Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

I hope you have a blast at Kidani! It's one of my favorite DVC resorts!

SUPER CUTE sweatshirt! Love it!

Aren't the lights just incredible. I love them and cry e v e r y t i m e.

Love Steampunk James!

You're sweet for biting your tongue.

The food look amazing! It's only 8am but I'm all ready craving....!

:rotfl: your poor father!! I'm so glad you had the wedding time to be with him. He sounds like a great man.

That has got to be the best memory to have now!!

And DF drooled over the beef. And I love your lights!!

It really is! Thanks!

•Yay for Savannah View room at AKL!!!! That's awesome. (Andddd, I shouldn't tell you, because you'll probably kill me if we just miss eachother, but we are TRYING to go to Disney World in May and looking at the 20th - 25th. )
•That is an adorable sweatshirt...I missed seeing that on DS .com, hmmm.
•Confession: I still have not seen the Osborne Lights. I want to so badly though! Looks like you had a blast, even though steampunk-James was there.
•I probably would have slapped your groomsmen for being a know it all that really doesn't know it all. Grrrr. Also, fun fact - I once saw a MA license plate that had YENSID on it!
•I love the BoardWalk area like SO much. It's awesome that you can just walk to Epcot or HS. Dang, I wanna stay over there now!
•That piece of cake is wayyy too expensive, however, it should be in my mouth right now.
•And OMG, OMG, OMG, YOUR FATHER! :scared1: Now THAT is a quite a story--I love it. That's the best way to remember someone. <3

Yay, more, more!!!

-UMMM MAYBE WE CAN MEET IN THE AIRPORT LIKE STARCROSSED LOVERS?!!?!? That would be awesome.
-You really need to go see the Lights. Just sayin.
-I wanna stay at the BW area too!!! Hopefully sometime in the nearish future.

Hey Jackie,

I am so glad that you have decided to do your trip report. I can't wait to read every word and see every picture.

Since I have missed a couple of updates, I will comment on each one separately.

* I am glad that you had an uneventful trip down to Florida, especially since the early part of your day was less than stress free.
* After seeing you and Danielle travel with the dress, there is no way I am doing that. Carolyn Allen's it is! :cool1:
* I always take photos of every hotel room, even if we have stayed at the resort before. I don't know why I do it.
* I love those chairs at BCV.

Great start to the trip. I am off to read the next installment. popcorn::
-I also take photos of the hotel room, even if I have stayed there before. It just becomes your home for the week or so, you know?
-And CA is probabbblllyyy the best idea.

* I'm excited that you'll be going to AKL!!
* The Osborne lights are so pretty. Some day I will have to get there at Christmas time!
* I am totally with you on the price of a dessert like that. Crazy!! We were on the dining plan so luckily I wasn't paying much attention to price, but normally it's pretty ridiculous. It does look delicious though, especially with that pretzel on top!
* The story about your dad is too funny! :lmao: That will be a great memory, one that I'm sure will live on!

-Yes, you need to go during Christmastime! :D
-We had Tables in Wonderland, which turned out to work out better for us. (We went to SO many signatures!) I'm not really into the DDP anymore... I used to love it, but they just keep raising the price. Just my opinion though!

I love the sweatshirt! I got that sweatshirt and the pants to match and wore them during the wedding day while I was getting my hair done!

Oh, and speaking from a current GMR cast member, you can tell James that the actual line is "Here's one of my favorite movie stars, Mickey Mouse starring in one of his greatest roles, the Sorcerer's Apprentice. The sorcerer in this sequence is named Yensid, which is Disney spelled backwards" :rotfl:

Oh and how I love the Osborne lights! DH and I got engaged there, so they're extra special to me!

And I love the story about your dad! Such a great memory!
-Oh, you got the sweats too? I think that means I can get them too. I have the tanktop though. I love that collection.
-I didn't know you worked at GMR!!!! That's fabulous.

