Hoping that there might be a couple of Itunes experts out there.
I have recently bought a new computer as my old one died. I've installed Itunes on it and want to add everything on my iphone to my itunes library.
I have transferred my iphone purchases to the library on the new computer but there are still about 80 songs that had come from cds on the phone and I don't know how to get them into the library. It says that if I sync it it will delete everything off the phone and sync it with the library on the new computer and I dont want to lose all that music.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I recently had the same scenario happen. My old laptop died, I bought a new one and then tried to set up my new laptop with itunes and restore the song backup from a external hard drive.

I was afraid I was going to loose the info the first time I snyced the ipod so I set up an appt at the apple store "genius bar" and someone there set it all up for me.

He even restored songs from the ipod that weren't on my backup.

If you have an Apple store close by, I'd go there if you are nervious about doing something wrong. It was FREE too!

Good luck!

Connect to I-tunes on main page there is an option not to sync. That should transfer without issues. I've done it with I pods, never with an I-phone though.
