It's Never to Soon to go back to Disney: My 1st PTR- Sept. 2009

Hi Reese,

I followed you over from another trip report and actually I wasn't going to post b/c I've posted on like a 100 trip reports today!! but I saw that your travel dates are almost identical to mine and you guys are going to MNSSHP on the same day as me and my 3 bffs....so of course I had to say something!!!

We too are just wearing some Mickey headgear for our costumes. I've bought 4 pairs of Mickey antennae (will post photos on my PTR) for us. I'm also bringing glow necklaces and some glitter eye makeup to make us a little more festive. :cutie:

Maybe Devon would like a glow necklace? I bought mine from Target in the $1 section at the front of the store & you can get 12 pieces for $1. I think it takes like 3 or 4 pieces to make a necklace...I just thought this would be fun b/c I always want to buy glow stuff at MK but I never want to spend the moolah!!

Anyhow, can't wait to hear more about your trip...LOVE the disney movie night pre-trip idea -- I only wish there were dvd players in the on-property rooms so we could fall asleep to disney movies when we're at the resort.

Are there certain food items that you're looking forward to at your ADRs?

Hey there!! Thanks for posting!!! I am going to post this response and head over to your report...

The first year we went to MNSSHP, only Devon got dressed, I didn't realize how many adults actually go all decked out too!!! Judy and I were originally just going to get Halloween T-shirts and do that, then Devon had said why don't you just wear ears!!! I jusy love how that boy thinks of things!! :rotfl: So we decided to just do that instead!! I was so excited that I found them at the Disney Store, b/c I would they would have cost us each at least $20 there!! I love your idea with the Mickey antenna ears and glitter!!!

Thanks fo the heads up about the glow necklaces!! Devon too always wants to buy something lighting up during the night time parades and fireworks. I was just at Target today too!! I am going to try the dollar store, I think I saw them there!! There's another thing to add to the list of things to buy for the trip!! :rotfl2:

Umm!!! I am looking forward to ALL the food!! :lmao:

But, I love the rib eye steak and garlic mashed potatoes at WC and am looking forward to trying the steak and chicken at Teppan Edo.

As for the breakfasts, I am allergic to eggs, so basically, bring on the bacon, home fries and fruit!!! :lovestruc

So here's a crazy question for you all... Am I the only nut that thinks of things they want to buy in Disney before hand??? I started compiling a list in my head what I know I want!! :rotfl2: It's offical, I really am crazy!!!

Umm no, you are definitely not crazy! I do that all the time. LOL! Have you seen the gift shop threads where they post pics of all the stores? Those are evil. Though surprisingly this trip I didn't go too nuts on souvenirs.

Well, not much to report from my neck of the woods today!! Devon left last night to go to the shore with his dad and his family till Monday, so I'm bored and lonely!!! :guilty: So, I figure, what better way to make myself feel better then some Disney thinking!!! :tinker:

So, I started out today bright and early... Headed to Wal-Mart, Target and Kohl's to do some shopping!!! In 3 quick stops I got just about everything I needed for our trip. The only things that I have left to buy for the trip now is travel Aleve and Advil and thanks to Tink (aka Beauty and the Best) Glow neacklaces!! Thanks girl, picking those up will save me a fortune!!!

The only reason I went to Kohls was to grab Devon a new belt for school, but what else do I get?? Another freaking Phillies shirt for Devon!! Like he really needed anothe one, but in my defense, he really has been wanting the Phillies shirt with the P on it, and inside the P is stars and strips. So, now he has it and it was on sale.

I also got the cute little HSM notebook that I mentioned in a previous post today... For a $1, you can't beat it!!! It's small and I will be able to keep lots of notes from my trip, so I can report them back to you all accurately!!!

So, after a few hours of shopping I head for home with all my goodies... I get half way home and I feel like my bladder is going to stinking burst right then and there (damn DD iced coffee)... I pull into my development and for some stupid, stupid reason think it would be smart to grab all the bags and run for the house before I pee myself... What do I do??? I freaking trip, the bags go flying and of course I have a glass jar of tomato sauce that breaks all over everything!!! Yes I am an idiot!! As least I was able to salvage all my goodies except my new toothbrush for the trip! Not a biggie, bought a new one already!!!

Oh yeah, I haven't posted an update since Thursday before soccer!! Guess what??? Devon scored his first goal in his scrimage game!!! :cool1: So proud of him!!! And I got my final grade for my accounting class... A baby!!! :teacher: Now if I can get thru finance this semester, I will be very happy!!! Seriously do not want to be starting classes again this week!!! :surfweb:

Well that's all I got, heading to the beach for the day tomorrow so talk to you all later!!! Hope you enjoy the rest of this weekend!

