It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Nice update Paula! I always wanna eat at AG, but no one ever wants to spend that much on food. :( Looks like you got a great spot for WOC too, despite that rude family trying to push into your spot.

It's a nice parade no matter where it is. Disneyland is just easier to go to from here, so I would prefer it be there, lol. One day we'll get to WDW.

The Halloween Parade was just a couple little floats. Nothing big. But they didn't forget Stitch on that one at least! He was dressed as a Pirate. It was cute!

Nice update! We did Ariels Grotto for the WOC too, and I had the Tri Tip as well. I loved it! So yummy. The desserts were good too, but the appetizers I wasn't that fond of. It was ok, but I guess I like the more unhealthy snacky kind like mozza sticks! Lol.

Sorry about the family at the rail though, but at least they got over it! I did the same thing and put my camera away for the show. It was amazing.

I'm hoping to catch the Halloween Parade such as it is this year. Even a couple floats is better than nothing!

We really liked Ariel's Grotto... Good Food! I likes the appetizers but then I love charcuterie (except olives) and I liked the salad!

You are a woman of discerning tastes. I do not like olives at all!!!!

Olives to me taste like Dirt! Thankfully there is usually someone I am with that loves them so I do not have to feel guilty for not eating them.

Yum, the tri-tip at AG was so delicious when I had it. Yum, yum, yum. I'm glad you liekd it too, even if your meal did take forever! Great update Paula.

It was so good!!!

I love doing the Ariel's Grotto for the WoC dining package.......I've done it twice & will do it again when I want to see the show. Mike & I did the picnic & did not like where we ended up standing. We were on the railing, but this area was just packed with people & I get a bit anxious being that close to strangers. To me, to get the full picture, you need to be in the middle area (preferred dining) to really see all the effects to their fullest. I'll pay the price for the meal....which we found to be one of our best meals last summer!

I loved the food and the view. Definitely something I would do again!

Oh, totally! I love that one. It was so fun to see that one at night when it was at DCA. I wonder if we'll ever get it back :sad1:

The tri-tip at AG is yummmmmmy. I always order it when we go there :thumbsup2

Boooooo to those peeps at WoC. That seems to happen all the time, why are people so rude? :confused3

I couldn't beleive those people! I was so lived but then they calmed down and it worked out okay! But Seriously we waited at least 40 minutes before we were even let into the viewing area and over an hour inside the viewing area....

To make matters worse I had drank a lot of Tea and badly needed to visit the little girls room but I didn't want to lose our spot!!!

I've been reading your trip report but haven't posted yet. I am researching Disneyland as I've been to WDW 13 times, but never been to Disneyland yet.

You have some great pictures! I am getting excited about Disneyland.

One question, is WoC something similar to IllumiNations at Epcot? I was hoping to see pictures of it, but I see you were busy enjoying your show, so that's ok. :)

It's been MANY years since I have seen illuminations! I would say 12 years at least so I am having a hard time remembering! I do have video of WoC from the first 2 times I saw it so if you are interested I can get those posted somewhere...

I have pics of WoC in 2 of my trip reports listed below if interested in seeing pics. I can't help on the comparison since I've never been to WDW. Go to the first page of the Diva's TR & Summer (10 of us) TR to find out what page I have pics. Hope that helps!

If you can make it in October I will go to AG with you! So worth the $$!

Paulaaaaa!

Just wanted to say hi, hehe.

And as much as I hoped to update today I am just too exhausted to put my thoughts together!! Sorry!!

Well, I can still do that if you'd like, but I figured we already talked about how tired and frazzled we both are you deserved another free pass. On occasion I can be a little compassionate. Only on occasion though ;)

Oh my goodness I am SO tired! I went to Togo's to get hubby a sandwich and literally almost fell asleep standing at the counter!

I'm going to bed in a few minutes... Hoping I actually sleep as good as I feel I should!

Paula, you poor thing. I hope you get rest.

And now it was time for the World of Color!

But!

I actually put my camera away and enjoyed the show without a single photo!

And can I say! Spectacular! Excellent view from the Preferred Viewing area at the railing! Really enjoyed the show and highly recommend the Ariel's Grotto dinner with Preferred Viewing.

Putting your camera away and enjoying the show was a wonderful option to take. Glad you held onto your railing spot.

They both take place on a lagoon, and that is about all that's similiar.

Well I am finally going to post an update! It's been awhile. I've just been so tired and a lot of stuff going on at home but I will keep chugging along on this TR and I hope you all continue to follow along!

June 9th began a little differently that the previous days. It was NOT a MM (despite being a Thursday) and the official park opening was 9am instead of 8am. This meant we would be starting our day 2 hours later! It also meant sleeping in a little! Instead of the alarm set for 5am it was set for 6:45!

I don't remember what delayed us in leaving the room but we didn't get out quite as early as I had hoped. This put us a little farther back at the gates and therefor the rope drop but we were still there in time for the official opening.

Some Random photos as we waited for Rope Drop.

I made plans with Kim that she would head to Princess Fantasy Fair while I went to get us FP's. I wasn't thinking how far Space Mountain was out of the way though when I made that plan!!

I walked as fast as I could to SM while Kim hiked it to PFF. She actually got there FIRST and let families go in front of her while she waited for me. I was huffing and puffing by the time I got to her!

And then it was time for some Princesses!

So I had been told once upon a time that the Original Three Princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty) are there first thing in the morning. Apparently this does not hold true during busier periods when they do the Coronation Ceremony and Storytelling daily. Instead I was told during these times I may find the original 3 in PFF only once during the day from the 7-7:30pm time slot...

It was great to do PFF without a wait but slightly disappointing on not getting any of the Classic Princesses!

Same 3 we saw last summer when I took Addy. We went twice & it was the same 3.....would be nice to see them mix it up a bit!!

I would have loved to see Tiana. We saw Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella in June when I took Boo. I wish there was a way to know which Princesses were there when you got up to the head if the line.

You met Ariel! :)
I haven't 'met' her since she had her own little m&g where the fairies are now. She didn't have her legs yet back then. :rotfl: It must have been right around the time when Finding Nemo came out because me and her had a discussion about me being the princess of the Pacific Ocean and if I knew Dory and Nemo because they lived there. :goodvibes

princesses :lovestruc

Now I love a disney princess, but it still irks me that they use that space for the PFF. I loved the Snow White show they used to put on there and miss having a show at DL :sad2:

Aww! Hopefully you can catch some different ones in October! Maybe the 1st thing in the morning will work for getting the Classic Princesses since its not the summer.

I went to PFF a couple trips this time so you will have to wait and see who else I got to meet!

Since they switch out pretty much every half hour I think it is hard for them to say. I've gotten to the front of the line many times only to have them switch right before I got there.

I know nothing of the show! I heard they were going to redo that area though so who knows what will happen to the Princesses!

We saw it once in 2005, if I had known it was going to go away, I would have made an effort to see it lots more during that trip!

It was along the lines of Aladdin - great acting and singing, elaborate props, etc. which told the snow white story.

Sounds like they're going to put a show back into that area & the princesses will hold "court" down in the Plaza Pavillion to the left of the castle. Of course people then were questioning what are they going to do with all the school & dance groups that perform there.

That 2 extra hours really let a lot of people get there for RD, but you still got close to the front which is impressive.
