Day Off – I’m not known for "relaxing" days off though! Today includes mini golf (they open at 10, so we can sleep in today!), Downtown Disney, surrey bike (at the Wilderness Lodge? Seems like their terrain might be F-L-A-T), and Hoop Dee Doo… told you…not so relaxing… ]

This is why I like you Jaime!!! This is Disney - I didn't know it was supposed to be relaxing. Just being there and running around is relaxing to me. DH thinks it is a "vacation" which means "relax" (sleep late, lay around) - sorry but not at Disney!!! Although I keep promising if he takes me back this year we will "relax" - yeah right!

As I come back into the room, I pass Sandy’s bed. I bust out laughing and take a picture of her SHOE SUITCASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, for comparison, a shot of all MY shoes. Sandy wins!

CHAPTER 34: The Art of Disney – DAY 5: Still Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Vica-Mommie is running into a problem with the trip reporting here, too… I remember them coming in – I remember not being able to speak English. I know dinner ended up being at the Mara food court… I was torn between the falafel pita, the African Stew, and the shrimp platter (I went with the shrimp), but I don’t know what else we did the rest of the night! I’m fairly certain I at least had the sense not to go in a pool! I’d probably still be looking for the hippo to walk by…

where you took the "pooping at dawn" picture is probably one of my favorite parts of AKL. I am probably wrong, but is by an outside staircase? Cause if it is, it was by my room and i would go out there in the morning, night, and during daily breaks. all the animals were very close!

Before you get to the end of the Zebra Trail, there's a wing off to the right... at the end of it, you go out onto a staircase and that's where I found the Ankole.

CHAPTER 36: Fore! – Still DAY 6: Thursday, May 3, 2007


Today we need a bus to Blizzard Beach – we’re going mini-golfing at Winter/Summerland and they open at 10am. We take the bus over to Blizzard Beach – WHAT? No stop at Typhoon Lagoon??? - and walk over to the golf course. This course is so much easier to get to than Fantasia Gardens!

We’re a little early (9:46), so we decide to use the bathroom – help! Are we "sleighbelles" or "snowmen"?

Despite Jack trying to play hockey instead of golf

and storming the castle,

the snakes that scared the heck out of Sandy – and in turn - Rhonda,

and Rhonda (among other people) placing her ball in annoying places,

we had a very good time.

Not to ruin the course for anyone – but this snowman is a jerk.

See how wet the ground is – well, I had to get my ball out of the hole, and I was trying to protect the camera, so I stood directly in front of him (with my back to him), crouched down, and grabbed my ball. I planned to stay there until he was done squirting over my head, but the little creep must have some kind of sensor because he squirted straight down at me!

The only thing wetter than my back was Rhonda’s pants from laughing so hard!

Jack looks like he had fun. I love Winter Summerland - it is very fun to play! There's a couple fish on the other side that are friends of the snowman!

I'm charging the camera batteries right now so I can showe you how far I've gotten on my project. I think I've gotten a lot done in just a few weeks, but I know there's still a TON to do. Luckily, I love doing it!

So, if you need me in the evenings or on the weekend, I'm either updating this report, or sitting in front of 90210 reruns on SoapNet and crossstitching!

I can't wait to see it! I used to do a lot of crosstitching, but have been doing more jewelry making lately. I may have to try my hand at it again with one of those Disney kits.

Question: How do you keep the metallic thread from becoming brittle while you work? I have such problems when I work with metallic thread, but I love it so much because it's SOOO PURTY.

Well, this is Disney thread, so it doesn't do that.

The only trick I use is to work with shorter threads than I normally would, since I know it won't stand up to a lot of stitching...
