I've just finalised our London Trip....

.... for New Years Eve.

Plan is to arrive at County Hall Travel Inn that morning, then in the afternoon we have a Taxi Cab Tour booked to take us round London for 2 hours, this will include Oxford St and Regent St Christmas Lights and also the tree in Trafalgar Square.

The cab will then drop us off at the Lyceum ready to see The Lion King, which we saw last year and absolutely loved.

We have also managed to book a cab to pick us up after the show.

We are then hoping to see some fireworks from the River near the Travel Inn - just waiting for info as to whether any will be going off this year.

What do you think? Any Londoners out there with any info on fireworks in that area?

It won't be as good as being at WDW but better than sitting at home watching the TV.

Can't help with firework info but it sounds good to me too ! I haven't heard of the two hour taxi cab tour - do they make stops at each of the places of interest for photos and a closer look? How did you book it?

Shirley - the webesite for the taxi tour is www.blacktaxitours.co.uk They offer various tours. And yes, we are hoping to get some photos! 2 hours cost £75 which I don't think is too bad, considering the taxi can take us down roads where only buses and taxis can go, like Regent and Oxford St to see the Xmas lights. The website also has a link to a great Travel Forum.

Richard - yes, we love the Lion King. The taxi we booked ahead to pick us up after the show was booked on 020 7253 5000, sorry don't have the name of the firm, this no was provided by the taxi tour company, but it's a black cab firm. They take your credit card number and your name, and then when we come out of the theatre they will have a card with our name on in the cab window, we then have to show them our credit card, just precautions so no-one else can steal our taxi!
