It's my first college spring break...I'm going to Disney World! Mar 12 (Updated 6/18)

I was gonna text you to tell you I updated today since I know you love Epcot, but I forgot. I'm glad you discovered it on your own

:rotfl: That may be the most unique DIS meet ever ;) If it's near me I'll try to come! I'd love to see you!

Yeah I finally have some free time because my online class doesn't start till the beginning of June, and I don't start working one full-time job and one part-time job till sometime in the middle/end of June, so I've been DISing a lot in anticipation of having no free time.

It really would be the most unique DIS meet ever! I'd especially love it if you could meet my cousin...if you saw the video on Facebook, she's the one who danced with the giant Oreo. That pretty much sums her up. The rest of my coworkers (the few I choose to associate with outside of work, I mean :rolleyes1), are awesome and crazy, too. I'll definitely let you know when and where it is, I'd love to see you, too!

Disney World has delicious fruit. ::yes::

So pretty and peaceful.

This sounds familiar. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the flower pictures. I sure missed them this year, and I am looking forward to next March already!

They do have really good fruit!

The WL dock reminds me a little bit of the lake in Vermont :)

Yes, many DISers are familiar with the Soarin' power-walk ;)

I loved seeing the flowers! They were beautiful!

Ugh I'm starting my job hunt :surfweb: :rotfl: If I can't find anything, I'm gonna take one or two summer classes. My school has two summer sessions; one goes from mid May through the end of June and the other one goes from the beginning of July through mid August. The second one ends right before I leave for Vermont, so it would work.

Sorry for the delay in posting again! But it's time for more Epcot fun!

We walked behind all of the topiaries to get some World Showcase pictures.

We relaxed on a bench for a few minutes, and then started walking to the Land to use our Soarin' Fastpasses!

DSCF9645.jpg

When we got there we grabbed more Fastpasses to use later, and then hopped in the FP line!

As usual, we had a great ride :thumbsup2 As soon as we got out of the Land we took off so we could get to our ADR on time.

I took a bunch of pictures on the way to Italy!

I'm always amazed at how clear the water is in Future World.

Sand sculpture! They were still working on it but it was pretty much done. It was hard to get a good picture because there was a pretty big crowd watching.

I saw this at one of the Flower and Garden booths. I thought it was adorable but there's no way my mom would've let me put it in the yard :rotfl:

Germany...

DSCF9666.jpg

We made it!

DSCF9667.jpg

DSCF9668.jpg

DSCF9669.jpg

I think we got there right on time and went inside to check in.

The only complaint I have about Via Napoli is their lobby. It's really small and between the people checking in and the people trying to walk up and get a table, it gets really crowded :crowded:

Anyway, we got seated within 10 minutes. Our waiter was very sweet and he checked on us a lot and made sure we always had everything we needed! He also talked to us about Italy for a few minutes. Talking with WS cast members from other countries is always really interesting!

I got the pepperoni pizza. As you can see I took a bite before I remembered to take a picture :rotfl: It was sooo good!

DSCF9670.jpg

My mom got the mushroom pizza, which she loved.

DSCF9671.jpg

The pizza here is soooo good. I want to try other things but I doubt I ever will because I love the pizza so much!

We skipped dessert so we could get something from the bakery in France a little later.

Continued in next post...

After lunch we back-tracked a little bit so my mom could check out the caramel store in Germany. We didn't end up buying anything. I'm not a big caramel person, but my mom is. I was surprised she didn't get anything.

We stopped to look at the little village. They were having their Flower and Garden Festival too :)

DSCF9675.jpg

I love the details!

DSCF9676.jpg

DSCF9677.jpg

We walked back through Italy on our way to explore the other half of World Showcase.

I had trouble getting pictures in Japan because there was a big crowd watching the drummer and I was trying not to get in anyone's way, so I just got a quick picture.

DSCF9685.jpg

I did a little shopping while my mom waited outside.

Off to Morocco

DSCF9690.jpg

While we were walking, some guy bumped right into me. According to my mom, he was watching the belly dancer and wasn't watching where he was going :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

DSCF9691.jpg

DSCF9692.jpg

We went to the bakery to get our desserts. The line was out the door, but it went pretty quickly.

I got chocolate mousse. This was soooo good!!!

DSCF9693.jpg

My mom got cheesecake but I forgot to take a picture.

DSCF9694.jpg

DSCF9695.jpg

DSCF9696.jpg

I have no idea why this picture is so dark. I think Tigger might have been under a tree, plus the sun was behind the clouds.

DSCF9697.jpg

DSCF9698.jpg

DSCF9699.jpg

I'm not sure why I don't have any UK or Canada pictures. I think we might've used the bathroom so I put my camera away and forgot to take it out again :confused3

Disney duck!

DSCF9700.jpg

I'll stop there for now. I don't have many Epcot pictures left, so next time I'll finish up this day and start our exciting day at Animal Kingdom!

