Jake and the Neverland Pirates band coming to Downtown Disney

Total bummer! My twins would be thrilled, they just had a Jake birthday party. We will miss it by a few days, we arrive on the 16th. :(

AHHHHHH!!

OK, I'll try to compose myself, because I know this show is aimed at 5 year old boys, not women approaching 30, but I adore Sharky and Bones and their music! :lmao: I actually leave Disney Jr on in the mornings just hoping to catch one of their videos! I will DEFINITELY make it to DTD during one of these performances! Maybe more than once!

Thanks for the heads up Kenny! :worship:

I think DH is more upset that we'll be missing that than DD. :lmao: We're still holding out hope that H&V decides to add more of the Jake characters to that dining experience though. :goodvibes

Has any one gone to one of their shows yet? I am very curious to hear how they were, and I can only imagine their crowds. I wonder if Disney is going to start touring them around the country. Maybe this is a test?

They have been a band since long before J&thepirates. I actually used their music at my daughter's 3rd bday party back a few years ago. It was shortly thereafter that they shows premiered and I kinda went 'hey...I know that voice'! Their music is available on itunes (Captain Bogg & Salty). :thumbsup2

Here are some photos from their 2PM performance today. Sharky & Bones ROCK!

They sang the theme song, Neverland Pirate Band, Hot Lava, Aw Coconuts, Tick-Tock Croc, Talk Like a Pirate, and Roll Up the Map. :thumbsup2

I'm soooooo jealous! We won't be down until the 16th. I love Aw coconuts and Hot Lava!! We're doing H&V for breakfast and they're wearing their Jake and Izzy t shirts for the Bayou Pirate Cruise we booked at POR. I hope Sharky and Nones do a tour. I wonder if these appearances are to gauge audience response. Was the crowd big?

Was the crowd big?

Well, the marketside stage/amphitheater isn't all that big, but every seat was full and there were folks standing in the back. And they had another performance right after ours, that when we passed by later, was almost just as full! I'd love to see Sharky & Bones perform in the parks on a semi-regular basis...even once a quarter or so would be awesome! Jake & the Neverland Pirates sure seems to be a big hit with kids. Me, I just watch for their music!

UUUHHHGG!!!!! Of course we arrive on the 14th. I've been saying for well over a year now that I wish they would put out a DVD of just the Sharky and Bones videos. Every time they appear on the TV little DD stops whatever she is doing to watch them. It reminds me of the way my DS would react to the Wiggles back in the day. It would have been fantastic to see them in person.

Well here's hoping this makes way for more performances in the future and we are able to catch them on stage.

Does anyone know if they ARE posing for pictures after there sets?

Immediately after the set, they were taking brief moments while exiting the stage to shake hands with kids and pose for pics, but they were very strict about not letting kids on the stage.

On the days of the concerts they hold a meet & greet/CD signing event inside the World of Disney store at 4PM. Plenty of photo ops there. :thumbsup2

The 3pm show had different songs (some) & wasn't at all crowded! DD loved it - she stood up by the stage for the whole thing!

Shaky and Bones had a CD signing event/ meetvand greet but Jake was not present. We also saw the show yesterday afternoon- It was about 95 degrees at 2:00 in the afternoon with no shade protection. If it plays at night I highly recommend attending then. :)

I feel the same way... maybe it IS for women approaching 30 pirate:
We are going to be in WDW Aug 23-Sept1. I hope they decide to do more shows!!

We went to the 2:00 show and found seats right when it was started. There was a good crowdbut it was not crowded. Probably because there is no shade and the concerts are right in the middle of August afternoons. So hot!!
Cute show, though!
