It's kind of fun to do the impossible - Disney with a 1 month old *new 2/13/15*

So funny to see Peter wearing the same shirt that Izzy wore to the Frozen Fun! :goodvibes

Glad you got the Sing-Along tickets, but too bad you missed your first FP+ for it. (Though I am glad that you switched Star Tours to be your first one, rather than Toy Story Mania).

Those cups do look pretty cool. I was tempted to get one, but resisted.

I remember waiting in line for shows in that area during Star Wars Weekends. Love all the parody posters! :lmao:

What is up with those darn poles blocking the views of that show? :confused3 We were clear on the other side and had our view substantially blocked too.

Wow, we did the same thing – straight from the show to meeting the Cars. Izzy’s idea (kid loves cars!) :car:

That’s right – I forgot to look for that door while I was in there! :headache: Such a cool door.

Smart to wear Emma like that in TSMM. I can’t imagine how you’d handle a baby that young on those fast turns otherwise.

Oh, too bad you missed out on Sofia. However, I love that Minnie Mouse meet area – I’ve only seen the pics, but would like to get there sometime. Looks so cute. Glad that Peter came around too.

Bummer on forgetting the diapers and I am really surprised the baby care center wouldn’t have any. You did get a nice father/son picture out of the excursion, though. :thumbsup2

There are NOT enough hours in the day to catch up everywhere, finish my TR and my PTR (although I completed the PTR today), pack, laundry and be ready to go in one week. So here I am playing catch up again.

:yay::yay: you are at a park. Glad you got that first PP picture taken. Sorry you didn't find Olaf with a stick.

I had no intention of doing the Frozen sing-along, but now you have me adding it to my plans. It sounds like fun. I hope it's that easy to get tickets when we get there.

Sorry you missed Star Tours and Sophia...but there is always next time.

I think Peter may have beat my score on Toy Story Mania! I'm terrible on that attraction (although I'm always good with accuracy).

Nice photo of you and Peter in your search of diapers. I'm glad you found some, but I'm sure glad you didn't make that mistake again.

Can't wait to hear about dinner.

No Star Tours? Bummer.

:rotfl: I never thought about your username before. Brilliant!

What a fun poster! "No one can hear you MEEP" :lmao:

Great that Peter came around to enjoy the meet with Minnie. I'm curious to see how DS will do in a few weeks when we go to DLR with him. Hopefully he won't be too frightened of a mouse that looks 5 inches tall on screen, is now over 5 feet tall!

Perfect photopass photo with Peter!:)

I did not know what is where your name came from, too funny. I was wondering it too.

Your time at DHS sounds great, and awesome for getting the next show's tickets!! That cup is awesome! Hope you can use it at home. My BoG cup is proudly displayed next to our wine glasses, though I haven't used it either.

Too bad about star tours but it sounds like your DHS time was still a lot of fun. Can't wait to hear about this fantastic meal you had!

I LOVE the pic of Olivia with the slushie. Its just "NO, I'm not riding the Darth Vadar ride and you WILL get me a drink.....I am appeased, for now" :rotfl:

Yay for first park day fun!

Funny thing is she didn't even really like it - she was just really into posing at times for pictures :rotfl2: She mostly switched to water - as did Judi and Peter - which is why I had to finish the drink (I mean, the thing cost like $10 I was going to finish dangit!)

Definitely always exciting to get to your first park!

Ah, I knew Izzy had the same shirt but that is funny they both wore them to MGM for the Frozen Fun!

Wouldn't be the only FP+ we miss :worried: .... but I am so glad I listened to you and some others in the PTR to make something other than TSMM our first FP+ of the day (though we may have just done a different time for the Frozen Sing-Along ... but definitely everything worked out in the end)

Those cups do look pretty cool. I was tempted to get one, but resisted.

