It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Great updates! I really enjoyed your Aladdin pictures. I felt like I was right there watching the show. But...my favorite part was seeing the return of the missing hearse! :yay:

:thumbsup2 Great photos!

Thank you!

 Hope it goes away (and not just for an update). You deserve to be migraine free. I did say I was gonna be on the ball about this didn't I, lol.

It went away but then I was working a 12 hour unexpected shift so that exhausted me!!

I was so happy to see the hearse after seeing your photos of it missing!

Great update on your TR and the photos are very nice.

Thank You

When we were done swimming and resting we decided Food should be in order. We were going to be heading back to DCA so I called Disney Dining to see if I could get a PS at Wine Country Trattoria. I believe I made a 6pm reservation.

We headed back to DCA where I wanted to see if we could still get a California Screamin FP. Indeed we could! Grabbed the FP and then hopped on King Triton's Carousel!

Kim having fun!

My fish!
ry%3D400

Walking around the Pier we found no line on the Silly Symphony Swings. However we were the last two to find swings and had to ride one of the double seats. :lmao:

From there it was on to dinner. When I was making my plans I had decided on Ariels Grotto for our WoC meal but was still wanting to try WCT so I was hopeful it would be a good meal!

When we got there I discovered I probably didn't need a PS. The place was pretty empty!

The menu... can you read it!?!?
ry%3D400

We started with the Frito Misto...
Calamari, Artichokes, Mussels and Green Bans all Deep Fried!

It was so tasty I forgot to take the picture till it was almost gone!
ry%3D400

Next up Kim ordered the pasta your way... I believe the Campanelle with Bolognese
ry%3D400

I had the Rustic Lasagna
ry%3D400

Kim stated hers was pretty good. Mine on the other hand was definitely something I would never order again. If you LOVE Ricotta cheese it may be something to enjoy but I not a fan of it and that was all I could taste. I was thankful the Frito Misto was so good or my meal would have been a real bummer!

After our dinner we headed to a Bugs Land.

Love the lights!!!
ry%3D400

Our first ride here was Heimlich's Chew Chew Train.
ry%3D400

This CM was willing to take our picture!
ry%3D400

And away we Goooo!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Mmmm Watermelon scented Water!

And Animal Crackers!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Heimlich's Favorite! Candy Corn!
ry%3D400

Have you found the Four Leaf Clover?!?
ry%3D400

We only rode the Chew Chew train at this time as I knew if we wanted to ride California Screamin we had to get over there since it closes early for World of Color.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We made it on California Screamin!
ry%3D400

And then continued to use our FP's!
Time for some Soarin'
It was another of what we dubbed a "Smell-O-Ride!"

ry%3D400

From there it was time for the Tower of Terror!
Kim had asked me at the start of the trip if I rode ToT. I said occasionally but no one is ever willing to ride it with me. She said she had told her husband that if I rode it she would give it a try. (Did I say that already earlier in the TR?!?!)

I always get really anxious before I ride ToT. I'm not sure why. I know what to expect!

What I find ironic is there are always little kids in line who LOVE the ride!

We are at our Elevator waiting.
ry%3D400

Finally it is time to board. I go to put my seat belt on... It doesn't come out! I can only get about 6 inches out and it won't come out anymore!
The CM asks everyone to pull the yellow strap and I say it wo't even come out to go on. He comes to try. Yeah... it's stuck! He asks us to step off and we have to continue waiting...

Finally our elevator is ready for us. We go to get on and notice they have placed my seat I was trying to use previously as Out of Order.

Then it was finally time for our ride to the Twilight Zone.

After screaming our lungs out we go to check out our picture and it's not there! Somebody must have done something inappropriate and they wouldn't display it! Urgh!!

Again we were close to Monster's Inc so I thought we would check out the wait. Of course that meant walking through the noise called ElecTRONica. It worked out in our favor though as Monster's Inc was a Walk-on!

I love this cute little ride!

I didn't snap any pictures of it this time though. Its a pretty difficult ride for me to get pics of so I didn't even try this time!

Love the update!
It's a good thing that the seat belt on ToT was broken before you were actually on the ride. How scary to have had a seat belt issue while it was going!:scared1:
I am the same way when I ride ToT. I get that nervous/anxious feeling everytime! And I know I have been on that ride well over 10 times, but for some reason I always think that the first drop happens after the first time the elevator doors open (that's when everyone is waving, right?) and I start to scream, then I realize "oh wait, it's not time yet" :rotfl:
But I love that ride!!

The trip through Monstropolis was wonderful as always. Thankfully Mike & Sulley were able to return Boo safely home!

Once the ride was complete is was back out to the noise of ElecTRONica. I asked Kim if she wanted to see the 3D preview of the movie... (I'm wondering WHY they still show the preview when the movie is long out on DVD?!)

She declined! So we left DCA and headed back to DL to use some more FP's!!

First up was Star Tours!

Star Tours was not a favorite of either Kim's or I. I did get a little motion sick from it and felt like it was pretty jerky as we flew around in our seats. Kim felt kinda dizzy after the ride so agreed that once was enough for us!

From there it was off to Indy!

No pics here as we were busy hanging on! (Are pics even allowed in Indy?)

Those were our final Fastpasses of the day. Since we had another MM the next day it was agreed we would return to the Hotel and get some rest.

We found our way back to the PPH a little easier this time! Kim needed to check on a few more things on the computer :surfweb: and I zonked out!

Alarm was set for 5ish again...

I've never eaten at WCT....I've looked at the menu & really didn't see anything there I couldn't live without. Some people really love this place....but it just didn't entice me to give it a try yet. Since you did a 6pm seating...did they give you WoC FP's??? I kinda thought dinners at Ariel's & WCT were both priced for the WoC Dining Packages.

I haven't been on ToT either........I have a thing about falling & in fact I usually close my eyes on CA Screamin on all the downhills. I'd really like to check out ToT but don't think I could actually do the ride.

Bug's Land is so cute.....love riding Heimlich just for the smells!!!!

Rut-roh....a little concerned about Mike riding Star Tours now......he had trouble on the old version once because he went on when he was super hungry....but he has an problem with motion sickness. I hope he can ride it.

Sounds like another fun-filled day!!

Oh my goodness! I can't even imagine if the seatbelt came off while on the ride. Thankfully it wasn't the latch that was the problem but the mechanism in letting the belt even come out.

Both WCT and AG have Ala Carte as well as WoC meals. I had seen some items on the menu that looked good previously but then I ended up saving some money and not going for the more expensive entrees. I tried it once... wont be going back!

ToT is an adrenaline rush I think! Im always anxious before it starts and then heart is pounding when its done!

I say give ST a try once. It didn't make me extremely motion sick... just enough to not ride again. The original in WDW made me REALLY sick so this was no where near that. I'm not a BIG Star Wars fan though either so that may be why once was enough!!

Good update, looks like you had fun on the carousel! haha.

WCT looked mediocre, too bad. It sounds like their pasta isn't as good as their other menu items.

Good star tours pics!

Hi! I don't post very often but wanted to mention that we were there at the same time as you. In fact, I'm still at the beginning of your TR but I wonder if caught us in any of your pics? We'll see. :D

And we were staying at the Paradise Pier from the 6th to the 12th. It was great.

In fact, here we are:

Then it was a visit from Rafiki! (Kim was afraid he would mess up her hair again!)
ry%3D400

See that table to the left of your friend in the background with the yellow balloon. That's us! We were there at the exact same time. And we were probably on the rides in the same order as you, but a little after. My son wasn't cooperating that morning so it made my carefully planned schedule (courtesy of the DISboards) null and void. Oh well. Great TR. :D

Paula's on a roll!!

So what did Kim think of TOT. It was her first time, right? Or did I read that wrong. I may love that ride, but it definitely doesn't mean I'm not nervous as can be beforehand. Talk about an adrenaline rush, holy smokes!

It's funny that Star Tours is sounding like the one ride I wont even give a shot with all the motion sickness complaints (and 3D which makes me sick anyway). I've almost passed out after giving a ride like that a shot before and I just don't know if I can be talked into that one. You're not helping the case at all, lol.

The food at WCT looked really good. I have read that the food at WCT are okay. I need to eat there one day, maybe I will eat there when I do the WoC dining package.

Great photos of the Heimlich's Chew Chew Train.

At least you and Kim got to do ST on that day. I was curious of how long the two of you had to wait in the ST queue with your FPs?

Great update and can't wait to read more.

I love Monsters Inc. I think that the interaction with Roz is so much fun. Until my trip this year I haven't interacted with her. This trip it was our car and it was so funny. I can't remember the conversation but it was hilarious.

Another great installment. I am glad we decided not to eat a WCT on our February trip.

Good star tours pics!

Some of the simple rides are as much fun to me as the Thrill Rides!

WCT was a real downer for me. The lasagna noodles were overcooked and added in with just the Ricotta mixed with a tiny bit of sauce it was way too soft for me and was not a good texture.

Wow. We were at PPH June 6-11 and then I moved to the Doubletree. We LOVED the PPH.

The 3D on Star Tours isn't all that much I don't think. I always say to try anything once but Star Tours isn't for me.

Yes it was Kim's first time on ToT. She didn't think it was as bad as she thought it would be. We were both dissapointed there was no picture though!

I honestly don't ever feel the need to try WCT again.

Love Heimlich's! I know some adults never go to bug's land but I highly recommend it as least for this ride! It's such a cute great ride... wish it was longer but its still great!

our wait was only about 10-15 minutes. It was right after the fireworks too but before everyone made it back over there.

Okay that is TOO funny that we were there at the same hotel and then the same breakfast at the same time!!

I was kinda hoping Roz would pick on us but she always just said something generic this time.

I had heard good things about WCT from other reviews but it just wasn't for me. At least I can say I've tried it... and the appetizer was GOOD!

Glad you gave ToT a chance this time even with the seat belt issue.

Well, maybe I'll keep thinking on Star Tours a little while longer. And I would be bummed about the TOT photo too. Actually, now that I think about it, I think that's the first on-ride photo ride I didn't purchase the photo from my very first ride!! Ooops.

If you can ride it with a short wait I think it's worth trying once.

I've never purchased any on-ride photos. I thought about buying one with my best friend but then decided against it.

I think I got them for my yet-to-be-started scrapbooking attempt that will probably never happen. I kind of like having them for the memories. It's like the same thing with PhotoPass.
