Jackets in July??

I am in the process of packing to leave Friday am (very early) - I am debating whether or not to bring light weight jackets.....does it cool down in the evenings???? I am having a real issue with decisions right now and I am sure I am forgetting something major.

It depends if you feel lower 80's is cool or not.

We are from Wisconsin and never needed jackets in October. Any time of day or night in July-August seemed very hot and humid to us.

Maybe a rain jacket for rain but you won't need any kind of jacket for warmth in the evening, it's usually still very warm in the evenings. HTH

You might bring a very light sweater if you think you will be chilly in air-conditioned restaurants (virtually every building open to the public in Florida is air-conditioned--my relatives from out-of-state were very surprised by that!). Otherwise, expect Orlando to be hot and humid in the evening.

When we were there in June we saw alot of people in jeans, long sleeved shirts and jackets. For us, we would have melted where we stood if we would have dressed that way lol.

I freeze when I go from hot humid air to the refrigerator type air found in many of the restaurants. I always carry a lightweight jacket (for my two teen d's as well) in a small nylon back pack type bag. It depends on your tolerance for ac! My DH and DS think me and my daughters are crazy!

We were there Mid to late June--and we were hot the whole time...with the exception of the German restaurant at EPCOT'S World Showcase. I have to tell you though, it was a welcome cold!

I say YES!

I had a lightweight, packable jacket I kept in my daypack and I used it at most indoor attractions, during rainstorms, and in restaurants. Once you get used to being in 100ish degree heat, even temperatures in the seventies feel frosty.

I used to pack jackets and jeans for my kids when they were young and I did all the packing. All our trips were in July and never, not once, did we need them.

A good rule I heard somewhere is to pack half of what you think you'll need and take double the money. Sure enough I kept this in mind last month... we had extra room for souvies on the trip back, and no money left.
