Jacksonville, Fl bypass

We will be traveling on a Sunday in a few weeks and I have a few questions. Sorry if these questions have been asked.

1. Is they bypass completed around Jacksonville yet?

2. If so does it save you time on a Sunday to use the bypass? [We will be there around 3:30pm to 5:30pm time frame]

Answers:
1 - Completed? I don't know for sure.

2 - On a Sunday, in the mid afternoon like that, I do not think you would gain any time by taking the bypass. (But, we are always prepared to take it, just in case of unexpected delays going through Jacksonville). The bypass would be more beneficial to vacation drivers on a weekday afternoon, IMHO, than on the weekend.

I'm pretty sure that most of the work is done on the I295 bypass. If not, it's just some minor stuff.

It only saves time during the week's rush hour periods. It is a longer route. For a weekend, I would just stay on I95.

The Eastern bypass (9A) was not completed as of March and did not look like it would be anytime soon. There is still a lot of work to be done where 9A meets 202 and traffic often backs up for about 15 minutes or more at that point.

Other than that the road is mostly completed and could save time over going through town, but probably not until it is finished.
Of course the Western bypass, 295 is always an option.

Thanks for the quick response to my questions. I think we will stay with I95 the route we normally take.

The eastern bypass is not done. The western bypass (295) has been open for years but adds so much time to the trip I'd only take it if 95 is closed.
We took 95 through Jax on a Friday night at 6pm and it was fine, many cars but we did 50+ mph. I wouldn't worry about it.
