J5 and Family--The Vincelettes Hit WDW-Updated 4/19

Hi subbing to this one... my girls are 7 and 4... I'm interested to hear how your trip went.. it is great so far! princess:

What adorable girls you have!! I love that JoJo interacts with the characters esp at a young age (and so talkative!). My grandson will be 18 mos old this month and only says a few words we can understand. When we ask him "what does the kitty say?" he belts out really loud "meeeooowww!". It's hard to describe on here but it is the cutest thing :lmao: and when he sees a bird, he says "caw caw" instead of "tweet tweet" like his mommy taught him. Think he sees too many crows around here :rotfl2: He rambles on and on - just doesn't make clear sentences yet. I raised 5 kids and I still can't remember when they started talking clearly :confused3 (what a bad momma I am!)

Am really enjoying your report :thumbsup2 Great spot for Spectro too!

Glad to hear it!

Off Topic: We went to Busch Gardens today to check out the new Sesame Street area. It was cute, but crowded! I waited entirely too long to ride a little boat ride with Johanna, and then we hightailed it out of that area! I might try to hit it again with the kids during the week.

Jo did get to hug Grover, Abby Cadabby (I don't know if that is how you spell her name), and Zoe.

There's a cool water play area that will be nice when it's warmer.

We went the first weekend BG was opened, and they hadn't opened Sesame Street yet. My kids were bummed, and so was I. I want to get DS on the Cookie Monster "roller coaster" to warm him up for BTMRR and Splash Mountain at DW. :cool1: He's tall enough to ride The Big Bad Wolf now, but DH won't let him ride until he's 8.

just caught up with the rest of your TR and I must say that I enjoyed reading it.

Since you asked about POR and ASMu here ya go...
Out of the 2 I like POR better. One because it is a moderate resort. Two because the grounds are BEAUTIFUL and 3 because I like how there are different bus stop areas and how everyone stay at the resort doesnt go to one; i think that takes so much longer to get a bus that way with everyone at one stop (but that might just be me) and the POR food court/lobby area is really nice and from my experiences I think that their food court has more of a selection and quality then ASMu. I like ASMu even though its a value resort. I honestly dont care what resort I am at as long as I'm in WDW:goodvibes the pools there just get so crowded (again might just be my experience) and so does the food court but the suite itself is wonderful, i wish they had some at POR they sleep 6 and have a bedroom for the parents with another TV in it so the kids and adults can be watching 2 different things they also have a little kitcheny area which is nice to have (since we drive down we have breakfast in the hotel most days except on our down days to save time so thats why we like it)

hope this didnt bore you
sorry it was pretty long; i didnt expect it to go this long
but hope you enjoyed it

Thanks for reading! We had a wonderful trip and can't wait to go back.

Before you know it your grandson will be talking up a storm! I love when they are little and so excited about everything. It's cute that he says "caw caw".

I think both of my girls were 5 when they rode Big Bad Wolf. They love thrill rides now. Faith is tall enough for Apollo's Chariot this year, and Ruby can ride Loch Ness Monster. She was so annoyed last year that Faith could ride Loch Ness and she couldn't.

I wasn't bored at all. I really appreciate your input. I think on our next family trip I'll try Port Orleans. I think the kids will like the pool, and the pictures I have seen look really pretty.

I'm here! :goodvibes You have a beautiful family! :lovestruc I will be back to get all caught up. :thumbsup2
Hey! Thanks for popping over!

Thank you and welcome! I am going to work on the next installment in just a few minutes. I have to get the kids to bed.

I planned Tuesday to be an "off" day. We weren't going to get up early to hit a park. I scheduled a SEGWAY Tour for Jason, and I didn't tell him until we were on the plane headed to Disney. He was surprised, but I am not sure that he was excited.

When we woke up Tuesday morning Jason got ready, grabbed us some breakfast from Roaring Forks, and then he was off...More about him later. I gave the kids showers, and we decided to head out to the beach. We hung out there for a couple of hours. The girls played in the sand and on the little playground. (I know-why did I give them showers and then let them play in the sand? :confused3) I enjoyed the view across the lake and called my mom and my sisters to let them know how our trip had been so far.

While we were sitting there, Jason and the other SEGWAY riders rode right by us. The tour begins at Ft. Wilderness, but it takes the trail over to Wilderness Lodge and down by the beach/bike rentals. He didn't even see us!

When he was done he gave me a call, and we met up back at the room. He filled us in on his tour, and we decided what to do next. Jason, Faith, Ruby, and Johanna=swimming. Me=laundry.

I was only doing one small load, so it wasn't too bad. I took down my word search book and sat by the pool while the kids swam.

Here are some pictures from Jason's SEGWAY Tour:

I think he enjoyed this a lot more than he thought he was going to like it. As the rode around the tourguides gave them little trivia and information about WDW and WL. They stopped and saw the horses at Ft. Wilderness. He said the SEGWAY was very easy to use, and he'd definitely do it again.

I was going to put in some pictures of our room at the lodge, but I don't think they are that good or interesting, so I am going to skip it.

We must have eaten lunch at Roaring Forks, and then I took Johanna up for a nap. She and I both slept for a little bit. :woohoo: I love naps! While we were sleeping, Jason took the older girls to the hot tub. After our trip was over Ruby said the hot tub was her favorite part. :rotfl:

We cleaned up and got ready to head back to Magic Kingdom. Tonight we were having dinner at Crystal Palace. This was the view from our table:
ViewfromCrystalPalace.jpg

We ate here in 2007, and I ate here with my sister last October. Pooh and all of his friends are some of my favorite characters. We like the food, and the restaurant is pretty.

