I booked our first cruise this week! 4 nights on the Dream Feb 6/17. My husband has been "never, nope, not ever doing it" whenever I have mentioned a cruise. But after our great last 7 days trip to WDW in Dec, he wavered so I booked right then! I thought 4 nights was about the right "starter" for us. And knowing that Disneys deals with allergies well, sealed the deal to book with DCL.

Planning to do 2 or 3 nights at WDW, 4 night cruise, then another 2 nights at WDW before we head home. Not sure on which resorts yet...thought AOA but also maybe splurge on a deluxe for one of the weekends.

365 days and counting!

It's never to early to obsess.... be excited.

There is no such thing as too early to be excited over a Disney cruise. If you really want to have fun with it, you can download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on your phone and set your countdown clock. Then, every time you open the app, the countdown clock to your sail date will appear, down to the second.

It's definitely never too early to get excited! 376 days and counting for us :teeth:

Not even close to being too early. We're already excited about our June or October 2017 cruise that hasn't been booked yet. As far as resorts go.....if you have kids I can highly recommend AoA in one of the family suites. That has become our resort of choice at WDW. We've stayed there, 2 different All-Stars, The Contemporary and Polynesian Club Level. The family suites at AoA are fantastic and the whole hotel just has a great vibe. Enjoy your cruise and have fun planning.

It's however a bit like Christmas if you see Christmas goods in the shops in September, and start to buy then, well you loose the magic and with three months to go, when it comes it's over in a flash as Christmas Day as a % of three months is very low. The same as a cruise, getting to wrapped up too early it will be over in a flash, keep wanting time to lass fast till the cruise you miss other important things and it's come and gone in a flash.

Try to do normal things and the important things in life, do not stay here, loosing time on the Internet, but spend your valuable family time together, their far far far more important, only start to come here around 130 days pre cruise to top up your knowledge.

Ohanna means family, and family means no body gets left behind. Relax, do not over plan do not over obsess as it forms cruise (OCD) obsessive cruise disorder and you spend from 7 am to 2 am here and that is not good for you. Family first. Have a life outside! We are only here once.

I was that husband for a good while. I finally gave in in 2012. We just booked our fourth DCL cruise last week. I was surprised by how much I have enjoyed it. DD15 is getting older and asked if we could cruise again this summer and I think I got more excited than her when we booked. I've been bouncing off walls planning for this and a WDW stay. She says she's excited, but she must have a lot more self-control than I do because she just looks at me blankly as tell her each additional detail of my over planning.

So, no I don't think it's to early to be excited. I actually calculate my period of excitement about the trip as part of the return on my Disney investment/obsession. I might need help, because I am actually getting excited for your trip. I think lurking and posting on this board helps me keep the excitement level up until my trip, so thanks fellow Disers.

Not to worry, I'm definitely not planning to spend every minute here until then! A few stop ins here and there but it's fun to get excited!

You sound like a man who found out the hard way @DISNEY FANTASY.
Too much time on here and not spending it with your family whilst at home and on vacation with blogs and posts.
I hope you and your family are happier and more of a family now you are not online so much.
