Its tough to be a bug with no glasses

What if I take my 3 year old into ITTBAB and I don't let her wear the glasses? Is there anything frightening (besides darkness) that she will experience? I'd like our whole family to see it instead of me or my dh waiting outside (we have 2 other kids 10 and 8) but I don't want to scare her>

There's more to ITTBAB than what you see on the screen, so I don't know that having your DD sit in the theater without glasses would be enough to calm her fears. Without giving too much away, would she be bother by feeling something "move" under seat or the sight of insects?

If you have the child on your lap instead of their own seat they will miss a lot of the senosory type of things.

I agree with Terry S. If you keep the child on your lap, they can experience some things without everything getting to scary.

I had the same thought when I read about some kids' reactions to ITTBAB (before our trip). My DD6 was still pretty scared by this last summer, and she took her glasses off almost immediately when the show started. There is plenty to see, hear, and feel without the glasses on that can disturb little ones - I think they also react to everyone else's gasps and screams around them. She wasn't traumatized, but she said afterwards "I don't want to do that again". HTH-

There are HUGE spiders with glowing eyes that drop from the ceiling. And as if that wasn't enough, a life size Hopper (from A Bug's Life) sics the spiders on the audience. Hopper isn't on the screen....he's about a 4-5 foot tall audio-animatronic figure. There are hornet sounds, bug sprays, mist, and creepy crawly things on the benches.

If your kid freaks easily, I really would just pass on this attraction. It's not worth it to have them not speak or not do any rides because they're so terrified!