I think Jo was busy eating and didn't want to get up for the picture.

Piglet was next.

Finally we saw Pooh:

After dinner we headed to Tomorrowland. Jason took Faith and Ruby to Space Mountain, again. They rode it at least 10 times on this trip. By the end of the trip, this is how Jason felt about Space Mountain:

I took Jo to Buzz Lightyear, again. It was probably around this ride that she realized she could grab the joystick and control how the car moved. She thought that was fun. :cheer2: After the ride we got to meet Buzz! Jo told him all about how she rode his ride and had fun.

I love this picture, too:

After this we all met up again and headed to the Laugh Floor. We had never done this attraction, so we were excited. For those of you who have been to the Laugh Floor, you'll probably get a kick out of this. Johanna was chosen to play the part of Boo. The monsters said something like a cute little girl, flashed Jo's picture up on the big screen, and just at the exact same moment Jo stuffed her finger up her nose! The whole theatre laughed! We had a lot of fun.

We rode Winnie the Pooh again, and I think Jason took Faith and Ruby to BTMR. While they rode, I walked around, and I struck up a conversation with a very nice family from California. There were two teenage girls and they were on their first trip. They had a lot of questions, and I got to share my Disney knowledge. :thumbsup2 It was really fun to be able to do that.

Time to head back to the resort.

One last picture of the castle.

Next time: EPCOT and 'Ohana

(There may be a small delay because I haven't uploaded those pictures to Photobucket yet. I'll have to do that first.)
Thanks for reading!

I'm through page two and wanted to make some comments before I forget!

You mentioned how much you enjoyed the boat ride at WL. We felt the same way about POR. It was one of my favorite things about the trip - being able to take the relaxing boat ride to DTD. :goodvibes

Tom Cruise Island - :rotfl: Too funny!

Your littlest is a thumbsucker too, eh? I love pictures of little ones sucking their thumbs. :goodvibes My youngest is almost 5 and still sucks his, but I guess because he's my "baby" I find it very endearing.

We've been on the Great Movie Ride many times, but this last time I guess my middle son remembered what it was like and he hates the dark. He hid in my lap for a lot of it. :rolleyes1

I'll be back to read more later!

Sorry I have been M.I.A.-This past week was pretty busy around here because the girls were on Spring Break. We went to Busch Gardens three times, the park twice, visited my mom, and had Easter dinner with my Dad. I haven't had much time to spend on my report. :upsidedow

Hopefully now that everyone's back to school and work I'll be able to post an update tonight.

The day dawned bright and beautiful-and so were my girls!

Today we were headed to EPCOT. We had all really enjoyed it on our visit in 2007, and we were looking forward to the day. We hopped on a bus, and away we went.

Once we arrived at the park, we sent Jason ahead to Soarin' to get Fastpasses and we headed towards Test Track.
TestTrack.jpg

It took a little bit of for Jason to get to us (The Land is a haul from the front of the park!), but Faith and Ruby were too scared to go on Test Track alone. We just kind of hung out and waited for him. When we finally met back up, Jason took the girls on TT and I took Jo into Innoventions (whichever building is closest to TT.)

It was dead in Innoventions, and Jo and I walked around a little bit. Two very nice CM's asked if Jo wanted to be a Safety Tester or Engineer or something. Jo was mad because she wanted to play in the water outside by TT. (I thought it was too cold, but of course another woman had her little girl playing in the water. Jo was not happy with me!:headache:) Needless to say, the safety testing didn't go so well! I think she only did one of the tests-trying to break the TV Screens. The CM gave her the certificate anyway.

After TT (Which I think they rode a couple of times with Daddy and then with me, too-plus we picked up FP for later), we headed to :

I liked the changes! :thumbsup2 The computer part at the end was a lot of fun. Here are Faith and me enjoying our future lunch:
FaithandMommyFutureSE.jpg

After the ride we spent a little time playing the games. There were a lot of people though, and the games are not really quick. Here's Faith testing her memory:

We headed to The Land to get some lunch.

Sorry no pictures of food. I know Jason had chicken and I had the salmon-and it was yummy! I definitely think Sunshine Seasons is a good use of a counter service credit. :thumbsup2

Next, we rode Living With the Land. I love this little boat ride!

I am certain we must have taken turns on Soarin'-but I am not sure if we did that before or after Living with the Land. Soarin'=FUN.

Next we headed to the Nemo ride in The Seas. The queue for this ride is SOOOO long. I think I'd die if I ever had to wait that long for this ride. We visited the aquariums. We actually spent quite a bit of time in here. We all like museums, aquariums, etc., so the girls liked to look at each tank to see what they could find. Here are some of the things we saw:

Next we went to watch Turtle Talk with Crush! It was fun, and Faith got to ask a question! I can't remember what it was though!:confused3 I'll ask her in the morning! :thumbsup2

Next time: World Showcase

All caught up! :cool1:

How cool that your husband got to do the segway tour! I'd love to do the one at Epcot one day. :thumbsup2

Space Mountain 10 times?? :scared1: (once was enough for me :rolleyes1 )

I love Sunshine Seasons and Living with the Land. :goodvibes

Can't wait for more! :yay:
