Hi all! We just returned from another trip to the World about 3 weeks ago and we decided to visit the AKL and eat at Boma one night. My daughter is a HUGE zebra fan so we had to take her to see the zebras, lol! Anyhow, I'm hooked and our next trip will be at AKL. Even my husband, who swore up and down this was his last trip to Disney, said he would come back if we could stay at AKL. Gorgeous resort! I don't know too much, so I figured you all could show me the ropes and answer any questions I have. As we get closer to booking, I'm sure you'll "see" much more of me as I'm one of those obsessive planners

We have a savanna view. So, based on this and the "OH SNAP" follow up emails I assume we want a 2nd floor room i.e., one on the Kidani lobby level, correct?

Are the same type of animals viewable from Sunset and Pembe? Our DD6 loves giraffes.

Correct! Sunset Savannah has the giraffes, plus countless other animals! Second floor (yes lobby level! ) would have you feeling more "eye level" with the animals - rather than looking down on them!

Hi everyone I have been missing for a few days...I think
We have been super busy with some family issues, which as of today look like they are going to straighten out.

We are trying to get ready for our vacation. We leave a week from today. Always seems so much to do in the last week.

I will try and go back and read what all has been going on. But I have to ask. Why do some of you have pole dancing COW?????

My hubby usually doesn't care where we stay, he just goes for the food! I can tell you that I usually "trim" the cost when I tell him what the total is for our trips What he doesn't know wont hurt him or my vacations, lol!

We did GF for our honeymoon, CBR our first year with our girls, Polynesian our second time with our girls, and the last 2 trips have been Pop with 2 rooms as we let each of our girls bring a friend and teenagers suitcases seem to explode after opening, lol! After our last trip a few weeks ago, I swore I would never do value again. Maybe in my older age, I just can't tolerate a lot of noisy, screaming kids, etc. It was either that, or my mother accompanied us and she couldn't tolerate my 4 teenage girls and their giggling and loudness and put a damper on the trip, not sure. I anticipate our next trip will just be hubby and I because my kids are graduating and college bound, one next year and another the year after. They are Disney'ed out. I on the other hand could live there. Surprisingly, when we visited AKL, hubby was on board for another trip "soon" he said. Who knows when that will be though as we already have travel plans to Mexico for next year as a gift to my DD for graduation before she leaves for college. I would LOVE to be able to go next year. Time will tell and tucking away extra money here and there without being found out will also be the key!

Same thing here (I'm the DH in this case), we already had our Nov trip booked, but after visiting Boma on our last trip, we're planning an AKL stay for next April, just waiting for discounts for that period. It hooks you in, doesn't it?