We were pretty good about not getting too many souvenir cup things - but I did want to get something Frozen related and probably was a little easier to convince in my "we just got to Disney!" mood. :rotfl:

They definitely seemed to be structural so not sure if that is just how that theater always is or if they fit better with what was there before or something. Rumors are that the Sing-Along will move to where the American Idol Experience was so hopefully they won't have the same issues there

Wow, we did the same thing – straight from the show to meeting the Cars. Izzy’s idea (kid loves cars!) :car:

I don't know if we would have sought out the Cars cars if they weren't right there but we wanted to make sure Peter got to do some things he wanted to since he wasn't tall enough for Mine Train, etc. so it worked out well.

I was aware of the door but kinda just happened upon it ... but was glad to come across it as I think it is pretty darn cool!

Emma got worn a lot like that - pretty much either in her carrier (by itself or in the stroller) or worn like that. Only place she wasn't I think was on Ariel's ride where they made us take her out of the carrier (even though we didn't need to on Nemo :confused3) so we just had her on our lap

We have definitely gotten diapers in the past at other Baby Centers ... the one at MGM seems different as it is also the customer service area and we actually had to track down someone working there to even help us initially as no one was in the baby care center. Worked out ok in the end but was a definitely lesson learned ... I was pretty determined to turn it into a positive some how so very glad we got that picture out of it :thumbsup2

I hear you about not enough hours in the day ... but in more important news you leave for you next trip so soon!!!!

:yay::yay: you are at a park. Glad you got that first PP picture taken. Sorry you didn't find Olaf with a stick.

Definite "yeah" for being at a park. We did actually eventually get an Olaf on a Stick ... and then proceeded to forget to bring him to future park days *sigh*

The Sing-Along was really fun - especially with having kids that know ever word to every song. From what I have been reading, after the initial week or so it got much easier to get tickets so I suspect you will be fine. But definitely just go back there first and you should be able to pick what show you want to go to. For a "temporary" show I thought it was really well done.

Yup! We've done both in the past and I am sure we will go again - I am sure we would have been much more upset if this was our "once in a lifetime trip" I was proud of Olivia for not getting too upset as well. Been working with her on the whole "You get what you get and you don't get upset" thing. :thumbsup2

I think Peter may have beat my score on Toy Story Mania! I'm terrible on that attraction (although I'm always good with accuracy).

Can't wait to hear about dinner.

If we are ever at the parks at the same time we'll have to get you and Peter to ride together for an ultimate face off :rotfl:

Definitely were very careful the next days to ensure we had enough diapers, changes of clothes, etc.

Dinner is coming up next update!

Definitely bummed about no Star Tours but have done it in the past multiple times so not the end of the world - knowing the Frozen stuff was just for the summer / special event, that definitely became the priority

Thank you! I like the name as a user name as it is kinda subtle but most Star Wars fans get it.

They had a lot of fun posters but that was definitely my favorite. They had similar ones near the Minnie meet and greet though using Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc. instead of Muppets.

I hope you son does well ... definitely seems like the more they get used to it the more they get into it. I know for both Peter and especially Olivia in the past we tried to watch Youtube videos of meet and greets to help get them used to it.

Thank you! :goodvibes

Too bad about star tours but it sounds like your DHS time was still a lot of fun. Can't wait to hear about this fantastic meal you had!

I have the same thing as my yahoo e-mail address that I usually use with stores, etc. - so funny to hear them read back to me The Max Rebo (often pronounce "Reh - bow"

We did have a good time - not a tone of time and it went fast, but we got most of the main things (other than Sofia) that we really wanted to get done, done so really can't complain. Haven't used the cup yet- not sure how often we will but it is a good reminder of the event I think

Meal coming up next update!

The Frozen show looks great!! I'm sad we didn't get to see it, DD would have LOVED it!!

No Olaf on a stick? Bummer.

Aww for missing Star Tours :( But, it sounds like the sing-a-long was worth it.

Peter does look like he loved meeting Mater and Lightning. Very cute.

I didn't know Minnie met at HS. I learn something new everyday.

Awesome photopass picture of you and Peter.

But oops about the diapers. At least it all worked out okay.

Aw, sorry that you missed it! It was really fun and all the kids were super into it. Pretty impressed with the quality of it given that it was (at least originally) to be a temporary show

I was able to find an Olaf on a Stick - actually a CM who had 2 gave me one (twas a little beat up though)

It was definitely worth it to miss Star Tours - we've done that before and likely will do it in the future but with how into Frozen Olivia is hitting up the Frozen stuff that might be just for this summer was a priority - and it was really good too!

