Thats right, all this reading and talking about camping and buying campers, we couldn't stand it, and we are going camping for the weekend! It is going to be HOT, but, who cares, give me a chance to remind DH just how great camping is, and get him in the mood for camping at the Fort.

I am so excited....only bad thing, we wont get there until about 8pm tonight....yuck, but, we still have all day tomorrow and Sunday! :goodvibes

Maybe I can try to get DH to work on a Mickey head lamp post!

False alarm! My mom went to rent us a camp site, and they only ones left were in the blazing sun with no trees, so, no camping for us...sad, but true.....

The backyard! That is hilarious!!! Our backyard is terrible, basically a straight down drop, completely worthless. We got estimates to have it "fixed," the price tag was around $10k, needless to say, still a steep drop off worthless, $25k piece of land!

I called a few other campgrounds, but they also have no decent spots. I figured since next weekend is the 4th next weekend would be crowded, but wasn't expecting this weekend to be crowded.

At least I found out before I had everything packed!

We're going to Gatlinburg for the week of the 4th. We have a "cabin" rented, so the broken MH stays home and we travel in our van and cargo trailer. We went last year and were able to get a last minute site in the Newport KOA...a little farther away than we wanted, but it was cool most of the time. We were even able to rent a 6x Pickup from Enterprise with space for the wheelchairs and all the kids. (It just happened to be returned while i was at the counter trying to figure out how i woud fit three wheelchairs in a sedan.) Judy had the place decorated like we were at the Fort, except she put red white and blue clothing on the Mickey lamp. People referred to us all week as the Disney people. A flag, some patriotic lights, table cloth, and the patriotic Mickey made the week.

We love Gatlinburg! We normally visit twice a year. Once around Christmas because it is just great at Christmas, and then normally during the spring. My parents rented a 3 story cabin this year for my mom's bday, it was great! Our entire family was all together for the first time in a few years!

My DH is being sweet about us not being able to camp, and is going to look into the directions for the Mickey lamp tonight.
