Ok, here’s the deal. My professional life is well….it’s insurance. I sell insurance. A very dry subject.:bored: Before that I worked at a local wine store for almost 8 years. Well, I still work there, but only to escape the work of indemnity. Yay. I decided that my family, consisting of myself, my DW and two DS’(Tom-7 & Kellen-1) needed to get the heck out of dodge for a week or so. So where else to bring the gang? Yeah, that’s right, nowhere. We’re going to Disney World people! :hyper:

So the arrival date is a little ways off, August 24th. But I’m not anxious or anything. :crazy2: It’s not like I’m writing a pre-trip report to get out most of my excitement or anything. Ok, how about a little background on the extent of Disney expertise we as a family possess. Kellen :darth: (DS1), well…he’s 1 year old. That pretty much sums it up right there. Tom :stitch: (DS7), he’s a Toy Story- Incredibles-Cars-freak. He’s also a fan of other non-Disney films like Ice Age and Shrek, but who isn’t really? I forgot to mention the fact that I’ve been slowly turning him into the next biggest Star Wars nerd, not unlike me. =) DW :tinker:, her age isn’t important, is a GIGANTIC Tinker Bell fan. She doesn’t like it very much when I show her pictures online of supposed Tinker Bills, and I have the bruises to prove it. Now, myself :yoda: . I’m a self proclaimed Disney authority. I spend hours trolling the boards here,:surfweb: and….shhhh….at other sites as well. Shame, I know. I’ve been to the world about 7 times. The last trip being in 2002. That’s almost forever ago in Disney years:sad1: . I have a thing for useless knowledge, not just about Disney either. My mind is bursting with facts about movies, cars, wine, cooking…oh yeah there is some insurance info in there too. I know I didn’t mention how much of a Star Wars nerd I am, but think of George Lucas…and you’ve pretty much got me. But younger and better looking. I'm telling the truth here people, Kellen's middle name is Anakin. Yes, Anakin, as in Anakin Skywalker, you know, Darth Vader. I'm a geek, yes. I’ve always stayed at the AS resorts. I stayed at ASSp when it was new! Movies too. Moving on….my unaged DW has been to the world once…I think. It was a family thing with her sisters CM in-laws. So this time around we’re staying at ASMo. Remember Tom the Toy Story fan? Well, we’re aiming for a Toy Story room…bizarre huh? :confused3

Clipping on….

We have some ADRs, Sci-Fi Drive-in, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace. Places I’ve never eaten at…with the exception of Sci-Fi, but that was waaaay back in ’95, and I don’t remember much about 12 days ago, let alone 12 years ago. Ugh. We’re also going to try for a breakfast at the Poly. I’ve heard so much about this Tonga Toast thing that I can’t leave without being able to chime in on the boards about it just once. Did someone say obsessive? I know I heard you. Come on, you can say it again. I know it’s the truth.

Now we’ve been watching the three different Disney planning DVDs I have floating around the house (I heard it again!) and have gotten Tom plenty psyched for the amount of fun he’s going to have:hyper2:. Though as excited as he is we’re pretty sure he doesn’t know the extent of fun he’s really going to have.

Ok, I hear Kellen fussing in his crib. Time for me to go for now. There will be more, oh yes there will be much more.

Thanks for reading ladies and gents!

ok Tom!!

I am in and waiting to hear about your trip...once it happens!

And FWIW...are you getting free dining? We went last year in Aug...1st week of free dining...it was crowded. I think you will be good though because a lot of schools will have started by then. Either way...you will have fun.

Are you doing a waterpark? Where are you staying?

My dd7 is a HUGE Tink fan too....

Oh Tom - this is gonna be a good one !!

I'm in for the duration, looking forward to the report once you go. Have a GREAT time.

Greetings and salutations! Thanks for jumping on board! We are getting free dining, even though we're arriving on the 24th. We're getting it from the 26th to the 31st of our trip! That was an adventure in itself! I'm hoping for the fact that a lot of hte southern schools will have started by then. We keep hearing about how hot it's gonna be. But I'm not scared. With all my useless knowledge, I can beat any amount of heat!