He's been so into cars and trains and stuff lately so he was so excited ... really great to see him so happy especially how he was super nervous about meeting characters last time

Yeah, Minnie meets in the back of the Annimation Courtyard - the entrance to her room is very close to Wreck-It Ralph and Vanelope ... very nice set up and she has a special sparkly version of her dress she only wears there.

Sorry you didn't make it onto Star Tours!! But, there's always next time!!! :goodvibes

Because I was 19-20 months pregnant on our August trip, I didn't ride a lot of my favorites...but NEXT TIME...oh, just wait!!!! ::yes::

I am bummed we never made it to the Frozen sing a long but it was nice reading about your experience. Looks great! :thumbsup2

I have to say, we got a million Olafs on a stick...maybe we took them all! Lol

Yup - always next time ... and hopefully Olivia and/or Peter will be more into Star Wars and want to ride!

Oh yes, just wait! and 19-20 months pregnant is pretty darn pregnant! :scared1:

Thank you! It was definitely fun. I am sure there are full versions of it out on the interwebs if you want to watch - was a pretty fun show!

Ah, so you took them all! :lmao: We were able to get a few later - but was still surprised to see them out for a bit even after checking multiple locations

TSMM is our favorite ride. I heard a rumor that they are going to build another track. I hope that's true- it is the ride I want to do over and over a few times!

I found character meet planning stressful. Especially the princesses around world showcase. There for a short time span and walking far distance between them- the kid didn't care about characters last year so it saved us a lot of "time." Anyway booking the character meals took the pressure off a bit......for the $$$$$$$......an we ended up meeting almost all the characters we wanted to anyway outside of the meals again (shaking fist at Disney)

We LOVED the Frozen sing a long. It was beyond a thrown together temporary fad show. Hopefully it will stick around for years to come.

What do you think of the closing of Malestrom to convert to a Frozen ride though?

Yes, 19-20 months!!! Didn't I tell you I'm an elephant??? LOL :rotfl:

19-20 weeks....:thumbsup2

Glad you were able to find the Olaf's in the end. We did not fare as well with anything we wanted at the villains unleashed party....

Oh, well....Disney ended up giving us our money back for that one, so we'll just pretend it didn't happen. pixiedust:

That is pretty much what I do as far as the Shirts ... kinda just do google searching for images that are along the lines of what I want and then add text, etc. Print some test ones on regular paper and then print on the transfer paper. Definitely important to note if the paper you have is for light colored shirts or dark - tried one on dark using the light color shirt transfer paper and it did not work out at all! That sounds fun to make shirts for your Texas trip! Let me know if you have any other questions/need help

Thanks a bunch!!! Dumb question... do I need to flip the text?

Okay, done hijacking. I LOVE Peter's reaction to the resort! That is awesome!!

And I'm totally kicking myself... I really wanted a balloon when I went, but figured it would be a silly waste of money. I never gave it a thought that I could buy it for myself while I was there and then give it away before I left. But I'm so glad Olivia got some pixie dust and that she wanted to pass it along!!! :goodvibes

Boo to not going on Star Tours but I'm LOL'ing at Olivia's thoughts on it. Pretty much the way my niece responds every single time I mention anything Star Wars related!

Really want to go to a Frozen sing-along. Maybe I need to coordinate one at work. Haha. I'm considering making my own Olaf-on-a-stick to photobomb all my pics when I go to Texas. I think my niece and nephew would love it!

I always love the "little blue elephant" when I was too young to realize Max wasn't really an elephant. A friend of mine wanted to name her child Bespin if she had a girl; instead she had a boy and named him Owen :)

Hadn't heard about the doubling the track for TSMM rumor but I could see that - especially if part of the plan for DHS is to build out a Pixar Place area.

Yes, very hard to meet all the princesses individually - one reason we have done one princess meal each of the last 3 or so trips. I recall one trip where we arrived slightly before a meet time was to start (I think for Belle) and they had already closed the line ... so we definitely have gotten more strategic about which ones we go to.

I am taking a bit of a wait-and-see attitude with the Frozen / Maelstrom overlay (or brand new ride as it appears to be since it will take 18 months to complete). I just hope it isn't just the Frozen story but rather tries to immerse the guest in the culture, etc. and keeps to the original vision of EPCOT

:rotfl2::lmao:

ah, figured you meant weeks ;)

I heard the Villians party was a bit of a mess - or rather that the people organizing the event apparently didn't communicate with the people selling the tickets and the sold 3 times as many tickets as they should have. Glad you got your money back at least - seems like Disney realized the error of their way with that and hopefully they correct it.

I'd actually like to see them run the Villians parties throughout the fall - maybe on the nights they don't have MNSSHP

So it depends which iron on transfers you are using. The ones for dark shirts are more like stickers that sit on-top of the shirt and you do not need to flip the image. The ones for light colored shirts are more imprinted on the shirts and you do need to flip the images (hope that wasn't confusing) ... basically just follow the directions for whatever transfer paper you get :rotfl:

Yeah, Peter had a great reaction to arriving at the Contemporary and just loved staying there and seeing the monorail and just all the activity that goes with being that close to the park (buses arriving, etc.)

That would be a great tradition to start and get a balloon and then give it away

That would be fun to do a sing-along at work - and the Olaf photobomb plan sounds great!

The name Bespin is pretty - though Owen kinda fits as the subtle reference ;)

Judi....you better get on that picture taking job! :lmao:

That is a great response from Peter. That would have been mine at that age too. Like "whoa, we're not staying at the Holiday Inn?!" :rotfl2:

We are super familiar with the 5th bed option at the Contemporary. Although back in the 90's it was a little more wonky. I haven't seen pictures of the rooms there in forever I feel like. It looks really lovely. I know what you mean about Disney theming, Contemporary is a little bit on the cold side.

Yup, that's a view all right. :lovestruc

Oooohhh, you got my end of a new row bad luck! That always happens to me at DHS. I feel like I'm cursed there.

Wait...they were out of Olaf?! A travesty!

I knew what the origin of your name was, and when I still have some original Sy Snoodles and Max Rebo toys. #nerdalert

Peter did get an impressive score for a 2 year old! Good job Peter!

Oh come on, you always have to post the PP outtakes! They're priceless.

haha, yeah not sure what my reaction would have been when I was his age - probably pretty similar ... probably wold look to me like we were staying inside Magic Kingdom and would have gotten super excited until I was informed that was not exactly the case. But in the end I was satisfied with his reaction ::yes::

Once we figured out how the bed worked (folding it down not up) it worked pretty well! and having it was great for us. There is definitely a cold/industrial edge to the Contemporary ... especially after at other resorts Disney is putting in Pirate rooms and Princess rooms.

Yup, view is all right ;)

I was just more surprised than anything that they were out of them especially as it wasn't a super crazy crowded day or anything.

Nice! I didn't have the toys - though I did have a Sy Snoodles and The Max Rebo ornaments for the tree #neerdalertx2

Well, I did post one of the PP outtakes where it looks like Peter is trying to rip my head off. This one is also kinda funny as it is at the point I am trying to pose for the picture and Pete still seems miserable

Judi and Emma look so cute together all wrapped up! Some of my favorite WDW pictures are from when Pickle was itty-bitty and carried around in the sling, which is sometimes much easier than the stroller. :) I love the picture of you and Peter on your shoulders! And boy, does Olivia look hot!! I'm glad she was understanding about Sofia; although sparkly-dress Minnie is pretty awesome.

That's too funny about the size 5/6 diapers! No doubt you made the right call, though, and I'm glad that your decision didn't back fire on you! :rotfl2:

Definitely slinging her up was easier at times - had times she was slinged and other kids in the stroller ... Or just stuff too

Thank you - super glad that shoulder picture came out! That first day was probably the hottest of our trip - though did get pretty hot walking around World Showcase lasted in the trip.

Other thing the sling is good for is hiding the 5/6 diapers your newborn is wearing :lmao:
