staying at jambo house 2 bedroom savannah any room recommendations to help me out ? what should i ask for

Currently Jambo has limited services such as the pool is open. During the Christmas holiday season Mara is also open but unknown if that will continue thereafter.

My recommendation is more one for a normal time rather than under current conditions (under which I would not recommend staying at Jambo at all). My usual request for a Jambo savanna view room is one overlooking Arusha savanna (in the middle of the building) along Zebra Trail (the left side of the u-shaped building), away from the lobby. Arusha is an excellent savanna and the rooms that meet my requests have good views, are on the side of the building where the pool, store and restaurants are, thus providing fairly easy access, and the rooms face west, avoiding blinding sun coming through the windows and balcony doors in the morning, seeing pleasant sunsets in the evening, and having shade on the balcony until the latter part of the afternoon.

I avoid a near the lobby request or asking for near transportation (the equal of a near lobby request), because most rooms meeting those requests face north and the views from them are not the best. Note, no matter what, you should make the requests through MS and not use the request page when doing online check-in. That page has very limited requests, including pointless ones like high floor (all DVC rooms at Jambo are on the fifth floor except club level which is on the sixth), and if you make requests through MS and then also make requests on that online page, your requests made through MS will be wiped out.

Why would you not recommend? I have not stayed in Jambo in forever, but have a trip booked in a month.
I prefer Jambo over Kidani simply because I love large lobbies. I know its a trivial thing, but thats what I like.

I'm not the PP poster you questioned, but we are checking into Jambo for 3 nights on Monday. Currently, just about NOTHING is open at Jambo except the pool. No Boma, no Jiko, no Mara (after 1/2)- so basically no food. The gift shop is closed, the lounge is closed. The pool is open, and maybe the pool bar... also not sure about the workout room. So right now Jambo is pretty much a ghost town; I think only the DVC rooms on the 5th and 6th floor are being rented out.
