Jakob's Pre Make-A-Wish Trip ( Big Give Photos 3/13/09)

Again I need to thank you each one of you that made something special for Jake and Hannah...We love each and every gift that was sent, and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU..

We had Jake's Send off Party last night, so I am just going thru some of the pictures to post them. Once again our family was blessed last night with amazing friends and family.

Also our wish granters are coming Wed night to bring our trip stuff...and we are so excitied. They were going to come tonight, but we had appts all afternoon in Boston, so it was going to be to late...so Wed night they will be here...

I still can not believe it is only 4 days away ( tomorrow that is)...when I think about this trip, I cry... Today was fun, cause at clinic his drs and the nurses were giving him high fives for his trip. His GI dr( he made this trip happen for Jake) asked him, " what is the first thing you are going to do when you get to Disney", Jake looked at hime and said " ohhh all I know is soon as I see that castle, I am going to cry, and than I am heading straight to the Haunted Mansion".... His Dr gave him a huge hug and told him to enjoy every min of this trip and that he wants to see ALL the pictures and everything when he gets back...( wonder if he is going to have time to go thru 1,000 plus photos...

Well, Jake's send off party pictures will be up soon...I hope you enjoy them!!!

Oh...What a special time! I am so glad that those doctors are rooting for him and so excited for his trip.

He is going to have so much fun.

PLEASE take lots of pictures and please come back and tell us stories. I have really grown to love me some Jake! He is so cool!!!! You guys have so much fun. I am so excited for you all.

Here is Jake the night before. We took Hannah out for her b-day and Jake was wearing one of his AWESOME Tower of Terror shirts, and he pretended his was dropping...

These pictures were from his party last night. Yes, his name is spelled with a K and not a C, but the wrappers were the BEST!! ( they felt bad, but we were not upset at all) ...we were blessed that everyone went out of their way to make this a special party for Jake and his friends. Two of my dear friends put this together for Jake. They played Disney games and got chances to win Webkins and other fun items, the kids all just had a blast.

What a fun party! I love the perfectly planned party scheme! Red, black and yellow! Look at the window too! Did you take a picture from the outside for you guys? Looks fun had by all. I cannot wait for you to start your trip!

In case I dont get a chance before you go I want to wish you safe travels and have a really brilliant time!!!!
I honestly cannot describe to you what you will experience when you are down there. Magic of course, Disney means magic!! But at GKW there is a different kind of magic.......Becca said that she felt like instead of just being different and 'pitied' because of her illness she felt 'special'.......everyone treated her as if she was 'special'. GKTW was Becca's lasting memory of the trip, she loved Disney, but it will be how she felt in the village that she will remember forever.

Mandy, thank you so much for your kind words and insight. I know there is still so much about GKTW that I do not know about ( as everyone keeps it hush hush..) and I just know that our whole family will be in awww the whole time. I just hope I can keep it together and not cry as we walk thru the doors...I am sure I will. I am very emotional right now, so just thinking about and hearing Jake talk about, I start to cry...

I know Jake is going to be treated special and I can't wait for that. He deserves it. I can't thank the Big Give enough, cause they also made BOTH Jake and Hannah feel super special.

Oh we will be getting that picture, that and Rock n Rollercoaster...

That is funny that you did the same thing that Jake wants to do... I know my sister is going to video tape that part, when Jake first see's the castle...I am sure his suprise and reaction will be the same when my parents got him Disney on Ice tickets for Christmas...

Wow, amazing party you guys had! Jake looked like he alot of FUN!!! Are you guys all going nuts right now with only 4 days to go.
That's our first day plan to, to go to the MK and head for HM. Cry....I may do that to.

Glad to hear you know when you wish granters are coming! The party looked like it was wonderful! How fun for his friends and family to share in the celebration with him!

Loved the pic with his "significant other." My wish child is 10 and he has been "engaged" (to the same girl) for the last 2 years. I really love the fact that she and Jake are doing rabbit ears to each other. Must be true love!

I can't believe you leave so soon!! Can't wait to see pictures of Jake's reactions...he is such a character and I just love how he feels things with such great emotion!!

Enjoy every moment...it's goes by far too quickly, and suddenly you are left wondering where it all went. Take advantage of everything GKTW has to offer...eat as much as you can, (especially Katie's kitchen!!! Loved their food!!!), take a visit to the spa, get to as many parties as you can, make some pucker powder at the theater, order the breakfast cart, take pictures of EVERYTHING (of course, I wish I took more!!). Have the time of your lives!!
The parks were amazing, of course, but it is GKTW that captured our hearts.

I don't want to miss this chance to add my own good wishes! Yes, make all the memories you can at GKTW - this is your chance to stay there for the week (my kids are already planning to visit...don't know when they think we're going back to WDW...?!?). The parks are great, too.

But it's the people who will make all the difference to your trip.

I know I am such a sap...we really just can not wait..Thank you all so much for the kind words...I really can not wait to come home and share our trip with you all. And please know that I will...it might be a couple of days after we get back, but I do promise to bring our trip back to this thread and share it with you.
