Wet carpet, no clock, no cups, dirty towels in the bathroom. I remember now why I haven't stayed at POR in 15 years. It will probably be another 15 before I go back. If I would have been staying longer I would have definitely gone to management. But we basically slept and left. Very glad to be here at AKL now.

Such a shame about POR. We used to stay here a lot many years ago. We returned to POFQ last year for a few nights and were really disappointed. Glad you're settled in at AKL and looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Only a handful of CL lounges offer a view. GF RPC overlooks the gorgeous lobby, CR overlooks MK, Poly has the beach and Cinderella's castle in the distance, and AKL has their gorgeous lobby. How's this for a snack time view:

I agree about POR. We gave it another try last year and we were not happy. Did a split and couldn't wait to get to BWI.

Not at all. There really aren't many people in the lobby right now. Plus the ceilings are so huge and the lobby so massive the sound just gets sucked away.

And it's really not a category issue. I stay in value and moderate resorts all the time. For some reason POR just isn't for me. But that's why I always tell people to try them for yourself and find what works best.

So true. I stayed at All Star Movies twice now with my dd's cheer team and much prefer that resort over POR.

Loving your AKL photos. We really enjoy the views from the lounge, and those house-made granola bars are wonderful! Enjoy the afternoon scones - I love tea time at AKL. <3 It hasn't even been a week since we left the GF and I really miss those scones.

Very impressed with the afternoon snack selection. That beats what was available each afternoon at GF RPC last month, frankly! AKL CL is on the bucket list, this TR might just bump it to the top! Thanks as always for posting so many detailed pics!

I can confirm they no longer offer children's food. No pb&j, no chicken nuggets, etc. They have two hot items, a stew and a falafel. Also various crudités, hummus, cheeses, etc.
