Good Morning everybody! Just got back on Friday night from my first ever stay at AKL. All I can say is WOW!!

We took LOTS of pictures .... of everything!!

Thought you would all want to see yet another picture of the beloved Zebra Domes! And yes, they were tremendously yummy! Only wish I could have brought some back with me.

That being said, I'm battling a nasty cold, and have a pretty decent case of medicine head. When I saw the pics...I had to look at the calender and make sure it wasn't Friday...

You know...I think the amount of torture kimmar is doling out, by not giving us deets on the countdown thingie, might violate some tenet(s) of the Geneva convention.

Granted, we're not enemy combatants or victims of war....but still.

I already forgot that she was teasing us, there are so many willing to tell us about their trips...

This is round 2 with this particular nastiness. About 3 weeks ago, it was a quick hitter that was gone in about 2 days.

About a week ago, it started with round 2 in the rest of our house. I was the last to succumb (Sunday-ish)...though it's hanging around with eveyrone. It's lasting lots longer, and is much nastier, this round.

Coughing fits so bad that, no joke, it threw my back out last night (which is lots of fun to deal with when you're already feeling miserable). Our house sounds like a TB ward.

Still..this too shall pass. Some mucinex, 1000 mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours (for my back), and nyquil before bed...I'll live.

You know what would REALLY make me feel better, though? If kimmar told us about her potential upcoming trip/countdown thingy........

Do you have a "savannah view" or "standard view" booked? If savannah view, I'd request 2nd floor (which is the lobby level). Being on a lower floor, you will feel closer to the animals!

There are 2 savannahs at Kidani, Sunset & Pembe. I have stayed on Sunset, but not on Pembe yet, which I believe is a smaller savannah.

We have a savanna view. So, based on this and the "OH SNAP" follow up emails I assume we want a 2nd floor room i.e., one on the Kidani lobby level, correct?

Are the same type of animals viewable from Sunset and Pembe? Our DD6 loves giraffes.