LOL, no! I do it too! I list stuff I want and stuff I think the kids would like, plus birthday and Christmas gift ideas. Josh saw my list on Thursday and just rolled his eyes! I reminded him that my birthday is a little more than a week before we leave and I wouldn't mind if he bought something on the list for my bday :lmao:

yes I would have been laughing too if you peed your pants:rotfl: but I feel bad that you fell. At least you didnt ruin too much stuff. A toothbrush isnt so hard to replace.
:cheer2:Yay for you getting an A and devon and the new phillies shirt you got him. I am constently buying new phillies stuff right now when I see it cause everything is on sale. My mom just bought ryan an awesome eagles hoody for his bday in nov. I need to get some new eagles stuff for myself. and nicholas only has one jersey and its dawkins so he needs something new too. I miss dawk already by the way. He was one of my favorites.

Have fun at the beach!

I did the same thing with groceries once, only I broke a jar of pickles. Holy cow did our garage smell!!!!

I got our glow sticks at Target in the dollar spot, but it was closer to Halloween. They come with connectors to make them into necklaces or bracelets. The kids wore them to MNSSHP on their necks, wrists, head etc and on the stroller and bag. We weren't hard to spot walking down the street :rotfl:

Ha Ha!!! No I have not found those threads yet, and I think it's better if I don't... I'll be even broker then I am right now, if I really start planning what I want to buy ahead of time!!! :lmao:

Ha HA Ha!!! no, I think I would have rathered peed my pants thou, it would have been easier to clean up!!! :rotfl2:

Well, I am glad I was able to add some laughter in everyones life... Come to think of it it would have been funny!! :upsidedow

Yes... Eveything was on sale!!! A few weeks ago when I was at Modells getting Dev's soccer cleats, they had World Series shirts on sale for $5!!! Of course Devon wouldn't let me buy him one b/c he said it says 2008 World Champs and we are now in 2009!!! No Sh*$@ it say 2008 Dev... That's when we won!!! Ugh that boy!!! I know, I need to get some new Eagles gear myself. I think my mom and I are going to the pro shop next weekend. I would really like to find a tank top so I can wear it in Disney! Devon and I share our jersey... And we have Dawkins and Westbrook, ( I miss Dawk too!) so I want to get at least one new one this season... Dev really wants the Vick jersey, (he and his dad and uncle have always been big fans of him) but I rather get a Jackson jersey... I think mommy is going to win here!!

Have fun at the beach!

I know, even though I cleaned it up and used HOT water, I can still smell it on my door step! :confused3

I was in the $1 section in Taget yesterday and did not see them, but I know they have them at the $1 store too, so I will try there and if they don't I know I will be in Target again before we leave so I will be on the look out!

Hello! :goodvibes

Finally got caught up on your PTR!! While reading along I had a million things to comment on and now I'm drawing a blank.... My brain cells have been dying ever since I've become pregnant and it's quite sad. :rotfl:

Your son is so handsome, he's going to break a lot of hearts when he gets older... Looks like you have a great relationship and he's lucky to have a great mom who takes him to WDW so much. :thumbsup2 And how AWESOME you got box seats for him at the WWE, isn't it such a great feelling when you can make your kids so happy like that.

I'm just like you .... I have to plan my DD's outfits for each day of our trip. I'm taking advantage of it while I still can. I know there will come a day when my opinion on what she wears won't be an option.

I would love to give you some suggestion on books but I'm not really sure what you're into... I hate to admit it but I'm a big young adult reader... I like books that are fun and don't require a lot of deep thought. :rolleyes1

I really wish I could remember what else I wanted to comment on... I think i need to start taking notes when I read someones ptr/tr so I can respond to everything I wanted to at the end.

I hope you have a wonderful trip.... I'm so jealous you leave so soon... I have over 6 months to wait for my upcoming trip.... make sure you take lots of pictures! :goodvibes

Hi there and thanks for chimming in!!! Pregnancy sure does screw up a woman's mind doesn't it?? :rotfl: But it is so totally worth it in the end!

Thanks for commenting on Devon's good looks!! :rotfl2: He gets it from his mama!!! :lmao: And I am told all the time that he is gonna be a heart breaker, so I am trying to prepare myself for those issues now! I think Devon and I do have a great relationship.. My mom tells us that we act like brother and sister sometimes! It's amazing how much love you have for your child and how much love they have for you in return. Your a mom, so I know you get that!