Okay, caught up on another installment. I must not get so far behind again. ;)

* I loved reading that you have taken up reading for pleasure again. I would have thought that was a natural for you. Some good recommendations for chick lit from me would be -- Jennifer Weiner, Jodi Picoult, and definitely Emily Giffin (start with Something Borrowed). I also am a huge fan of historical fiction, if you are interested.
* I would love to do a book club. That would be awesome!
* The Solarium is one of my favorite spaces at the BC. It is one of our choices for our first look. Our other choice is the Breezeway at the villas.
* Love seeing the carousel and all the decorations. Makes me miss my "home" resort very much.
* I am so happy that you liked BC. Paul and I would be happy to adopt you and Chris. We might need more points though! :rotfl2:
* Love the Memories banner at MK and you look fabulous in your tiara. Excellent choice.
* I have never seen Chip and Dale in the space suits. Way cool!!
* The photopass Pluto is cute and creepy weird all at the same time.
* OH MY, grandparents across the hall!!! :scared1: Well, isn't that special.
* Wow! Kudos to Lacy for coming through when she was needed. Huge props from this furmom.

Okay...off to catch up on the rest.
-I'm really bad at reading for pleasure because I have to do SO much reading for school. And you named two of my favorite pleasure-authors: I love Emily Giffin and Jennifer Weiner! I can't wait until Giffin's new book later this year.
-I adore the Solarium. The wood smells like home. :)
-Yes, I think if you adopt Chris and me, you need more points. :lmao: My grandparents virtually told me this weekend that they're giving me the DVC in a few years, so I'll come with 150 points to Vero Beach!
-I am also very impressed with lacy... I think Chris's mom has been doing most of the work. Regardless, she is safe and sound.

Hiya!!
I love the lights! We've only seen them once and I think they were still in the process of being put up, but they were so dreamy! I looove that sweatshirt you got! Don't you love when you "have" to get something to stay warm? ;)

We've stayed at BW & YC several times and haven't been to Yachtsman Steakhouse- I think you report (despite the exp cake!) has me making a reservation during our wedding trip! mmmm so tasty :goodvibes

How awesome of your grandparents!! AKV will be so awesome! We haven't stayed there yet because I'm not too sure if its too far away from everything, so I am excited for your (hopeful) review to change my mind!

LOVE the story of your dad with the tram-- I even read it out loud to DF. Too funny!! So glad you have that memory to look back and laugh about :cutie:

-I know, buying shirts can be such a chore, huh? :rolleyes1
-Yachtsman is definitely worth a trip! Just don't buy the $11 cake. Go to Brown Derby instead and get their $7 grapefruit cake. Mmm.
-I have stayed one night at AKV, so the far away-ness didn't effect me. However, it's a BEAUTIFUL resort.

what night were you guys at MGM? we were there on the 4th watching the 8pm Fantasmic!.....oh I walked by your ceremony on the 6th..lol....Adam and I were walking back to Boardwalk from EPCOT and saw that you were taking some pictures at SBP...I yelled out yay Jackie!!!! Dont know if you heard me or not.

I dont know if you watch How I Met Your Mother or not, but in the 6th season theres is an episode where one of the characters fathers dies. He realizes shortly after the funeral that he has a voicemail from his dad. Its the last words that were said to him. The whole episode is based on what it could be and in the end it resulted in just being a pocket dial with a bunch of weird noises and his father saying stupid things. But it didnt matter cause thats how the father was, and thats how he will always be in the eyes of that character.

I just thought I would mention that cause it reminded me of the Airport story you posted, which as you said is one really great last story.
-This was on the 4th! We were at DHS at the same time: small world! And I didn't hear you yell my name, but I wish I had. I was KIND of out of it though hahaha. I kept hoping I would see your wedding: I was at the GF for my DP on the 6th, but no such luck.
-And yes, I have actually been thinking of that HIMYM episode, as Marshall's dad died suddenly. The recent episode where he goes to his dad's grave and tailgates also inspired me to do something similar--- haven't figured out what yet though.

