Jack Frost Nipped at Our Noses But Not Our Spirits! Day 6 - Tonga Toast & Epcot

After taking a few pictures, we wandered over to Adventureland to meet up with Mike & Natalie and their families. Our plan was to meet at the Dole Whip stand at 1 PM. I got there a few minutes early and since the line was getting long, I jumped on and figured I'd try my very first Dole Whip treat while waiting for my fellow Dis'ers to show up. I thought I'd go all in and had the pineapple ice cream with the pineapple juice and DH had the same. The kids didn't want anything from that stand so DH promised them Mickey bars the minute he found them. I think I had texted Natalie to let her know that I was waiting on line. Funny thing is, she was standing on the other side of the building waiting on line. I took the 1st sip and I liked it, but next time I will definitely try the Orange Dole Whip/pineapple juice combination.

I walked over to the other side of the building and saw Natalie and introduced myself and the kids and met her cuties and her Mom. While she finished ordering, I saw Mike and his family and we made our introductions. At this point, DH went in search of Mickey bars for the kids. Natalie, Mike and I chit chatted for a few minutes about the weather, our plans, and then took a picture.

We've decided the Dole Whip could be more perfect with the addition of a shot of Malibu rum. :)

That picture makes me look like a giant.:lmao:

I love the panoramic pictures! They are so beautiful! Glad to hear your kids finally got Mickey bars. :thumbsup2

Thanks! DH started to annoy me a bit because he would take 15 minutes to get a panoramic shot of something, but in the end the result was worth it.

I think he also has one of the park at night. Let me search for it.

I'll get a post up soon...(hopefully), I've been trying to get my house organized. I've been slack on the upkeep and it's biting me in the  now.

I know it's been a while and I'm sorry. The :laundy: during the winter is ridiculous plus with all the snow days I haven't had time to write a proper trip report.

So...with that said...heeeere we go!

After meeting Princes Tiana and Prince Naveen, we decided to take our last trip into Toontown. We were in search of anything that had the name Toontown on it so we could have a souvenir. But first, Barnstormer. Love that the line here is always so short. Afterward, the kids wanted to look around the little ship area and then we went into the Country Fair. Do you believe they didn't have one thing with the words Toontown on it? We thought maybe a hat, a book, something, but nope, we were wrong. Fortunately on the way out, I spotted the penny press machine and when I looked inside - TA-DA!!!! - Mickey pennies with Toontown on them!! We dug in our pockets for change, didn't have enough and went to the register to ask for some. We chose a Tigger penny and when we walked outside, we saw another pressed penny machine with Toontown on them and chose Donald.

Since we had an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern, we decided to just take the train back to Frontierland and walk over to LTT, but first, a picture in front of the Toontown Fair sign...

Disney%20Christmas%202010%20604.JPG

We headed over to LTT for our favorite Disney meal. The last (and first time) we ate here was on Christmas Day in 2008. It's the perfect Christmas meal and since it is the holiday season, I made the reservation there. Whenever DH likes a meal, I try to make sure I incorporate it into our plans. If you get a chance, have dinner there, I promise you won't regret it. We had turkey, beef, stuffing, mac and cheese, ham, mashed potatoes and veggies. Love eating there! You do feel a bit like this when your done
fat-owman-3.gif

When we finished, I wanted to do Jungle Cruise and since the sun was setting, it was the perfect time to go. JC is super fun in the dark. It makes it less cheesy.

That morning, I had packed a bag of parade toys (bubble guns, blinking glasses, etc.) for the kids along with our Christmas tees and some scarves, hats and gloves and left it in the lockers up front. We needed to get these before our party time began.

When we were done, we (rather, I) decided we should jump on line for the the 7 Dwarfs (or is it dwarves?). When we got there the line was ridiculously long. It was about 5:30 when we got on line and it was backed all the way down the ramp by the old Skyway. Everyone on the line was being really friendly and the woman in front of me was saying that the MVMCP was sold out that night and she couldn't get tickets. Apparently she didn't know that she wasn't supposed to be on that line and someone behind me (I swear it wasn't me:rolleyes1) informed her of this and she still wouldn't leave. Close to 6 PM, a CM came around and checked everyone for wristbands....the lady and her family left after that:rolleyes:.

Finally, 6 PM rolled around and the Dwarfs came out :dance3:. The line was a little slow. We didn't get around to them until after 7. I can't believe we waited an hour to see them!!:headache:

We did get a really great picture out of it though:

We then walked into Toontown to go see the Princesses & their Princes. But hold on...there's Pooh!! We stopped to take a picture and Michael wanted to show off a few of his dance moves. Here he is "trying" to teach Pooh the running man..

Photo0717FourBySix-1.jpg

Then Pooh joined in...

And then we all took a picture together..

(continued in next post)

Okay so time with Pooh is done and we walk over to the Country Fair tent to see some Princesses.

The line was about 30 minutes long and Michael wanted to show off his dance moves to some kids on line. What can I say, the kid loves to dance!

