It's True: Dole Whips outside of Disney/Hawaii!

Strange but true! My girlfriend and I visited "World of Dole Whip" in West Hollywood yesterday. It seemed like they took over an existing frozen yogurt shop and slapped some Dole posters on the window and Hawaiian themed birthday party decorations on the walls.

It was set up as a self service place (as many froyo places in LA are) but they threw a counter up with a sign that said "You work hard all day. Let us serve you!"

We were told that the flavors on the left are yogurt and on the right are Dole Whip. The flavors today were:

Yogurt:

• Original Tart
• New York Cheesecake
• Triple Chocolate Fudge
• Red Velvet

Dole Whip

• Venturous Vanilla
• Wild and Deep Chocolate
• Big Hairy Raspberry
• Mega Mango
• Pulsating Pineapple

I got "Wild and Deep Chocolate" and GF got "Pulsating Pineapple." They both were very good!

I'm not sure what to make of this place. It looked like it was thrown together in an afternoon, and the website looks like it was made by a 10-year-old. I got the impression that it is just a temporary location to get the feeling of how people would react to Dole Whips outside of Disneyland/WDW/Hawaii. I can't complain since it's so close to where I live (GF and I walked there in about 45 minutes) but I kinda liked that it was exclusive to the parks/Hawaii!

Yeah, they are all over. I saw Dole Whips on the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA. Also sell them at the Kentucky State Fair.

I also saw Dole Whips at Dutch Wonderland amusement park in Lancaster, PA.

Yep anyone with a soft serve machine can buy the mix even you. So don't worry that you are getting bootleg Dole Whip. You know the kind that falls off a truck.

I'm sure if the store contacted their supplier they could get real Dole Whip promo materials, well really Dole Soft Serve promo materials (they officially dropped the whip part).

I was going to comment on the odd names but that's actually how they market it outside WDW.

Yea, it's not hard to get a hold of, we ordered it straight from Precision Foods, and used it in our Cuisenart Soft Serve machine. Now we live 30 mins from MK, so we just hop over there when we get the craving.
