Jaime's Illustrative Sojourn of Gastronomical Endeavors 2 (Shots of food I Ate)

This time, we are looking at photos from the September, 2006, trip.

I'll be honest - once I looked over these pictures, I could see that taking "food porn" shots was not on the top of my agenda - taking shots of the girls was... So I apoligize in advance if I get your hopes up about a certain restaurant (or 6!) - a lot of these restaurants are not getting a fair shake... and I promise I'll remedy that on a future trip!

CAST:

Jaime (me!), 38: knower of all paths around all Disney parades; able to leap Fast Pass lines in a single bound; unable to act normal around Tigger (gotta hug him!) and Pluto (always end up petting and scratching him!); 15th trip to WDW!

Meggie, DD15: Stitch wanna-be; whirling dervish of video-taping; deep in her heart (after you get past all the eyeliner) a true believer of Disney magic; Jack Skellington’s girlfriend; inventor of Saturday "Mommy-Meggie Day" in our house; trier of any food you place in front of her (hence, her other name since she could stand in front of you with her mouth open at the sight of food - "Maggot"); 10th trip to the World.

Ashley: DD’s friend 16: Ash-a-ley is how Meg pronounced it when they were tiny (they’ve been friends since they were 3!); The Dark Princess; stalker of Aladdin; proclaimer of "I’m not riding that if it messes up my hair!"; taker of 1 trip to WDW (and never got to see AK or EPCOT).

We are spending 8 nights at Pop Century with the free dining plan (thank heavens – I love the dining plan, but Ash is such a picky eater – she will surely eat her body weight in mac ‘n cheese and chicken nuggets this trip, so it wouldn’t be worth it to pay for her on the DDP).

This is one of the places I have to say I'm sorry - we had just gotten to Disney and we were starving!!! I forgot to take the picture until after we had eaten.

I call this "The Remains":

It used to be 2 cheese pizzas, a piece of apple pie, and a piece of chocolate cake.

Again - I'm sorry. All I have from this trip is a picture of the birthday cookie they gave Meg...

This is no longer on the menu - it was smoked salmon and a cream cheese-crab mixture and a big piece of flatbread sticking out of the top. Very good!

Fantastic pictures - judging by your most recent ones, though, it's obvious you've improved as a WDW food photographer in recent times

Loved your pictures! The angel food cake with berries looks yummy! I have a feeling it would go great with the cuppa coffee I'm having right now. And, I'll take a hidden Mickey made out of chocolate cake any day.

We start by getting a number downstairs at the podium. You use that to tell the photographer how many packages you get. After you have yoiur picture taken with Cindy, you head upstairs to be seated!

Huh, not a lot of food pictures here - here you can see the fruit and Meg's bacon...

A birthday cupcake for Meg. Sausage is now visible on her plate.

I like the food here - the sausage is spicy! The fried danish is excellent!!! They take cheese danishes, fry them, and put blueberry syrup on them!

The only picture I have with fod in it shows dessert - it's the same apple cobbler everyone gets, but ours came with a candle and a card for Meg.

I really wish I could tell you what this was! Maybe it's in my trip report... I'll go look, I poromise! I know there's a shrimp and I remember it being good.

Is it me or is Ashley's lemonade REALLY pink?

This was the steak and potato option. I found both to be very dry.

Meg's fish and chips came to the table like this. Suppose a picture of what it looked like after the waitress dumped it out would have been nice, too. Sorry. I can tell you this though - the fish was excellent!

Don't you hand jive over your desserts?

Meg had some kind of chocolate lump.. it was ok, dawg.

I had the creme brule. Weird texture, but good.

Ashley had the clear winner - it's a banana mousse-type thing - excellent!