The kids had on their jingling elf hats and the Princesses loved them. Each one asked about the "touch here" button and laughed when the hats turned on.

We spent a good five minutes with each Princess. Here are some videos:

Cinderella & Prince Charming

Belle & Beast

Aurora & Phillip

and some pictures:

When we were done, we bid our farewell to Toontown (so sad) and headed toward Tomorrowland. On our way, we saw Rapunzel & Flint (?).

He was kind of tall and he wanted me to hold his arm. You can see I'm really reaching for it here:

Photo0787FourBySix-1.jpg

We were on our way to find a good spot for the 2nd parade and stopped by a dance party on our way. Again, Michael wanted to show off his dance moves, or should I say dance move because he only knows one, LOL. I was upset because he walked away from me and started battling it out on the dance floor with Goofy and I didn't catch it on camera:headache::headache:. Here's what I got on video:

Tomorrowland Dance Party

Holiday wishes was going to start in about 15 minutes so we waited on the bridge b/w the castle and Tomorrowland and watched:

Holiday Wishes

We continued to the front of the park and saw Santa:

Photo0795FourBySix.jpg

and then found a spot on the train platform for us to watch the parade....

to be continued in my next post.

Wow, you got some great pictures at MVMCP! That one hour wait for the dwarfs was crazy, but it did turn out good.:thumbsup2

Your kids look so cute meeting princes and princesses. And your dinner at LLT sounds great! That's one of my favorite places and I usually do end up feeling just like that smiley. :rotfl:

love all the character photos at MVMCP! :goodvibes

It's lovely that Belle is in her 'christmas' dress... also exciting to see Rapunzel and Flynn! 'Tangled' just came out at the cinemas here & I saw it on Tuesday... I thought it was fantastic!! hoping to meet those characters during our next trip to WDW if they're around :cutie:

I always eat so much when I'm there. I LOVE ham and theirs is delicious. I made our 7 Dwarfs picture into a Christmas card at the pharmacy. I love that picture!

I still haven't seen Tangled!:guilty: Maybe next week I'll go to the $5 matinee while the kids are in school:rolleyes1.

I don't know how I missed this update :headache: Looks like you had a great time at the party, Love the dwarf pics!

Don't worry. I've missed so much more!!! I've been slacking again. Mainly because the stupid V on my keyboard is missing and it's hard to type a full report when you have to slowly press it. :headache: I'm going to try hard and finish this today!!:rolleyes1

Hey, .....sorry, I know it's been a while:guilty:. I am going to try and finish this report today.

Where was I? Oh! That's right. We got all of our nighttime glow thingys and climbed the stairs to the train platform. I found a spot in the corner next to Exposition Hall right up against the railing for the kids to sit and watch the parade. We got there about 40 minutes early because I wasn't sure if we'd find a spot or not. The kids kept themselves busy while playing with their new bubble guns and light up toys (thanks Natalie!!!:woohoo:). DH on the other hand took some nice shots of Main Street with his camera.

Finally, the parade began. I tried to upload my video because I recorded the whole thing, but it was too long for youtube and photobucket so I only have pictures.

I swear. Just seeing these pictures puts the song back in my head again...

Sing it loudly with me!!!

Once Upon A Christmas-tiiiiiiiiimme.....

Forgive me, I'm feeling a

this morning. Get it? Little hoarse? :rolleyes1

Ok, enough jokes.

So, the parade is over and we decided to do some retail therapy. We found the MVMCP pins and then went to Tomorrowland to see the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show. Now I heard a few people say they didn't like this, but Stitch is my favorite character so there was no way we were missing this one. The show was cute and I'm glad I got to see my love Stitch!!!!

This image was taken from the internet. Again, I recorded the whole thing, but it's too long for Photobucket and youtube.

totally-tomorrowland-stitch.jpg

After the show, we cut through Main Street again and decided to get some goodies to snack on before bed. We had carrot cake, brownies, a danish and some cookies and took them to go. It was around 12:30 when we started walking out towards the buses, our hands full of goodies and our bags, our legs tired and our lids heavy. Wait! There's the bus!!! Do we do the mad dash with this much stuff in our arms, :sad2:, we let the bus go. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the next one and it was crowded. We had to stand so I put my big bag between my legs and before I knew it, the kids were sitting on the floor and leaning up against my legs. Was the floor filthy? Yes, but the kids were tired so I didn't care. I had to wash jeans again anyway. Were there grown men sitting in seats, WIDE AWAKE, who could have given up at least one seat so my kids could sit? Yes. One even commented out loud "Look hon, they're so tired, they fell asleep sitting on the floor".:headache: I wanted to punch him. If you didn't want to give up your seat, fine, but don't loudly comment about how tired my kids are. Jerk.

We finally pulled into POFQ and I got the kids standing and off the bus. Tomorrow would be an early morning because I switched our Kona Cafe breakfast so we could be at HS at rope drop on Saturday.

