"It's just Disney". WHAT?!!!!

OK all you fellow disney lovers. Iam sooo excited we leave for WDW in 15 days!! I just can't seem to get my DH excited. He said "It's just Disney" He thinks it's just another amusement park. Any ideas to get him to feel the magic and get excited?

My DFiance is the same way. He is excited, but has no idea why WDW is so different than any other amusement park. Everytime I mention going here or there once we get there he asks, "Can we walk there from the resort?" I keep telling him we can't walk ANYWHERE from the resort. We are staying at Pop. He also can't understand why we can't walk from park to park and why we won't be able to see and do everything in the 6 or 7 days we are spending in the parks.

Newbies. Gotta love 'em.

I'm only hoping that he ends up loving WDW even half as much as I do. I have a couple of things planned that I know he will enjoy.

My DH was the same way, but he had never been. We took the kids in June and we weren't halfway through this vacation and DH was planning next years trip to WDW. He was sprinkled with Pixie Dust somewhere along the line. Heck, he even wore the fanny pack he swore he'd never touch.

Steps to make your DH see it your way:

1. Find biggest sledgehammer you can find
2. Knock some sense into him
3. Tell him, if you don't want to go with me, then I'll go by myself!


If steps 1-3 do not work, divorce the guy and get a guy from the disboards who actually love to go to Disney!

Thanks for the responses - too funny. He's been there before. I was hoping to find something cool I could surprise him with to get him excited.- either before we go or down there. If all else fails I'll use the sledgehammer!

I am soooooooooooo lucky that DH is just as WDW crazy as I am. I could never survive a "mixed marriage."

Wow. I'm lucky that my BF is excited to go back as me.

You know what I did once, to get him even more so?

I emailed him a picture and a description of one ride, show, resteraunt etc. each day for about a month before our trip. So each day he got a preview of something new that he'd be seeing/ doing when we got there. It really got him in the mood to go!

why don't you take him to the barbershop and get a haircut and pixie dust.

take him to dinner at Whispering Canyon

take him one evening to listen to Bob Jackson at the POR lounge

that should butter him up somewhat.

and if that doesn't work, I've got a sledgehammer I can rent you!