The preschool lost a bunch of enrollments this summer, which means now I am NOT working there full-time, so I should take another summer class...but I just can't bring myself to. I know I'm pushing back my graduation, but I think concentrating on one class at a time, especially since it's my worst subject, is the way to go, especially while I'm working two jobs.

Love the Epcot pictures, of course. And I love love LOVE the Rabbit topiary!!! He's my FAVORITE aside from Goofy and really needs to be a meet and greet inside the parks!

I want that mingo for inside my house. He could live a nice life down in my Old Key West den. :goodvibes

Pretty flowers and topiaries, and the sand sculptures are always cool to see. The movie, Chimpanzee, was good, and we will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

We will be eating at Via Napoli on the 27th. I am torn between the mushroom and the prosciutto and melon, just because it is so unique. The only request I am going to have with our pizzas is to ask them to pull them out about three minutes sooner, before there is any dark brown or black on them. I like a lighter crust. They may think I am crazy, but I am paying the 'big bucks', so I hope they will honor that one request.

One summer class is fine ;) I'm gonna have a hard time concentrating on summer classes if I end up taking a couple. Being in school in the summer seems so wrong :rotfl: I was really hoping to get a job at Target but there are no jobs available at the one near me. Same thing with a few other places. I still have a bunch of places to try though!

Hmm I never thought about getting the mingo for inside the house  I don't know how I would've gotten it home though. It probably wouldn't fit in my suitcase.

I never saw Chimpanzee but I want to!

We've never had the prosciutto and melon but my mom loved the mushroom!

I'm trying to get caught up on your report. I got really far behind the last two weeks of school and never caught up. I'm still 17 pages behind but I'm catching up  :thumbsup2

Summer classes are divided into two sessions over the summer, so the math class would be twice a week, three hours a day, which is far more time than I want to spend at school. Plus I'm taking just the online science class this summer, which means I can concentrate on one class at a time now. Taking a summer class is definitely going to throw me off, but I am SO glad it's an online one!

Yeah there are two summer sessions at my school too. I should see if there are any online summer classes!

Time for more Epcot fun!

I mentioned earlier that Spaceship Earth had been closed all day. I checked Mobile Magic and saw that it was open again, so we went back to Future World.

DSCF9701.jpg

I remember there being a longer wait than normal. I think it was 15-20 minutes.

I think they were having problems with the ride, which is why it was closed most of the day. It stopped a couple of times while we were riding, but it didn't really bother us. After that we went to Ellen's Energy Adventure, and then made our first trip to Club Cool. I can't remember which ones we tried but they were good. My mom almost tried Beverly on her own, but I'm a nice daughter so I stopped her :lmao:

DSCF9702.jpg

We went into this building with the Epcot timeline on the wall to relax for a few minutes.

DSCF9703.jpg

I can't even remember where that building is. I think it's attached to Club Cool? We had never been in there before, but there was almost no one in there and it was air conditioned so it was great :thumbsup2 I took the opportunity to call my dad while we were somewhere quiet.

DSCF9704.jpg

DSCF9705.jpg

After I got off the phone, we left and went to ride Imagination again.

I took a couple blurry pictures.

DSCF9707.jpg

DSCF9709.jpg

When we went to the Seas earlier, we skipped the ride because the line was long, but now it was a walk-on so we went in.

DSCF9713.jpg

That's where my Epcot pictures end. My camera doesn't take very good pictures outside at night, so once the sun sets I usually just use my phone. I keep forgetting to do this, but eventually I'll put my night time phone pictures up.

Anyway, after Nemo it was time to use our second set of Soarin' Fastpasses. We were in line next to a family with two little boys. The parents were a little nervous about the ride but we told them it was a lot of fun. They loved it, and so did the boys :thumbsup2

After Soarin' we went to go find a spot for Illuminations. We got a spot on the bridge in between France and the UK. We were there an hour early, but it was worth it because we had an awesome view!

Illuminations was amazing as always! We followed the crowd out of World Showcase. On the way out we saw a 20-something year old guy leave a cup on a fence post and say something like "The people who work here can clean it up, they get paid." He was about 10 feet away from a trash can. I think one of his friends ended up throwing the cup away, otherwise I would've done it.

Anyway, we followed the crowd out of the park. I think we got on the second WL bus. I wasn't upset about not getting on the first one, because we ended up getting to sit. We definitely would've had to stand on the first bus.

When we got back to WL it had been about 6 hours since we ate lunch, so we were hungry. We went down to Roaring Fork to use some quick service credits!

DSCF9717.jpg

Yum!!

I have to stop here for right now. We're going out to dinner with my grandma in a little bit. I'll start our AK day later tonight or tomorrow!

You discovered the hall of quietness. Don't tell anyone else about it. :ssst:

Nice of you to stop Mom from drinking Beverly, but I have to say, a Beverly-drinking Mom face would have made for a fun picture. :rolleyes1

It's always interesting to hear first-timers anticipate what Soarin' will be like. :

Too bad the healthy young man didn't have enough energy to throw his cup away. :sad2:

A seat on the bus after park time is always a nice thing. ::yes::

Looking forward to going to Animal Kingdom next time!

