like to figuire out how to do a trip report so i can post our experinces as well as copy them for our own use in the future, ok i think i used enough space good night to all

Hi DM ~~ Glad to hear you enjoyed it and had such a wonderful time!!!

lol kimmar, you are no where near as bad as someone of them writing trips for 2005, now.

All though I love reading all of them. :goodvibes

...actually, I do...New Jersey holds a statewide NJ Teachers' Convention in Atlantic City every year, usually the 2nd Thursday and Friday of November....so, since, the kids are off from school (a 4-day weekend) many head 'down' to WDW.....

Thanks - kimmar067 - you are a font of information!

Any one seen this-
List of AKL animals on the savannas - listed by savannas?
I saw it once - did not mark it - and now can't remember where.

hi to all, in reply to my thoughts on the mnsshp we loved it, it was our first hard ticket event we ever attended, while i dont have many tips to offer i would say that we sat right in front of the castle for the fireworks and found it obstructed the view of most of the fireworks, we still enjoyed the show it was great but maybe we would chose another seat next time, i dont know about costumes being sold at disney itself as we shipped ours up in advance, in response to the rooms while we payed for a pool view and ended up getting a great savannah view room we almost didnt get a savannah view except that we went back downstairs around 11 or 12 at night and then got moved having already been assigned a pool room which we didnt like the obstructed view much at all, i agree with viki about believing that there is a large portion of pool room views that are obstructed and next time i return to akl and i certaintly will i will book a savannah view right from the start even with the extra expense it incures becuase in my opinion you just cant beat it,and iwishfordisney i am no doubt sending disney a letter about the great service michael provided he made our vacation outstanding, hope everybody going soon has a wonderfull time

I was going to post this question in the main page for the Disney Resorts thread but I figured I would post it here and ask the AKL experts directly.

We will be staying at the AKL and I was wondering how late does Mara stay open?

We will be going to MGM and I would like to stay for Fantasmic and then return to the hotel and have dinner at Mara.

Will it still be open? If not, are there other dining options at AKL that will still be available?

Thanks

Okay - thanks for the advice on the room request - yesterday I was able to change our ressies to AKL and requested Zebra/Arusha. I'm so excited! Last time we stayed at AKL was 4 years ago w/a standard room, absolutely fell in love with the resort and now we're going back! :woohoo: We've planned an non-park day to stay at AKL...32 days to go!!