Hey Jackie! Sorry I haven't been replying lately....lots going on. That being said , here's what I have to say :)

Firstly, as I have told you before, I am so very sorry to hear about your dad  I couldn't believe it when I read your post on Facebook and just know that you and Chris have been in my thoughts and prayers ever since. I hope the memories you made with him during your trip will help to overcome the grief. I'm glad you decided to continue on with your TR. As previous posters mentioned, it will help you remember the good times. Also, I'm sure your dad definately did not want you dwelling on his passing when you are supposed to be enjoying the newlywed wife. It's also good that you decided to go to a counsellor. Talking through it will definately help.

Secondly (on a more cheerful note), I am so excited to read about your trip! Everything looks great so far! Even though I totally agree with you about the awkwardness of having your grandparents across the hall on your wedding night lol... it still sounds like you guys really enjoyed yourselves!

Thirdly...LOVE LOVE LOVE that sweater!!!

Fourthly (do people say that???...I'm French...I don't know! lol), I love that your dad went through that whole airport fiasco (not for the fact that he almost got arrested obviously...but for the amazing stories and memories you can now add to your repertoire).

Fifthly, (lol), it is very cool of your grandparents to give you that stay at AKL! I am very jealous! You will have a great time!

Lastly, judging by your pictures on Facebook....you were a gorgeous bride!!!! I can't wait to read more! I still have to check out the DPS pics....doing that next!

I will be a little more up to date in reading now...PROMISE!!

Just checked out the DPS pics! LOVE the Epcot session! They are gorgeous!!!
-Thank you for your kind words on my dad. <3
-You should def buy a sweatshirt!
-My grandparents are great. I didn't have to pay for my honeymoon because of them, and I don't have to pay for this May trip either (well, apart from airfare and food.)
-And thank you for the picture compliments!

More please! I'm a newcomer to this TR but I'm already in love. <3

Also, my father had a similar experience at the airport, except he was merely wearing a button..an 'if I'm smiling, you should be afraid' button. And he was grinning because we were going to Disneyland!

OMigosh! I can't believe someone else had a similar experience! That's crazy.

I like GM's outfit. I've always enjoyed people who aren't afraid to wear their enjoyments 'on their sleeve.'

Jackie, your dad . . . that is just AWESOME! That will be the story to tell the grandkids.

I'm glad you attempted to 'brave the weather.' It's nice to know I'm not the only one who ended up with a Disney sweatshirt that way. :goodvibes

-Yeah, I kind of like James's outfit too. (Well, I don't get the goggles, but whatever?)
-Actually, NO grandkids here! I'll tell the grand-dogs hahaha
-I always buy a disney sweatshirt anyway. I have way too many. At least this one wasn't bought in July, right?!

what a CUTE SWEATER :lovestruc I happy that u have awesome memories of the ones u love, u will cherish them 4ever.. going by ur trip report u had a wonderful time :cloud9:

Thank you! :)

I hope you have a blast at Kidani! It's one of my favorite DVC resorts!

:rotfl: your poor father!! I'm so glad you had the wedding time to be with him. He sounds like a great man.
-Glad to hear you like Kidani! My gparents still whine about the lone hallways!
-I didn't tear up during the lights--- I am still surprised and proud of myself!
-And my dad was a great guy. He had his faults, but I can only remember the good stuff, right??

-Oh, you got the sweats too? I think that means I can get them too. I have the tanktop though. I love that collection.
-I didn't know you worked at GMR!!!! That's fabulous.

Oh, I definitely think you need to get the sweats too! And tank top??? What tank top?? Do you have a pic? I might need it!

Hiya Jackie, just catching up...

That is so cool that you get to stay in Kidani Village, I'm well jealous!

The Osborne Lights looked spectacular, great pics.

OMG that peanut butter cake looked so tasty!

I laughed out loud when I read your story about your Father, so funny and a great memory. :lovestruc

Brilliant update x

There's some pictures of me in it later on in the trip, don't worry! I think you do need it: it's also one of the most flattering pieces of clothing I own!

