I've decided to 'wing it' for meals at DLP

I have studied all the restaurants & menus and I just couldn't decide where to eat. I'm not going to book anything and leave it up to chance. I understand that might mean counter service for us.

Is it difficult to get a same day or last minute reservation at the nicer restaurants?

you should be fine, except for maybe on Saturday (if one falls over your dates), especially if you follow Canadian habit of eating earlier ie before 8pm for dinner.

I have been to DLRP over similar dates and booked everything last minute, or with no advance booking, and ate at Walts, Blue Lagoon, Silver Spur, Auberge de Cendrillion (before it changed), and several resort restaurants

Thanks, that makes me feel better :)

Yes, we eat dinner at 5:00pm LOL!

We are going on a cruise before DLP, I have a feeling we will be sick of eating by the time we arrive there.

we have booked meals on the day loads of times.:)

The only meal we have ever booked before we arrive is Walts. We phoned from France last time we went to book lunch for Easter Monday -the day we were arriving.
We made the reservation for 1.00 but by mid day were flagging as we'd been up very early and it was so busy and hot. We went to Walts to ask if we could eat earlier and they couldnt find our reservation at all. Fortunately they were able to slot us in at 12.30 when it opened.

I know that was lunchtime but it was Easter and the park was heaving so I dont think you'll have any trouble early Dec getting a table.

It will give you chance to see how you feel and eat when you want to instead of trying to decide now when you want to eat. There are lots of choices amongst counter service as well which you may find is all you want.

We've managed Inventions and ADC at late notice . I think you will be fine :goodvibes

I'm going to just wing it as well. If we can get in to Cendrillon, great,
if not, counter food = more time for rides. That will give me a chance
to figure out the whole Disney in French thing. I've been to WDW and
I can't wait to see how it compares...I mean I know it will be smaller.
Do the staff - cast members - speak much English? Off topic I know.
Just wondering about the whole meal experience. I'll go read some trip
reports. :)

Thanks everyone, I feel much better now. at WDW I book all my meals way in advance and have a set itinerary. It seems the DLP does not have to be like this and we can relax and have no set plans.

Thanks again.