Despite their cries of "I'm tired", I made sure the kids showered and got into their pj's before hitting the bed. They ate their midnight snack while the other was showering, so with clean bodies and full bellies, they were out like a light.

TBC...

So, silly me, I decided that we should eat an early breakfast at Kona Cafe after being out late the night before. Eh, we're on vacation!! I got up around 5 and got ready and then got DH up. We got the kids up around 6 and were out the door by 6:40. Thank God we had our car. If we had to depend on the buses, we never would have made it there on time. We got to the Poly, found parking and ran into the hotel. Whew! We got seated by the hostess and I knew what I wanted.....the infamous Tonga Toast. Two pieces of sourdough filled with sliced bananas, coated in batter, deep fried and sprinkled cinnamon sugar. I never had it before so I was really looking forward to it. I also wanted to try the French press Kona coffee.

Pictures of deliciousness anyone??

I really liked both. DH wasn't fond of the coffee.

We finished up and took the monorail over to Epcot. Yes I know, I left my car at the Poly. Sue me.:rotfl:

We were so happy that the weather was actually a little nice that day!! It was much needed after the 30 degree weather. 70 doesn't sound like much, but it was AWESOME!!

We walked in and had a few things that we wanted to do, but headed to the Character Connection first. The line was about 20 minutes long and the kids wanted to see their buddies so I waited with them while DH went to grab FP's for Soarin.

While leaving the CC, we ran into Baloo:

100_0167.jpg

Since I was looking for more characters, I noticed that I hadn't taken a picture with my favorite yet!! Since Stitch was at the front of the park, we headed there so I could meet with my buddy. Because, this trip IS all about Mommy ya know.;)

We find Stitch but he's leaving. I asked the handler if he was coming back and he said yes so we got in line.

When we got up to Stitch he spent a lot of time with us. I love Stitch so don't laugh at the video, LOL.

After Stich, we headed back towards the park. We actually got a lot done and during the day we were able to see:

Living w/the Land
Circle of Life
Soarin
Seas with Nemo & Friends
Captain EO

100_0187.jpg

Since we wanted to find some more characters in the countries, we decided to leave Test Track, Innoventions, Imageworks, Mission Space & Spaceship Earth for next time. On our way, we looked around the shops and I found some artwork that I liked. I wish I remembered the name of the artist. What I wish more is that I could have afforded to buy the picture!!

100_0173.jpg

On our way out of the gallery I saw....Stitch!!!
100_0171.jpg

We passed Club Cool and I wanted to try it out. Bobbi LOVED the Japanese vegetable soda and Michael LOVED the Chinese watermelon soda. The Beverly wasn't that bad. I guess it's good to cleanse the palate.

100_0190.jpg

When we looked at the times guide, we saw that Chip & Dale were out so we ran back to the front of the park to see them.

100_0192-1.jpg

We walked into the WS through the Canada side stopped at the DVC kiosk to talk to one of the guys there. I noticed he was from the Bronx (Boogie Down baby!) and after giving the kids rolls and rolls of stickers (which I threw out b/c they left them in the car, LOL), we got to talking and he convinced us to visit DVC at Saratoga Springs the next day. We made an appointment to be picked up at 8AM.

We walked toward England and saw Alice. The kids & I popped on line and DH took the opportunity to get some fish & chips.

100_0200.jpg

Alice asked about my shirt since it had Chesire Cat on it and wanted to know if he disappeared. I said only when I take the shirt off;). She didn't ask any questions after that, LOL.

While enjoying our fish & chips, I had the numbers to the red phone booths, so I had DH call one. He kept asking where the Bloody Queen was. He might have scared the kid on the line so they hung up on him. LOL.

Into Morocco we went in search of Aladdin & Jasmine:

Germany was next, but I will continue that in the next post...:wizard:

It's about time you had an update. Sheesh.

I wish I could hold my tongue better, if my kids were sleeping on the floor and I heard that comment I would have not been so nice.

We find ourselves in Germany. The first thing I went to was to Kuche-Karamelle. My 2nd time there is even better than the first. Bobbi finally got her vanilla cupcake and Michael picked out some caramels and I so did I. Something else was calling to DH so he went on his way to find some beer :drinking1. We walked to the side of the building and found Snow White.

Photo0907FourBySix.jpg

Photo0911FourBySix.jpg

After Germany, we headed into China to find Mulan:

100_0213-1.jpg

After China, we decided to head out of Epcot because we had (what I thought) was a 6:45 ADR at 1900 Park Fare. On our way to the monorail, we see Daddy_of_princesses (Mike) and family. We both had ADR's to the same place that night so we spoke about that and then went on the monorail, which stopped more than once on it's way to the Poly. We finally got there and got back into the car to drive back to POFQ.

TBC....

The key fell off the keyboard and there was this little plastic thing under it that made it easy to keep typing, but then that fell off too. Joy.

ok, this is probably a stupid question. Why didn't you put the key back on the keyboard?