Trip Report Day 2 (January 5th), Part 1

My first thought when I woke up was OMG I'M GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up excited, but very, very nervous. We woke up early (as usual), showered, and then I called my dad because our original plan had been to bring him to Epcot and then to DHS. Well, I called him and he answered with "I'm sleeping!" Apparently, his run in with the law tuckered him out. :lmao: Chris and I didn't want to waste a morning waiting for him to get up though, so we headed off to Epcot on our own.

Oh! First I had an amazing ham and cheese bagel sandwich from the grab and go. Seriously, amazing! I don't have any food porn of it though.

Anyway, the walk to Epcot was when I truly fell in love with BCV. The walk was less than 5 minutes! I truly hadn't realized how close they were. Since we arrived so early, I snapped a picture of the Christmas decorations that were still up:

DSCN0348.jpg

We didn't have to wait too long before they let us in the park. And, apparently, they don't lead you over to the main attractions any more, which is pretty unfair for the people at the main entrance. I had been texting Becky because she and her mom were going to Epcot that day too, and she arrived 45 minutes before we did, and we were in line for Soarin before she was even in the park! Crazy unfair. Anyway, we managed to get on the first flight for Soarin: nice work, pal, you could say. :lmao: I crack myself up sometimes.

We headed over to Test Track, and my dad called when I was in line--- and that is just the worst line to try and have a phone conversation in. I called him after the ride, and he decided not to go to a park that day, (Lame.) but we made plans for lunch. We headed over to the board to look at the waits: and that's when I remembered there was a new board!!!! I had totally forgotten, and Chris and I were so excited. Because we're THAT cool.

DSCN0350.jpg

We decided to head over to Figment so I could sing "One Little Spark" and whine about the lack of a Dreamfinder. (I'm a lot to put up with). It was sometime around this that Chris got a call from his mom: apparently his Uncle Frank, one of our wedding guests, fell and broke his arm!!! He was still going to come to our wedding, but he wouldn't be making our cupcake meet and greet. I swear, our wedding guests must have been cursed.

It was almost 11 by then, so we decided to head over to World Showcase. Becky was also going over to WS, so we waited for her and played the "Is that Becky game?" where we looked for people who looked the LEAST like Becky. "Is that Becky? No, that's a baby in a stroller." While we were waiting for Becky though, I spotted the love of my life (Belle) and, as soon as she met up with us, I dragged everyone over to meet her.

I told her I was getting married tomorrow, and she told me to make sure that Gaston didn't barge in during the ceremony. Look at the serious look on my face!

31856900040.jpg

Thank you so much for your advice, Belle!

31856900042.jpg

31856900045.jpg

I made Becky get in a picture too. She wasn't too happy with me.

31856900048.jpg

Belle sent us off talking about Gaston again. She seemed pretty hung up on him.... :rolleyes1 I wonder if the Beast should be worried?

We walked around the countries a bit more, but Becky and Chris's main goal was to head over to the Japan store: Becky loves Hello Kitty, and Chris loves geekery. However, I was the only person who bought anything! There was this "Pony Florist" tote bag that I had wanted in August, but didn't buy. They still had it, and matching stickers, so she came home with me. Chris and I decided to leave WS after this and go have lunch with my dad.

My dad had, apparently, just been doing his favorite activity: laying in his room and watching TV! We tried to go to Beaches and Cream, but the wait was too long and, when we did get seated, we were told we had to sit at the counter and none of us wanted to do that, so we left. (As in the hostess came to seat us, and we just... left. We have REALLY bad manners.) We ended up just getting food from the grab and go: nothing exciting, but convenient, at least. The three of us went back to mine and Chris's room and just tried to get everything situated for tomorrow. We moved the tuxes to my dad's room, and Chris brought over his duffel bag. (Chris spent the night with my dad and they all got ready together.) I spent most of the afternoon in a fit of nerves, and at 3:30 went downstairs to the lobby to meet our guests for our cupcake meet and greet.

The second part of Day 3 is MUCH more exciting! I can't wait to share it with you all... and then I can tell you about what happened while I was home too. (Here's a hint: it involves my mother.)