I had no idea that nice, quiet hall existed!! I must find it the next time I'm there! It stops at 2007? :confused3

I tend to forget that not everyone is a DIS'er, so not everyone knows about Beverly, and some do try it by accident. :lmao:

Hi there! I'm subbing in just now. I had to read along because the only resort I've ever stayed at is WL. I've stayed twice... once with a pool view, once with a woods view... I think both times was on the 3rd floor, same wing- if you're standing in the lobby, it's to the right, but the second section- the side closest to the bus stop, but furthest from it. We ALWAYS took the boat to MK or the Contemporary when we were going to Chef Mickey's.

Also, my dad works in Boston... he commutes each week.. lives in Indiana, flies out of Indy and then flies to Boston- every Monday morning TO Boston, every Friday morning OUT of Boston.

Also, I wanted to tell you- your pictures are great... they're in perspectives I've never seen before. I love the elevated pictures of the topiaries from the Monorail. It dawned on me as I was looking at your pictures- I'VE NEVER looked out the window of the Monorail over EPCOT before.
Also, the picture you took of very clear water, looks like it's fake. It looks like one of those nature pictures your computer comes loaded with as a background setting.

Great job so far! Can't wait to read about your Yak & Yeti experience. I loved it.. hope you do too.

I won't tell, I promise ;)

I'm sure the look on her face would've been great but I decided to be nice

Yeah that guy with the cup really annoyed me :headache:

I love being able to sit on the bus. Having to stand after a long day of walking is no fun!

Yeah I don't know what happened to 2008-2012 :rotfl:

One of these days I'll try Beverly just to say I did, but I'm a little scared :lmao:

Hi! Welcome to my report! Thanks for reading!! :goodvibes

I love WL. Taking the boat to/from MK is one of my favorite things to do now. It's so relaxing!

Wow that's quite a commute  I can't imagine doing that every week!

Awww thank you for the compliments on my pictures!! :goodvibes I do try to take pictures from different angles so I don't have too many pictures that look the same every year. Definitely make sure you look out the monorail window next time! It's an amazing view of Epcot!

Once again, sorry for the delay in updating. It's time for some Animal Kingdom adventures!!!

Sunday, March 11

We woke up around 8:00 this morning. The night before/early that morning the clocks changed for Daylight Savings, so we lost an hour. I was very upset about losing an hour of my Disney time ;)

My mom had woken up before me and told me it was pouring, so I went out on the balcony to see for myself.

Yup - definitely a rainy day.

DSCF9720.jpg

But we weren't going to let a little rain ruin our day, so we got ready and went down to the bus stop around 8:30. The bus came within 5 minutes, and we ended up getting to AK around 9:00.

DSCF9721.jpg

DSCF9723.jpg

DSCF9725.jpg

We actually ended up almost making rope drop by accident. AK opened at 9:00 and we got into the park at about 9:03.

After we got inside I grabbed both of our KTTW cards and took off.

DSCF9727.jpg

Where was I going on my mission?

DSCF9729.jpg

DSCF9730.jpg

Note the lack of crowds.

You can tell it was a gloomy looking day.

I found my destination:

DSCF9737.jpg

DSCF9738.jpg

We had a 9:30 ADR, so I was pretty sure we could be back to the safari by 10:50.

I turned around and met my mom back at Tusker House for breakfast! We checked in a little early and we were seated pretty quickly.

Blurry pictures to show you where we were sitting.

DSCF9739.jpg

DSCF9740.jpg

There were no characters around yet so we went to get our food!

DSCF9742.jpg

Yum

The disadvantage to being a party of two is that we always get those little tables. It's not usually an issue, but this one was in a weird location. My mom had to keep getting up to let the chararcters get by her chair. There were also kids at the table behind my mom (across from me) who kept getting up and crowding around the characters while they were taking pictures with other people. So it was kind of chaotic, which is probably why we look weird in our character pictures  I'm just gonna post a couple of them.

DSCF9747.jpg

DSCF9748.jpg

DSCF9749.jpg

After a delicious meal, it was time for a safari! :cool1:

We grabbed another set of fastpasses, and then went in the FP entrance. The stand-by line was only a 20 minute wait, so we walked right on with our fastpasses!

Our driver, Ed, was amazing. He was probably the best one we've ever had.

I'll stop here for now. Next time, another safari and adventures in the rain!

Not going to lie, when I read that the giraffes were running, my first thought was, "giraffes run?" I don't even know.

Tusker House looks sooooo good!! And I love that pic of you and your mom with Goofy!

I didn't really know they could run either. I don't know why I thought they wouldn't run :confused3 I guess I never really thought about it

Tusker House is amazing

It's a rite of passage! You must! :rotfl:

I know, I really need to try it

Hopefully, when the rain stopped, it stopped for good. :thumbsup2

Nice safari ride. A lot of animals were stirring. :thumbsup2 You got to see the lioness up, and that's a treat.
