Is it true that these don't have an island? I thought they were just 3ft shorter? It's tough to find info on these type rooms. Thanks everyone!

There was an island in the 1 bedroom value we stayed in last March ;)

Do you have any pics? Did it seem
Much smaller that a regular 1 bedroom?

If I recall correctly, there are some Value 1BRs that do not have the island. Some 1BRs and studios in Jambo House have the connecting door in the living area rather than the entryway. In non-Value rooms they can just move the furniture around as needed to leave space around that doorway but with the Value rooms being 3 feet shorter, there is no wiggle room.

The furniture affected in the 1BRs with that door configuration are the dining table and chairs. Someone posted pictures quite a while ago that showed a Value 1BR with the table and chairs in the kitchen area rather than in their usual spot, leaving no room for an island. I don't know if all Value 1BRs with the connecting door in the living area are this way but I suspect they are.

AKV 1-bedroom approximate sizes:
Jambo House 1-bed Value: 629 sq ft
Jambo House 1-bed non-Value: 710 sq ft
Kidani Village 1-bedroom: 807 sq ft.

I am glad you asked this question about AKV 1bd values. It is hard to find any pics or info on them.

We stayed in 1 for 5 nights in Sept and I cannot remember! I am pretty sure we did not have one but I can't say for sure.

They are smaller but such a great points savings it was just perfect for our family of 4.

I finally had a chance to look up the information I have from the floor plans for these rooms. There are ten Value 1BRs. Four have the connecting door in the entryway: 5004, 5024, 5116, 5129. Six have the connecting door in the living area: 5010 (HA), 5030, 5110, 5130, 5135, 5136.

Based on room reports, not all of the rooms in Jambo House were built as shown in the floor plans so I can't be 100% certain that the list of rooms above is accurate. I do have reports on some of the rooms and two of those reports mention the lack of an island in the kitchen. In both cases, they are rooms with the connecting door in the living area.

Room 5010 (HA room): No center island in the kitchen; Dining table is next to the window and has 4 chairs instead of a padded bench seat and 2 chairs;

Room 5110: Dining table in kitchen area. No kitchen island.

As I posted earlier, I suspect that all of Value 1BRs with the connecting door in the living area will not have an island in the kitchen because of the need to move the dining table away from the connecting door and into the kitchen area.

Just looked back at my pictures and my value 1 bdrm had and island I just don't know what room # it was. I am stil searching for that info. But it also had a savanna view. Loved it! Unfortunately our 1 bdrm concierge level did not have an island as it was HA. That was kind of a bummer, but there was only 2 of us and we didn't really cook much.

Are these hard to get at 7 months out?? we are a family of five and would consider it for less points

These are very popular for the points savings. Also keep in mind that the value 1 bdrms do not have the sleeper chair, so not sure if you can book for 5?

right, occupancy for value 1BRs stops at 4.

can you request views in the values??
They stopped taking view requests a couple of years ago. I assume it was because most everyone was requesting a room facing the Sunset Savanna.

The good news is, very few of the Value rooms face the parking area so you have a good chance of getting a view of either the pool or the Sunset Savanna. However, since the Values are nearly always fully booked, someone will be in the parking lot view rooms. It's just the luck of the draw.
