If any parents with younger children 6 or under you might want to listen to this. I am 10 yrs old and on my first trip and second (last year and the year before) I cried my eyes out at 'Its Tough To Be A Bug'! The spiders and wasps might just scare the little ones and some of the noises will too. Other 6 year olds and under might love it!!!! Most kids though are a little scard. If you go on the ride (show) and your child gets scard there will be doors to your left or right and you can exit if your kid hates it. Any questions? Just reply to me right away.

:thumbsup2

Parents....you know your kid best. My son loooved it and the showing I went to had no kids crying...so take both opinions for what it's worth!

I have to agree with you. My son was 4 yr when we went and he LOVED it. I think it has to do with the child.

My 6 y/o granddaughter giggled through the whole thing. No crying kids at our showing either.

My 10 year old daughter was scared, but my 3 1/2 year old son loved it!!! I think it depends on the child!!

I think there are two different types of fear - fear of the thrill ride type rides and fear of the rides that have grey areas between what's real and what's not. My 8 year old is adamant she's never doing the It's A Bug show again. But those in-your-face 3-D shows have always bothered her. But the only roller coaster she won't get on is the one she's not allowed on for height restrictions. She likes Tower of Terror, but she is terrified of The Haunted Mansion... go figure. If your kid can clearly define what's real and what's not I think they'd enjoy those 3-D experiences.

Well that is true. It depends on the child. I am afraid of bugs myself and hate anything to do with them!! Most kids love it but if not read my first thread and see what you think. I am just warning the parents thinking about going to Disneyland and WDW that 'Its Tough To Be a Bug' might be scary but try it out on the little ones. I am talking about 5 and under too.

It would seem for 10 years of age you are pretty computer savy, you have a ticker and an avatar and have set up your signature, I been working on mine for some time. we were there during spring break last year and only one mom removed a screeming kid and that child was screaming when they walked into the studio nothing to do with the show. we set right by the exit door so we knew if anyone left. the theather was full both times we went in and eveyone seemd to love it each chld will be different but would hope everyone would give it a change it is a cute show

Each parent has to judge their child. My children loved the whole thing, and they were 2, 5, 6.

On our past trip we saw it twice and heard screaming in terrror kids both times.... One poor little girl was about 4 or 5 and was so scared that I wanted to smack her parents for not taking her out...she was crying in terror and saying, "I want to go HOME" It was awful :guilty:

I have a 10 year old son that hates that show. He is also afraid of bugs. He hates the effects. I really don't like the effects in the seats either. If you have a child who is afraid of bugs I would skip this. If you are unsure try holding them on your lap.

Kids are so computer savvy these days. It really amazes me what they can do. It scares me sometimes too.

EVERYTIME we go to this, some poor screaming kid is carried out by the parents! :rotfl:

One time the little girl seated next to my DH (looked like she was about 3 years old) started screaming and crying (and kicking!) when the spiders let down and she thereby climbed on DH and latched on to his head - she must have thought that he was her dad in the dark - and there was mucho confusion getting her to let go of my DH and out of the theater! :rotfl2:

I think if your kids don't like the dark, they'll be afraid of this...

Our twelve year old daughter has refused to go into this show again! She went to WDW with her mom and they did that show when she was ten and she hated it. She hates bugs and says she will stay out and watch the other kids! (Not that we would let her do that by herself, but just saying how much she hates that show.) I haven't ever seen it but we will probably pass until the younger kids are a little older.

DD12 still talks about the first time she saw the show.. she was barely five years old and wasn't impressed. We all saw it together for the first time. It was a slow season and we didn't have to wait at all. Afterwards we even stayed and watched it again.. but this time she sat on DH's lap - so it must not have been THAT bad !!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just laughed reading about you dh. I bet he was surprised by it!

i was 20 the first time i went on it and i HATED it! the spiders and the bugs and the effects they do freaked me out, and the stink bug was horrible. the smell made me sick for the rest of the day, it stayed in my nose the rest of the day.

I agree the parent should know.

 I'm 37 years old and I'm :scared1: terrified :scared1: of it!! But then again... I'm afraid of the tiniest spider... much less one the size of the entire screen!! Aw geez. I'm gettin' the willies just talking about it. Gonna have to hush now before I start freaking out and have a panic attack. :scared:

My kids were 3 and 15 months when they saw it and they both loved it. So I guess it depends on the child.

We were there on Monday and I had to take my DD6 out when the spiders came down. She was so scared and crying. We also went when she was 18months old and she cried then too. I guess she still wasnt ready for it. Both times we went there were always kids screaming and being taken out. DS who is almost 2 was fine with it. He didn't have the glasses on though. It just depends on the child. I dont think DD6 will ever want to go to it again. She loved riding Expedition Everest though.