How's it going!? Glad to have you aboard! My next update might not be for a while, but there will be one though, I promise. Oh, just for the record, DS7 is Tom. You can call me.....Dre. But I'm not a doctor. Insurance, remember?

Thanks for giving me a little of your time on the boards!!!

Complete touring schedules are going to be determined as to which park our lunch ADR is at.

The first day, 8/24, is the Sci-Fi, so obviously we'll be at MGM. After lunch, we'll probably make it back to the hotel to rest up, and then perhaps go to MK for some rides and Wishes. DS Tom asked me yesterday if he could stay up late when we were in Disney and see the fireworks. I told him assertively, YES.

Day two lunch is at the Coral Reef at Epcot. So the morning will be spent there, and after some more rest time at the hotel we'll probably head over to the AK. The boys should go nuts over the Kilaminjaro Safari! After that, we might go back to Epcot to see Illuminations.

And, because I'm at Insurance-ville right now, and the rest of my ADRs are on my computer at home, those are the only ones I can remember right off the top of my head.

I got some of the pictures from when I went to the world with my mother, and I might try to get some of them up....just to spice things up a bit. Once I get home and check out the rest of my ADRs I'll post a some what sensible travel plan...at least from my point of view it will be.

Thanks for sticking around folks! This thing should take off as the date gets closer!!

I think that is everyones fear!! No one will come!

But here we are, ready for more!!

Ok folks...
I got the rest of my ADRs and now I can write something of a schedule of events. Ok, lets see here....

Keep in mind that some of these places are for the atmosphere completely, and the fact that we have free dining...something I don't think DW quite has grasped to idea of yet.

On August 27th we have a dinner at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, I hope Tom can keep his elbows off the table. I've told DW about the 'what color is the soap in the bathroom' thing, and she's ready for it! I've eaten here three times I believe and have always liked the cozy feel to it...and the fact that they have KILLER meatloaf. I'm a sucker for a good meatloaf. :rotfl2: Now that's dinner...and we have lunch open...any ideas there? We're on the dining plan so there isn't much that's out of our range. Maybe a CS meal that everyone thinks is to die for?

The 28th is an open day. I did this on purpose so we don't have too much of a rigid schedule. Maybe we'll water park it this day, or heck, go shopping!

29th is shaping up to be a big Epcot day. Lunch at the Rose & Crown, mmmmmm....Black and Tan:drinking1....excuse me. I should be drooling like that at work. Sorry. Ahem. So, then we're going to have one of the in room babysitting services watch the boys for the evening and DW and I are off the Le Cellier! Which, if you knew we were from upstate NY by the Canadian boarder, you'd think we were nuts to go there when all we need to do is cross to boarder to get almost the same meal. But I love Canadian dessert wines. And I've heard Le Cellier has some GREAT ones from Inniskillin. After we eat, I'm not sure what we're going to do. Perhaps grab a boat to the Boardwalk and see what the nightlife is like there. I've never seen the place after 5pm.

And now we come to our second to last day. Once again, lunch is open. Ideas once again are VERY welcomed! Dinner is at the Crystal Palace for a little character dining. On more thing I've never done at WDW! I'm sure Tom will love it, Kellen on the other hand...I'm still kinda nervous that he won't much like the GIANT mouse or GIANT duck that he'll be encountering. But I'm sure he'll be fine. He's one tough toddler.

So that's the plan for the time being. Not very cohesive, but I wanted to be able to be flexible at all times during our trip. I don't want to boys to remember that their first trip to Disney was run by Dictator Dad! I like the ring of that.....hmmm...maybe I should change my SN to that. :lmao:

Anyways, thanks to everyone who's jumped on board! I hope I can make this as entertaining as some of the TRs I've been reading out there.

"We're gonna need a bigger boat."
