Jakob's Pre Make-A-Wish Trip ( Big Give Photos 3/13/09)

How beautiful both of your kids are!!! The excitement on their face when they got those gifts is wonderful to see, thank you for sharing. Your trip is getting so close, I'm so excited for you.
I also looked at Jakob singing on youtube, he is sooo cute. My daughter Jozlynn just wanted to watch it over and over.

WOW....is all I have to say right now...We got more Big Give packages today, and as with each one that has come before it, our family was speechless...I am working on the pictures right now, and hoping to get them up in the next 10 mins, but it is Hannah's 10th Birthday today and we are meeting family for dinner at 6:30, so that is in a half hour, so I might not get them up before I leave. If I do not, as soon as we get home, I will be posting them.

You ladies are truly amazing...I know I keep saying that, but really....we have been just blessed by the ladies of the Big Give and I just do not know what else to say, except thank you..

First I need to give a big Thank you to Shannon (revrob)... I have to say these are the BEST... Autographs books EVER!!!! I was ready to buy these cheesey ones on Ebay and than these came...OMG....Jake and Hannah were so happy when they saw them. I will say, the package came today when I was at the American Girl Doll Store with Hannah for her birthday, and my husband let Jake open them and did not do the pictures like I do, so I am sorry for not getting pictures of them when they opened the box. However, soon as I walked in the door, Jake was telling me and Hannah to close our eyes and than walked us to the table where he had them for us to see. Hannah screamed and thought it was the coolest thing ever...


LOVE THEM Shannon, you did an amazing job. Can't wait to have them signed!!!

After about an hour of getting home with Hannah, the Fed X truck comes by. He did stop by the house at 9:30am, and left a note saying he would be back and left his number on the tag. My husband called him ( as we were out) and asked when he would be back to bring the boxes, cause the note said there was 4 boxs and we knew they were Jakes' medical stuff, so the Fed X guy said he would be back in our area our 4pm today as he knew we needed them....( as he is always our drop off guy for Jake's medical stuff) and sure enough he was back at 4pm with 4 boxs and after he scanned three of them, the last box he went to scan said the "Lackey Family". And all of Jake' medical stuff comes with just his name on it...so I had a feeling it was from the Big Give....and it was...

When Jake got word one of the boxs was from the Big Give, he could not wait...so my husband snapped this shot....( look out the window, the Fed X guy had not even left our house yet.. )

These next gifts are from Tracie...Words can not express how my heart melted when Jake opened the box....I know I am a sap, but this one made me cry....I had seen this kind of scrapbook from another wish child, I believe Maya...and I thought what a great idea to do with the kids when we get back from Disney....and than to see this one, I lost it... I just started to cry as we just felt so blessed once again at that moment. To open the book and see one of my favorite pictures of Jake just hit me.. So Tracie, Thank you so much for making this scrapbook for Jake and Hannah. I would have never been able to make something so special as you did for my children....again I know Thank you is just not enough...

Myself and my sister have the same ones as Hannah, except pink shirts...

Gosh...your Fed Ex guy sounds very, very nice. I hope you have written a letter at some point to the Fed Ex people...because that is really, really nice of him!!

The scrapbook is incredible!!!! Wow. I bet they just freaked!

The last things to arrive were amazing! I had a long comment yesterday and must have been right when they started the update or whatever it was! It sat and sat and wouldln't go through and suddenly the disboards had just vanished!

I hope you'll have a wonderful and safe trip! I know you have a few days before you leave so dont get too hurried before you leave and be worn out for the trip!

Hello! I just found your thread via Jessica and I have read and cried and smiled and cheered through the whole thing! Your family is beautiful and I hope you all have a wonderful memory filled Wish Trip! I love love love all of the outfits! Jakob is so adorable and expressive! You are all so deserving! I hope the cold and yuck has passed by now and you are all feeling well....only 6 more days!

Jake loves the shirt so much he kept taking pictures of him wearing the shirt himself.... So I had to post one to share...

And I just LOVE this card Jessica....I had to take a picture of it... We have it hanging on the fridge too....

As always, thank everyone who has made this trip even more magical for Hannah and Jake. For me, saying Thank you is not enough, but right now that is all I can do, and take as many pictures as I can so you can all see just how greateful we are with everything that has been made and sent to us....

Less than a week away! Wow! Have a wonderful, wonderful trip...it does go by so quickly. Stop and treasure the memories you are making together, bask in the support from everyone you meet and enjoy!

I just read your report in one fell swoop. LOL

I came over from the Disbotiquers/Big give ladies. They are soooo awesome!

So happy your trip is almost here.

My oldest son had a mild form of CVS when he was little. (every few months.)
No other issues though, thankfully.
He would only stop his cycling with an IV, so we always had to go to the ER.
The worst part is before he was diagnosed, we used to yell at him for not answering us, and later found out that a somewhat catatonic state can be involved in CVS. I felt horrible after I found that out!
It took a dear friend of ours to figure out what was wrong with him, after reading a news article about CVS. The doctor had no idea until we told her what my friend had read. Then she realized that's what he had!
The dr. had once said that if she didn't know I was a good mom, she's wonder if I was doing something to make him sick!!!

So I know a very tiny, minute fraction of what that's like.

He has apparently outgrown it, thankfully.
He still is the most likely of all my kids to throw up.
I have read that some cases of CVS might be related to migranes/abdominal migranes, and we wonder if that is what is my son's real issue.

Anyway, I just had to comment, as I don't hear CVS very often, and I am soooo happy that Jakob's wish is coming true!

Don't know if you are aware or not, but your GKTW button will get you free parking at all parks. When you enter Disney, make sure the parking attendent sees your GKTW button. When we were there, my husband used an ECV (Scooter) that we had stowed in the back of the car. We let them know that we were medical overflow from GKTW and they sent us to the Handicap parking section. We parked next to the blue zones in diamond parking (reserved for Annual Passholders). It gets you closer to the gate, and if Jake is worn out or not feeling well, it is nice knowing that you don't have a long way to go to get to your car so you can get back to the villa at GKTW.