Well I am glad to see that there are quite a few crazy planning moms outthere that plan out their kids outfits!! :yay: Yeah, not too sure if Devon is going to let me tell him what to wear each day, but I am sure as heck gonna try!!

Since you like young adult books, have you read the Twilight books yet??? I didn't think I would enjoy them, but man I couldn't put the suckers down once I started. I read all 4 books in about 3 weeks!!! I am all over the place with what I read, I just get a book and hope for the best! I am a fan of Mary Higgins Clark and Nick Sparks... Right now, I am about to finish reading Columbine, geese I don't know what I was thinking getting that book, it is so sad, but it gives the fact of the incident and it is really engaging.

You can bet on it!!! I will be taking boat loads of pictures!!!

Hi there!!! Well as you can see, I am not at the beach!!! BOOO!!! :beach:
Long story short, tomorrow is my dad's birthday, and I didn't realize until after I talked to my mom last night that she was planning to have his birthday dinner and cake tonight, and since Devon is down the shore, my brother Tim is away at college and my other brother John is working, I decided to be a good daughter and stay home to celebrate with him!!! Ain't I so nice!! So :bday: dad!!!

Well that's about all I got at the moment!!! Coming up all the many things I WANT to BUY when I'm in Disney World!!! :rainbow:

The only things that I have left to buy for the trip now is travel Aleve and Advil and thanks to Tink (aka Beauty and the Best) Glow neacklaces!! Thanks girl, picking those up will save me a fortune!!!

Glad I could help!!! The glow stick things were in the $1 section, but we really had to comb the whole section to find them...in fact, my husband gave up! But I kept searching and found them.
Also heard (from the Budget board - thanks disers!) that you can get them at dollar store, joann fabrics, walmart and micheals.

Love love love HSM - all of them! How cute that you have a HSM notebook.

Go Devon!! I used to play soccer when I was a kid...I had little Smurfs on my cleats :)

I would love to give you some suggestion on books but I'm not really sure what you're into... I hate to admit it but I'm a big young adult reader... I like books that are fun and don't require a lot of deep thought. :rolleyes1

Me too! It all started w/ a little boy named Harry...;)

So glad you posted again this weekend Reese! We're getting REALLY close now!!!

what a great daughter you are to skip the beach. It probably would have been a little chilly anyway. I dont know about philly but we were only in the 70's today. It was beautiful out! Not beach weather though.

Well I have a little girl right now who is three and I'm already dreading the day when she's a teenager..... I think she's going to break her share of hearts too. She's such a daddy's girl so everyone is assuming my little baby boy is going to be a momma's boy. ((not in a bad way :lmao:)) I'm really looking forward to raising a boy, it looks like so much fun! :thumbsup2

Yes, I've read all the Twilight books! :cloud9: I'm proud to say I was into them before they became extremely popular. My BFF and I met Stephenie Meyer and got her to autograph all of our books, it was really an amazing experience, she's so talented. Which BTW have you read her book THE HOST,..... if not that's one I def. suggest reading. One of my new favorite books is called THE HUNGER GAMES. Sorry I can't think of the name of the author, I loaned the book away.:confused3

I am actually going to check out the dollar store either tonight or tomorrow. Devon has been askingto go there since last week... Why, I have no idea, like the boy doesn't already have enough crap laying around the house!!! :rotfl:

Yes, the HSM notebook is so cute, glad I found it!! I'm sure Dev is going to think it is his, but oh well... It's mine and he is just going to have to deal with that!

Smurfs on your cleats! How cute!!! I loved the smurfs!!!

I know, I am so stinking excited for this trip!!!

Yeah your right, it probably was a bit chilly down the shore!! How about this weather?? It is suppose to be beautiful all week!!! I really want to turn the air off, but Devon has asthma so I don't want to risk it!

Raising a boy is so much fun!!! My mom tells me all the time how difficult I was especially when it was the dead of winter and I insisted on wearing a bathing suit!! :rotfl:

How awesome is that, that you got to meet Stephenie?!?!? She really is a very talented writer! And I think the Twilight books, hands down were the best books I have ever read!!! I have not read the HOST. I actually just saw it the other day. Whats the basis of the book? I think I may want to read it!

HECK YA!!!! Harry can't be beat!!! When I was finished with the Potter books I thought I would never find another series I liked until I found Twilight a few weeks later. :thumbsup2 Thank goodness!

I have not read any of the Harry books?? Have seen some of the movies thou! My brother has been trying to get me to read them for years!!! So, you think I would like them then???