•Yay! Epcot is my favorite park! :lovestruc
•I love that you can walk to Epcot from the BoardWalk...
•Aha! Your expression with Belle--You're like, I'll cut Gaston if he comes to my ceremony!
:lmao:

Jackie, I simply adore the expression on your face in that first picture with Belle. Seriously adorable.

Cupcake meet and greet!

Ooh, a cliffhanger! It's so 'Lost'-esque! Oh, oh! I just remembered the Dharma cake! :yay:

/
LOL, I love the face you're making at Belle about Gaston.

Can't wait to hear more and I gotta go check out your Randy pics too! I saw that you posted them on the Dis FB.

Let me repeat this: my grandparents. were directly across. the hall. from me. And would be on my wedding night. You ladies, please let that sink in.

I'm so behind, but I had to stop reading and comment on this! :lmao: Wow! Hope this wasn't too awkward for you! First night of our Honeymoon at the AKL, we heard a baby cry a few times - only the first night thankfully, but still kind of a buzz kill. ;) I'm so glad Lacy took in Thunder!

Phew! Now I am caught up. Love hearing about your Dad and he just cracks me up. I, too, love the face your are making talking with Belle! It does sound like she is a bit hung up on him. She could have wished you both a happily ever after... Anyway I am excited to hear what happened involving your mom and to see this tank top that goes with that sweatshirt!

Looks like a fun first half of the day! I love all of the pictures with Belle. It really does sound convenient to stay at the Boardwalk, being in walking distance of Epcot and HS. And I also love the new boards at Epcot :goodvibes

Great update! The Belle pics are too funny. I get so stupid around the characters. We took a WDW trip right before my DL college program, and after we saw Mickey, I said to Brandon "Oh shoot! I should have told Mickey I got into the college program!"... thinking that he would have been excited. Brandon said "You know it's a girl in a costume, right?" And I thought geez, he's right. Like for a second I was thinking of Mickey as a person. Facepalm.

Waiting for more!!

LIES, ALL LIES!!!:lmao:

Looking forward to the next part of yor trip report Jackie.

Okay, my bad, I have fallen behind again. Bad, bad DisBride friend.

Without further adoo, Day 2, Part 2 Comments....

* Love the sweatshirt! Oh yeah, Chris MADE you buy it! :rotfl:
* Love the Osborne Lights. Saw them in 2010. Can't wait to get Paul to see them.
* Glad Chris got to hang out with James, but really what is up with that outfit?:confused3
* Great shot of you and Chris with the lights. You should come back and see them again (like Veterans Weekend -- jes sayin). :rolleyes1
* Yachtmans is our favorite restaurant at Disney. So glad that you liked it. I am even using something that happened there on our 5th anniversary in my vows
* Totally agree on tables for 2. The worst restaurant when it comes to this is Chef Mickey's. I think they have 2 tables for 2. :headache:
* The strip looks amazing! Glad Chris enjoyed it. We are planning on taking a bunch of people there the night after our VR.
* $11 FOR THAT SLIVER OF CAKE!!!! Was it the Weight Watchers portion?? Also, what's up with all the salt? Crazy.
* The Dad story is a classic. I will totally think of this when I go to MCO now.

Alright, off to read more....:hug::hug:

•Yay! Epcot is my favorite park! :lovestruc

•Aha! Your expression with Belle--You're like, I'll cut Gaston if he comes to my ceremony!

Sometimes Epcot is my favorite park, but sometimes it's the Magic Kingdom. I can never really decide. And I TOTALLY would have cut Gaston if he had shown up. (Spoiler alert: he didn't.)

Jackie, I simply adore the expression on your face in that first picture with Belle. Seriously adorable.

Cupcake meet and greet!

Ooh, a cliffhanger! It's so 'Lost'-esque! Oh, oh! I just remembered the Dharma cake!

Thank you very much!!! What's in the hatch?!?! :lmao:

LOL, I love the face you're making at Belle about Gaston.

