It's one of THOSE days, how much does this cost to repair?

I backed out of my garage today, I was in a hurry, and you guessed it, ripped off my side mirror.  How expensive is this? I have a Saturn.

This day BETTER get better or I'm going home and going back to bed!

I rolled my Saturn SL2 a couple of years ago and tore off the mirror. As I recall, the mirror, a new wheelbearing, and repainting the rear door was a little over $500 and the mirror was the least expensive item. I think you are talking $100-$200 installed if I am remembering correctly (Saturn's are very modular, so this should be a simple repair). Let us know how it goes. It is possible that they just need to reattach the mirror.

We did the same thing with our dearly departed Civic a few years ago, and were dreading the cost. It ended up being only about $80 from the dealer.

Another Saturn owner here. I did that once and so did my dd:(
The powered mirror runs $200 and change installed. I hate when I do that:(

My 19 yr old daughter ran into a mail box last week and busted her side mirror. She blacked out while driving (we think her blood sugar dropped since she got off her diabetic diet). She has a 91 Ford Escort and the cost is around 62.00 at the dealer. My husband said it looks easy to put on. For now it's taped up since we had to replace the windshield @ 145.00.

Years ago we had a broken side mirror on our old VW Cabriolet. DH used epoxy to fix it. LOL! It looked awful. It's funny now, but evertime I looked at the mirror I just shook my head...:o

I hope you get your mirror fixed without it costing much. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get a new windshild for my VUE. (See my windshield thread.)

DH did the same thing to his Saturn a few years ago. He and another driver both decided to change lanes at the same time - into the same lane. He lost his mirror (it was just hanging by the electrical cord) and had a huge red streak down the driver door. He buffed out the red and then he reattached the mirror using duct tape (of course - ) and caulk. Its been 3 or 4 years and the darn thing still works just fine. It looks hideous, but works fine.

Thanks everyone. We talked to Saturn (DH didn't even say anything, just called, I love him!) and they said $150. My dad works at a parts store and thinks he can get it cheaper but is it hard to install? It's not motorized.
