to buy shorts!!

I have been into town and cannot find any at all. The only ones left in the sale are for size 8's - that's not me!

I have looked on line at Next and Cotton Traders and they all seem to be sold out.

Any ideas for me?? I was wondering in the NEXT shop at the airport will they sell shorts??

Hope you can help, I have visions of me in jeans!!!

Thanks

Kaylee

....... sounds like a job for ..............SuperShopper! But I'm afraid she's not around this evening.
Is it too late to try M&S to see if they have any in their sales? Perhaps you'll have to buy then out there - I'm no expert on that but I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Hi Kaylee

I know what a problem trying to buy shorts at this time of year is as I had the same problem when we were planning our Mexico trip. I did find some at Matalan - and also a couple of pair on the Sale rail at Debenhams. I was in our local Mackay's last week and noticed several pair of shorts on their reduced rail - many to below £5 - and not a size 8, 10 or 12 in sight! I know though that Sales vary from town to town.

I know this may not be too much consolation - but try not to panic about not having enough. The shops at the airport should carry a range of holiday wear, shorts, costumes and the like - but the prices will be reflective I think.

What about when you get to Orlando Kaylee?

I cant recall your plans or location, but you would certainly be able to get some really reasonable shorts at excellent prices once you are there. Florida Mall is enroute from the airport to I/Drive and WDW if you are desperate to have some as soon as you arrive.

If I can be of more specific help - let me know. If you lived closer, I'd willingly get the old sewing machine out! ;)

Not sure if this is of any help but I saw lots of Shorts for sale in Matalan at the weekend.

I'd just buy them out there if I were you!

When we went to WDW last December I stumbled across a 'holiday range' in M&S obviously designed for people going abroad out of season - there was summer gear, swimming costumes and ski wear. It was in one of their huge stores, so I don't imagine they stock it everywhere.

have you tried that catalogs? www.kaysnet.com or www.littlewoods.co.uk (those are off the top of my head, but I think they are right) I remember having this exact same problem a couple of years ago, and they were the only place I could get any.

otherwise, you will be able to get shorts in Walmart no bother - or most anywhere in Orlando for that matter. As long as you have one or two pairs to get your started.

Thanks guy's we are off to Matalan later - didn't think of that :D

Kay's looks good Bev, that'll be my second option. If not the airport and Florida Mall :D

You are all 'shopping stars':Pinkbounc

be sure and try everything on in matalan, Kaylee. I bought 3 pairs of shorts for Florida from there. Tried on the 1st pair, and bought 2 others the same size. When I went to wear one of the other pairs, I couldn't get them on, they were all marked the same, but one pair was definitely 2 or 3 sizes smaller than the others!

How about from La Redoute - think the website address is www.redoute.co.uk. I buy a few things online from their catalogue for all the family and I've got two pairs of shorts just arrived . . and believe me, I am DEFINITELY not an 8:p :p

Good luck, anyway, Kaylee. Hope you find what you need. Have to agree with everyone else about shopping when you get there.

My biggest quandry is what to wear to fly . . . normally when we go in May/June it's not too bad because we just put shorts in our hand luggage to change on the plane if the weather's not good enough for shorts this end. Going mid-October this year, I don't feel like turning up at the airport in shorts cos it might be freezing;), and I'm fed up with my hand luggage being weighed down with extra clothes, so looking for a compromise:D DH has some of those trousers that unzip to become shorts, not my kinda thing so I've got some loose, baggy three quarter linen trousers (probably look like Demis Roussos, but then comfort's more important:o  ;) ).

Well Matalan had only the yukky shorts left :(

I have ordered some from Kay's and may give La Redoute a try. I will know for next year to start looking early!!

Mrs Dazzle - when we flew out in Oct 2000 I wore a pair of trousers, a short sleeved t-short and guess what else a fleece!! (my first time in Florida) When they opened the plane door the heat really hits you !! I may be squeezing some shorts in my hand luggage (if I can get any LOL)

Kaylee

You can get them when you get here. Just run into a Wal-mart or Target and you'll find tons of shorts (on sale). Don't fret. :)

Annie, if you are going to wear flight socks - and want to be able to put them on and take them off on the plane, be sure to wear trousers that have loose enough legs, LOL - if you see what I mean!!
( ........ and believe me, you won't want to keep them on when you get off the plane in Florida ..... it's too hot!!! Isn't it Janice ;) ??!!)

Kaylee

Give Argos Additions a try - I recieved the catalogue a while back (they are online too) and they had lots of clothes which were very reasonable.

I am a La Redoute fan too but one tip is to order one size larger than you are as being French, they are a little on the smaller side

Other than that I would do as the others say and buy clothes out there!

:D LOL, Shirley - still thinking about the images of Janice staggering around the plane makes me laugh now;)

Yep - got our flight socks few weeks back from Superdrug - half price too, nothing like a good bargain. Only problem is they're black (haven't seen ANY flesh coloured ones anywhere), so I'm gonna look dead cool, hip and trendy waddling around Virgin's PE cabin with me 3/4 pale blue trousers and black socks:eek: Still, I'll whip my sandals off when we take off, put the socks on - plenty of room in the old trousers:) and then take socks off and sandals back on when we land . . sounds easy:rolleyes:

Kaylee - know what you mean about the fleece:) Last year we were almost at Gatwick and I suddenly had this vision of my best "Florida" cotton cardigan (for the aircon restaurants) hanging on the back of the bathroom door so I didn't forget it :o . Still, managed all the restaurants without shivering, couldn't find a replacement over there, but was worried about arriving at Gatwick 9.30am so picked up on the last day this really cool Winnie the Pooh black baseball jacket for $30 - excellent value:)