Can't wait to hear more and I gotta go check out your Randy pics too! I saw that you posted them on the Dis FB.

Thanks! I only posted one in the Dis, but I added over 1000 to facebook if you friend me. :D

Awwww. Stupid crying baby! Shut that kid up! (I am so maternal.) Thanks for popping in and catching up. :)

Awww love the pic with Belle - especially the look on your face, lol brilliant. x

Awww thank you.

Looks like a fun first half of the day! I love all of the pictures with Belle. It really does sound convenient to stay at the Boardwalk, being in walking distance of Epcot and HS. And I also love the new boards at Epcot

I was actually at the Beach Club, which is a bitttt more convenient than the BW: BW is more centrally located, but eh, I don't care THAT much about DHS!

Great update! The Belle pics are too funny. I get so stupid around the characters. We took a WDW trip right before my DL college program, and after we saw Mickey, I said to Brandon "Oh shoot! Waiting for more!!

Michelle, I do the SAME thing. Same thing. I was OBSESSED with having a conversation with Snow White later in the trip because I just HAD to tell her something. I might have had one too many Grand Marnier Orange Slushes though...

LIES, ALL LIES!!!

Looking forward to the next part of yor trip report Jackie.

Yeah. What the heck is she talking about?!?! :rolleyes1

Alright, off to read more...

He did! He totally forced me into the sweatshirt. Yup. And I SO wish I could come over Veteran's Day weekend. (I'm actually trying to figure it out in my head hahaha). We MIGHT (big might) go for NYE actually!
-I KNOW RIGHT! Stupid WW portion!!!
-You must look for the door at MCO.

I *loved* your face when you were talking to Belle. Great update.

Thanks! <3
*************************************
Just a few things before I get to the trip report: I forgot to mention that I made our dining reservations for our AKL trip in May. We're going to CA Grill, Via Napoli, and Jiko. We fell in love with the first two during our honeymoon, and Jiko will be a new one for us. I'm also attempting to pester Chris into going to WDW for NYE. I know it's absolutely crazy busy (and rates are so much higher), but I still want to do it. But, we'll see.

I also just wanted to say that I'm doing... okay. Some moments are better than others; some moments are worse than others, but I'm hanging in there. Some things are very difficult for me still (for instance, I really haven't been giving a crap about school as of late), but I hope it will get better with time. It just boils down to I miss my dad. I miss his weird facebook messages and I miss complaining about people with him everyday and, honestly, I miss having that security blanket that he provided. I'm also... I don't know, frustrated and angry with him because he left his house in such disarray, and now my 71 year old grandfather is left to try and pick up the pieces. I know it's no use being angry, but I can't help it sometimes.

Anyway. Enough of that.

I also got my Randy pictures in! They're GORGEOUS and I am in love with them! Except... my eye makeup ran for a lot of the pictures. :( I've been obsessing over it for the past day, but I am sure I will get over it. I guess that's one of the fallbacks to having an outdoor wedding in Florida. (I think it must have melted a little bit, and I cried a bit too.)

Now, onto the trip report.

Day 3, Part 2
Not a Day 3 purchase, but I did promise you all a picture of a souvenir we bought:

4f6b9ccf.jpg

A signed copy of a Larry Dotson print of the Boardwalk that has SBP in it! It's perfect for any SBP bride. :) We were so happy to find it, and so happy that Larry Dotson was there to personalize it for us. (I have one of his Haunted Mansion prints hanging in my entryway.)

Anyway, so we went to the lobby to meet people at around 3:15. Most people arrived on time, but my poor MOH Richelle got lost. (She had decided to take the bus to Epcot because the Beach Club is so close to Epcot, but there is no bus from Epcot.) I really do wish that Disney would make it easier to travel in between resorts, you know?

My Ga-ga is really, really awesome at taking unattractive pictures of people eating. (Seriously, he starts taking pictures of us eating during EVERY single holiday.) Naturally, he was in his element at a cupcake meet and greet.

431247_722432642161_13003576_35300288_612912210_n.jpg

Okay, this one is funny at least:

409424_722432717011_13003576_35300290_1213389350_n.jpg

And, the piece de resistance:

http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...22432816811_13003576_35300292_628890506_n.jpg

Oh gaga.

It was nice to catch up with everyone, but I pretty much just talked to Richelle. It was awkward seeing Lacy (remember, we hadn't really spoken since the drama), and Chris's mom, as per usual, said 4 words to me. It was during this meet and greet, however, that I FINALLY heard from my mother: in case some of you don't remember, on the 3rd, I found out that my mom's hotel reservation had been cancelled and I couldn't get ahold of her. I found out from her boyfriend that she had left him, yadda yadda yadda. Anyway, so I finally heard from her...

...and I got a text message. Oh yes. It said (and I didn't delete it so I could have it to type here): "Sorry havent gotten ahold of u sooner ray and i broke up im in chicago im going 2 grandfather shanks next week i know its herendous timing but i want u 2 know im fine and that i love and im really sorry that i cannot b there and i want u 2 have the time of ur life mommy"

I read this and I was so angry I started shaking. Really?!?! My own mom sent me a text message 18 hours before my wedding telling me she wouldn't be there. Absolutely reprehensible. I still have no idea what she was doing in Chicago: as far as I know, she hasn't been there since she lived there for 9 months when she was 15. If she could make it to Chicago from Connecticut, why the hell couldn't she make it to Florida?! After I got this message, I pretty much decided I didn't want anything to do with my mother any time in the near future: she is a selfish, immature person. (It's not TR related, but after this block of TR I'm going to write what she did at my dad's wake).

I had to try and calm myself down. My dad, who has never been my mom's biggest fan, had to go away for awhile and complain to his best friend. I resolved not to let it get to me though: I wanted to have a good night. Richelle, Becky (who came halfway through the cupcake meet and greet), and I were going to 1900 Park Fare!

As a side note, my dad and Becky's mom went to Cape May Cafe and saw Yeehaw Bob and they loved it! I've never seen Yeehaw Bob, but they had a swell time. Just in case you were curious. :goodvibes

So Chris and I said our goodbyes (he was bringing his groomsmen to Disney Quest), and the girls and I went back to my room. I let them borrow leggings because I might have brought 6 pairs, and I got changed. Transportation was quick and smooth, and it didn't take long for us to get seated at 1900 Park Fare.

As SOON as we were seated, Anastasia saw my tiara and yelled "A BRIDE!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!" -pause- "I'll be back!" It was hilarious. We ordered our drinks and got up to get food...

...and oh my gosh, this is the best Disney buffet I have ever been to! Seriously, why didn't anyone prepare me for this?! The strawberry soup is one of the best things I have ever had. And the mashed potatoes were just perfect. I could have gone here every night! I think we all had 2 or 3 bowls of soup... It was not a proud moment for any of us.

Anyway, you probably want to hear me talk about characters, right?

Cinderella came over and congratulated me. I was wearing my blue sparkly shoes so I just had to show her: she liked them, of course. She was fine, but a bit boring.

Prince Charming was even MORE boring. I don't really remember what he said; whatever it was, it wasn't interesting. Richelle has also decided that he looks like Peewee Herman, so that's all I can see now!

The Evil Stepmother, however, became my new best friend. She came over to our table and was SO sweet: she asked if we were excited about the wedding, and we told her we were nervous, so she took our hands and did some deep-breathing exercises with us. As I stood up to take my picture with her, she said to me "You are nice to your mother, aren't you?!"

...and Becky almost had a heart attack! "Don't talk about her mom!!!" So, naturally, I had to tell Lady Tremaine all about my mother woes.

I could tell she felt sobad for me, and she told me not to let it bother me. We talked for a good 10 minutes or so, and she gave me a big hug.

Don't we look like besties?!?!

Anyway, when Drusilla came over, Lady Tremaine said "This is a wonderful girl, and don't ask her about her mother!!!!" Becky, Richelle, and I cracked up. Drusilla didn't stay long, but she made an ugly face for our picture:

Anastasia came back, and she made everyone on our side of the room cheer for me. It was very sweet.

I should also mention that the people at 1900 Park Fare don't know how to weed out good pictures from bad ones. They brought our picture over, and my eyes were completely shut, so naturally I wasn't going to buy it. The picture person came back later though and had found a MUCH better one: apparently they weren't paying attention when they did it or something. (Wouldn't you want to make sure the girl with the Bride tiara was happy?!) I ended up buying the picture because I probably will never be with Richelle and Becky in WDW again, but it's still packed right now.

After dinner was over, the three of us were stuffed. Walking up that grand staircase was painful; Becky declared "Yup. That was MY marathon," in honor of marathon weekend. :lmao: We decided to poke around in Basin before heading back, and we bought some "Relaxation" bath salts: our plan was not to take a bath, but to fill up the bath in hopes of making the room smell good. We christened this idea our "Ghetto Spa" because we were too cheap to go to an actual spa.

We headed back to the hotel and got a round of drinks in Martha's Vineyard. It was starting to get late and we had to be up at 5:30ish, so we headed back around 9 or so. Richelle and I had to shower, and we also had to get our dresses situated. We retrieved the 3 dresses from my grandparents' room, who had babysat them while they were steamed.

Look how she sparkles!

We also made our Ghetto Spa. We put the salts in the bath and both sinks, but it didn't really do anything. We left it overnight, but it just made the water cold and green!

Finally, it was time for sleep. Becky scratches her legs in her sleep so she had to sleep with gloves on (pink Hello Kitty gloves, no less)

It took me awhile to fall asleep, but once I did I was out cold. I was getting married the next day!!!!!!!!

Just a quick note about my mom's behavior at my dad's wake:

So, I hadn't heard from my mom since the text message. She did call me a few times after she finally heard about my dad, but I didn't answer the phone because I honestly didn't have anything to say to her. She came up to me at the wake and gave me a hug (which is awkward, because we don't hug). She said "How you are doing?" "Fine." "WHAT are you doing?" (And I can't recall what I said in response... kind of an obvious question to ask.) "Do you want me to leave?" "That's up to you." To which she rolled her eyes, made a loud sigh, and stormed off. She then told my grandparents--- my dad's grieving parents that I "wasn't talking to her." Absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway, the next installment will be the start of my wedding day!

I have wanted to comment about so many of your wedding posts, but the boards have been sooooo sloooow.

I love that you and your girls went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I might have to steal that idea! Your interaction with Disney characters is absolutely priceless. I was the same way when we met Belle, she noted that my DH was very hairy just like the beast, and asked me if I also had to often clean up all the hair around the house. :rotfl:

Your dress is just beautiful :lovestruc Can't wait to read about your wedding day.

Oh my god, in any photo I see of that particular Prince Charming from here on out, I'm only going to see PeeWee Herman. How did I NOT see that before? I watched that show EVERY Saturday! :rotfl:

Strawberry soup! Doug and I may need to get there come our November trip!

I love that signed print. That's definitely something we're going to be looking into. Hopefully the artist is there at some point during our week.

I'm so excited for the next installment! :goodvibes

* Oops, I meant Beach Club! Actually, until we visited the Boardwalk this past September I had no idea there were actually two resorts there - I'd only thought there was just the Boardwalk!
* The painting is awesome - we also got a Larry Dotson print and were able to have him sign it while we were there, I think it's really cool!
* Your mom is just ridiculous. It makes me really mad to hear that. For her to text you... and then basically say "well, hope you have a good time" and that's it on your wedding day... ugh!!
* 1900 Park Fare looks like a lot of fun. We did breakfast where they also have the strawberry soup, and it is so delicious! When we went on a Carnival cruise they had a very similar soup, and a bunch of different "fruit soups" on different nights. Yum!
* Loving the Wicked Stepmother! She doesn't seem so evil after all ;)
* Sorry your Ghetto Spa didn't work... it sounded like a good idea!!
