Looks like you had a fantastic time :) Happy birthday :cheer2:

This is a random question, but there are definitely some Disney experts here, so I thought I'd ask...

My aunt lives outside Orlando, and she's feeling blue this holiday. I'd love to have a gingerbread house from the Grand Floridian sent to her. Do you know any way to do this? (like, do the Disney florist people do deliveries?) If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thanks so much.

...and it was magical as always!

Here's a one-paragraph report...then it's get-ready for-Christmas and edit-my-250-digital-photos time!

Cass might disagree (I haven't checked to see if she has reported in...I was so hoping that I'd bump into her while there but no luck), but for our tastes the weather from Sat eve-Thurs a.m was GLORIOUS (one of the absolute highlights). Highs near 80 but with a breeze and low-to-moderate humidity, sunny with beautiful Florida cumulus clouds mixed in, terrific sunrises and sunsets, and balmy evenings in the 60s!!! As for the AKL, we knew we'd like it, but we loved it (it's now in my top 3 with WL and Poly). I'll tell you more later, but we had a room (2020, Giraffe Trail) that when I describe will have you wondering why I didn't ask for another one, but it was PERFECT for us! The worst part of the trip was the crowds...at summer levels even Sat thru Tues (which surprised us), then INSANE after that!

I'm really excited to edit my pics...I know I have some great ones both inside and outside AKL and all around WDW (I tried to take pics that were different from what I'd seen before in my many hours of searching). I'll definitely post a few in this thread before Christmas, but my plan is to update an old website with all my trip pics once I'm done editing.

Anyway, happy holidays everyone, and thanks for all your good advice and online camraderie!

Hi TiggerAllie! Well, Disney Florist does deliver...but I think they are limited to the LBV area. Check online at Disneyflorist.com---our daughter ordered a fruit basket for us.

Other than that, I know there's at least one service (the name escapes me) that will shop the parks for you, but then they mail what they get.

What a great gift idea...I hope you can figure out a way to get it to her. We brought home a shingle for my son-in-law (as well as a 5-pound holiday-decorated Mickey Rice Krispie treat from the Main St. bakery...what a hoot!)

Hi Accu-weather Duck :) wasn't it just gorgeous? we loved the weather, it only rained a bit on the 14th, every other day was perfect.

We had light crowds and any parks we went to, I was very impressed, the longest stand by waits were 20 minutes - except for Splash Mountain, EE and TT. I guess you were going to the wrong parks on the wrong day. We avoided anything with EMH's

Glad you liked AKL :)

Tiggerallie - try http://www.memoriesbysarah.com/index.html

Write Sarah and ask if she will pick up a ginger bread house and deliver it for you.

I am glad you enjoyed the Akl and that your vacation was great to Accu-weather Duck! :)

Lol Cass no snacks for you also on the Platinum plan. Happened to me to :rotfl:

Oh, we got the snacks alright - we need our snackies. It was a pain in the butt to keep receipts and get things credited back though.

Yea, i cant remember what did about the snacks. I remember i was charged for the facial but i got it taken off.

AKL is my favorite resort! :yay: I can't wait to go in April again! Boma is on of my favorite restaurants. I also love the animals.

We had breakfast at Boma on our last morning. I still had tons of meal credits so I asked Albert our waiter, if I could treat the family of 4 at the next table to their breakfast.

He said no problem and brought me their bill to sign and then he went and told them their breakfast was free. You should have seen their faces, they were stunned. The came and thanked us and it was so much fun :goodvibes

Albert told us the Jungle Juice is made by coca cola/minute made. A special recipe made for AKL and supplied to them exclusively.

After Boma we went to Mara and spoke with a cashier who let us treat the next family in line to breakfast, it was so cool. :teeth:

....:sad1: that was sooo awesome; you really touched my heart....

We tried it at lunch too but Wolfgang Puck's said no :( I guess because they are not really a Disney restaurant.

We're back too and it the weather really was stunning... :sunny: , our arrival day-it looked dicey....but after that it was awesome all the way through our departure on the 21st....

AKL is as stunning as everyone claims, the theming , the kids activities, the animals, the food-Breakfast and Dinner at Boma-Yummy :teeth: Will be writing trip reports but not today as I'm holiday entertaining tonight...AHHHH-what was I thinking... :crazy2: Bring on the coffee :coffee: ....

(oh and by the way DH and I have already decided to do a shorter vaca (5 days, 4 nights) next year including the inlaws but at the WL since that is more to their tastes and I know we have a lot of WL fans here as well so I'll be needing your help... :confused3

Anyhow Happiest of Holidays and I look forward to reading Cass and Ronald's trip reports and will also be writing my own soon.... :wave2:

Cass--
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah was wonderful!!! She happened to be going to Disney to make deliveries and then driving to the Sanford airport, and my aunt's house was on the way. She wasn't sure if she was going to have time to do it, but God must have been smiling on us because her deliveries went faster than expected and the line at GF was short. She delivered it right to my aunt's door--in less than 2 hours from when I called her! (and the price was *totally* reasonable).

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her!!

Thanks so much for helping me spread some Christmas cheer. :santa:
:) :cool1:
