Ok, so... here we are: July 13.

22 Days since Yavn updated his newsletter.


Last time, he said he was on vacation around the world for two weeks. He said that the VMK team was "crazy busy."

He finished the newsletter off by saying "I promise not to stay away for so long next time" and to hint at items to come.

Well, we've seen the Nemo Pin set, and it's quite nifty. We see that some different colors/sizes of ALR stuff has been released.

What are we missing? Summer clothes? We have still yet to get our Straw Hat/Sunglasses item.

He also hinted at a new game coming to VMK.com.



So, obviously, this new game is the only one of the things above that must be sucking his time away. It's gotta be huge!


Or, Yavn's been kidnapped again (points still go out to that poster as having the craziest explanation).

So, what does August have in store for us? New clothes? And is this going to be a new VMK game (such as Pirates or Mansion) or a new VMK.com game (such as Expedition Everest or Nemo)?

This statement keeps playing over and over in my mind everytime i check to see if the newsletter has been updated.

i agree, short sleve clothes would be nice, as he said we would get them over a year ago, yea i remember it from back when it was the 2nd design of the site. But honestly doesnt the man have rights to a vacation? what if he chewed you guys out about not updating your signature?

If a ton of folks wanted me to change my signature every week or so, I'd do it. However, currently, the demand is just not there.


As for Yavn taking a vacation: I point you to the current Newsletter. Yavn had been gone almost a month, and the reason he cited was because he was on vacation. Who goes on vacation for 4 weeks, goes to work for a week, then goes on vacation for another 3 weeks?

Even so, he could easily ask someone to update it while he's gone.

But as Ant has pointed to: he said he would be posting soon as "I promise not to stay away for so long next time."

I think either a huge build is keeping him busy, or that in fact, may have moved onto another project at Disney or elsewhere.

He's got a lot more to his job than updating a newsletter that others most likely assist in writing and editing and if there is no big new news, other projects are a higher priority.

Everything else on the main page has been updated, why cant whoever does the comunity calendar and stuff just post a new newsletter even if it said Yavn fell off the big drop on the DLR Nemo ride and will be back shortly....at least it is something!

This is the part that is scary. Seeing as July has basically been an "asleep" month for VMK (when compared to previous months), you'd think they were ramping up for something amazing in August.

If there are no new news, during a month of relaxation, then I have cause for worry.

I too miss the newsletter. And, it seems to me that July would be a month where they would want to promote new things with kids out of school. I would think they would want attract new VMKers.

I google'd Yavn's real name in Google news to see if there was any mention of him leaving Disney. Nuttin. I guess that's good.

If there are no new news, during a month of relaxation, then I have cause for worry.

Sorry you see July as a month of relaxation. I have loved the new Nemo items, the recent double credit days (to help fund the cool Nemo stuff), and middles. I've really had fun this month.

And the cool fireworks for those that got to see them.

If they have something big coming in August, I guess i just would not expect to read about in on July 13th.

but the fact that Disney things were removed from his blog could mean something too- perhaps he got a job elsewhere and part of his departure is that he can't discuss disney anymore... or maybe he just had loads of vacation time built up or maybe he has a really bad cold... or maybe... oh I don't know

i think they should have a substitute for yavn. Like when he is not here. That substitute can take over for him, make the newsletter, play VMK. And everything else yavn does.

Like, he should be second in place to take over for yavn if anything ever happens.
