Jambo at 7 months?

I understand you need an 11 month booking window for value and conceirge rooms. But what about standard and savanna view rooms in Jambo? If I were on the phone at 9am at the 7 month mark and my dates weren't during peak season. We like to travel in October.

Some have reported getting value at 7 months and even concierge once in a while. Those are two that are more unlikely at 7 months. For most times of year, including October, you should easily be able to get savanna view (80% of all rooms) and probably standard. Though standards are not a huge number, AKV has a different mind-set than other resorts. For example at BLT and BWV lower point standards go quickly because location not view is key. At AKV, most owners bought to get savanna view and there is no real skewed demand for standards. Of course, there are times of year when you can have issues with getting something at 7 months, e.g., holidays.

I would be very surprised if you could not get Jambo at 7 month mark in October. Yes it's Food & Wine time but that puts a high demand on BWC and BCV.
I got Jambo at 7 month mark (I called right at 9:00) for May.

I've gotten value units at 7 months. My next stay in a value room at Jambo is in July.

I've gotten a studio at Jambo at 7 months the last several Octobers (I love to go to AKV and chill for a few days after running around the F&W). Twice I got a value studio at 7 months, then once I had to waitlist for the value studio, but fortunately my waitlist came thru within days.

I was able to get Jambo Standard 1 bedroom at 7 months out for Aug 2010 without a problem.

I got a JH Savannah 1 bedroom villa this past Sept at 6 weeks out, and reserved a studio at JH for my sister next month at 2 months out with holding points that were going to expire.

I just rented points for a value studio at Jambo for October because I realized I'm not going to be able to buy DVC in time to secure that and frankly didn't want the pressure. When the DVC member called to make the ressie, she was told there were only 2 left for my week (mid Oct). And we haven't even hit the 7 month booking window. So you really lucked out! Do you think maybe it was someone else's cancellation?

We were able to get 1 bedrrom Jambo House savannah view at 7 months for 12/26-12/30/10 this year(switched from OKW). We had tried the previous year but were not able to get even after waitlisting. I think we were lucky because we did not include NYE this year. By the way, really loved it!

I do think it was a cancellation. It was a few months ahead of time. I was calling every few days just to find an open weekend somewhere. And then this one happened to open up We drive so it didn't matter what weekend it was.

Don't know if this helps you but I was able yesterday at 7 months to switch a 1br boardwalk to a 1 bed savanna at Kidani village. I was very pleased

Although I've never stayed there, I get the impression that savanna views at Kidani are easy to secure.

Did you check for availability at Jambo house? Or was Kidani your first choice?

Sorry I did not check availablity.

I did check there were no concierge.

TBH I wasn't expecting to be able to get it as it was Aug but I think schools in the US go back earlier than in UK

I just got a savannah view 4 month out a couple of days ago. It all depends on what is going on in the world.

Daughter was home from college, said she wanted to go right after school ends - called up and got a one bedroom savannah view.

In Jambo or Kidani?

I was able to book a 1 bedroom standard view at Jambo for January 24-31 at the 7 month mark. I could have tried calling back the next day for value because they told me a value was available beginning January 25 at the time I called. But I didn't want to have to do a split stay.

We fly to Florida Monday!
