THANK YOU EVERYONE!
OK, so the bad news was that I got bogged down at work until about 3PM and was unable to go on my b-day but it allowed me to open up Thursday and rally my dad and lady to go spend the whole day!
We arrived about 10:30 and the parks were both as empty as you will ever see them. The entire day we waited 5-10 minutes for all the most popular attractions, rides like Space and Thunder Mtn. were literally walk ups with no wait and even TSM was no more than a 10-15 minute line all day.
OMG, we experienced TSM for the first time and rode it twice in succession! The ride is a blast and very, very fun although my only issue is with those silly trigger pull thingys. I wish it was a button or trigger, thats all.
The day was very fun and a perfect b-day celebration and getting to spend time with loved ones at our favorite fun place is always special!
I wanted to ride The Lilly Belle but we wound up riding in the kaboose car on the other train running and it was fun. I love the Grand Canyon / Primevil world diorama, great stuff!
We had lasagna at the Trattoria in DCA and it was much better than last time we ate there when they seemed to have a much larger menu. They gave me an ice cream for my b-day!
Also, we brought my dog Buddy who loves Downtown Disney and seeing all the people and were able to see him every couple hours at the kennel. We bring a blanket and some chew toys and he really doesn't mind the air-conditioned room, especially when we can get a cage with the a/c vent blowing air right in his face. Just walking Buddy around the entrance area and DD is really fun as he loves the crowds and the crowds love him!
We ended the night with a Gumbo sourdough bowl and after Tiffany went to go get Buddy and hang out with him while we rode Splash and Indy to finish off the day. Best of all, Buddy loves riding the tram, it is like the one ride at DL he can enjoy!
I honestly could just take my dog to DLR, ride him on the tram a few times and walk him aorund DD and the entrance area for an hour or two, get a snack and that would be a fun afternoon, all without even entering either park!
Throughout the day we rode Big Thunder twice, Indy twice, Space three times, Astro Blasters, Splash twice, the DLRR a full loop and at DCA we hit Soarin' once, ToT twice, Grizzly RR three times, Mulholland Madness once, Toy Story Mania twice, Cali Screamin' once and we enjoyed Chili dogs on Main Street (my dad's fav snack) in the AM and had lasagna in the afternoon for a long 90 minute lunch where we relaxed and I was able to put out a couple fires back at work. It was a great and perfect day!
The parks were so empty all day, it was something you don't see very often on a beautiful summer day!
You must go for your b-day... what can be better than nobody disagreeing with everything you want to do all day? Whatever I wanted to ride and as many times as I wanted as well as whatever I wanted to eat or snack on, no debates or anything, what could be better?!
Thanks everyone, I had a great b-day at DLR!
