It's gonna take a lot to take me away from this view! 7/10 - Finished!

Nah, I don't think he was bored, I think he was just missing you. So I hauled out that cutting edge technology that's banned in 137 countries I have and...

:rotfl2: OMG! That's awesome Rob!

I really hope they capture the gunman who is causing so much havoc in your neighboring province. I am hoping and praying this comes to a end soon. How terribly awful. I'm so sorry.

I had a throw away day (24 hours) on my October trip, so I know all about those.
It's so not fun to be sick on vacation.

I saw that little zebra and he was just adorable!

I have to admit that I don't listen to the news too much, I find it upsetting most of the time so I was not aware of what was happening in Moncton. My thoughts and prayers to the officers families and to all those still hiding behind locked doors.

Your trip! Its awful that you were sick but if you weren't I have to say that is still a pretty great day, just taking it easy enjoying the resorts! Such fun! (You know if you weren't sick!)

I'm so sad the TR is almost over. Will need to reread it. its nice reading a complete trip report i find.

Ahhh my finest hour. :rolleyes2 :rotfl: I thought about prescription sunglasses, but my beef is that I then have to carry my normal ones for when I go inside, and I rarely carry any bag or anything but my camera so I'd rather be a little freer -- with the contacts and cheap sunglasses I can stick them on my head when I go inside and I don't have to panic if I leave them somewhere.

I get that! I have an obsession with hand lotion and lip balm plus I have a 10-year old so I'm a pack mule...BUT, I'm not like obnoxious backpack guy!

Hopefully they capture that lunatic soon!
They got him without further incident, but it was a scary 30 hours!

I'm so sorry you were sick at Disney! The gingerbread house is amazing and it smells so good! That baby zebra is adorable. Looks like Johnny had some fun but he was so sweet to come back and keep you company.

Jill in CO
We had a pretty good day in spite of being sick! The gingerbread was amazing, both the smell and the construction!

So scary. I hope they catch the gunman soon and without any more deaths. My prayers will definitely be with the maritimes today.
They did, they got him without further incident. Thank goodness!

As for your update, so hard to get sick on vacation. But as you said, at least it was on the last day. Your pictures are great. I love that little baby zebra. So cute.
Yup, could have been so much worse!

I think you said it all Wendy. :goodvibes
So scary to see it happen so close to home!

I am so sad that you were so sick on your last day. I guess the (minor) bright side is that you had such a lovely resort to be sick at. And I'm glad you at least got out for a bit.
It's true, at least I had a fantastic view!

Awwwwww Johnny wanted to stay with you...
He's such a sweetie, I think I'll keep him.

Nah, I don't think he was bored, I think he was just missing you. So I hauled out that cutting edge technology that's banned in 137 countries I have and...

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: That's too funny, omg. I have to show Johnny that one. Yup, that was definitely the problem!!

I'm so sorry you got sick on your trip! I'm usually a lurker but had to pop in and compliment you on your gorgeous photos, even the ones from your phone!
Thank you! Welcome out of lurkdom too :thumbsup2

So sorry you were sick I know how that feels sick at Disney is not much fun but hot tubs are the best when you are not feeling good.

What a beautiful resort to be sick at!

That was so nice of Johnny to want to spend time with you.
It's true, if you have to be sick and spend some time at the resort, there's really no better place!

Thoughts are with the people of NS :(

So sad to be sick on vacation, but it still looks like a nice day. I'd love to spend a day checking out resorts --- there re so many we have never seen in person! :goodvibes
Being sick on vacation sucks for sure, but we made the best of the day!

So sad to hear how sick you were at Disney. That's just awful. Like you said, though, at least it was on your last full day at Disney and not your first. And I guess you got to really take advantage of staying deluxe by spending a lot of time in the room and at the hot tub. Silver linings, I guess.
It sucked, but could have been sooooo much worse!

Those ride photos...single rider spots just bring out the smiles on everyone. I have to agree with Johnny, though. There is something missing when you leave your partner in crime in the room and go to a park solo. Glad he did get a few rides in.
Definitely, it's not the same at all, but I was so happy he did go and do something other than sit and stare at me! :rotfl:

awe that's sweet that Johnny didn't want to leave you alone for too long.
He's a sweetie for sure. Like I always say, I think I'll keep him. ;)

:rotfl2: OMG! That's awesome Rob!
Yup, I got a grand ole' laugh out of that!

I really hope they capture the gunman who is causing so much havoc in your neighboring province. I am hoping and praying this comes to a end soon. How terribly awful. I'm so sorry.
They did, they caught him without any more incident. It was pretty bad and now the whole city is mourning the three RCMP officers but their strength is really inspiring. Thanks for your concern Mary Ellen. :goodvibes

It's so not fun to be sick on vacation.
Oh no! Sorry to hear you had one too! They're really not fun. I almost always have a sick day on vacation, but never that bad before.

I saw that little zebra and he was just adorable!
I want to kiss his widdle nose! He's such a cutie pie!

I have to admit that I don't listen to the news too much, I find it upsetting most of the time so I was not aware of what was happening in Moncton. My thoughts and prayers to the officers families and to all those still hiding behind locked doors.
I normally don't either. Add to that I don't have cable or satellite and I rely on the internet so I'm usually way behind, but being so close to home (and I have many friends in New Brunswick, as well as a few Mounties!) it was all over my news feed. Such a horrible situation though, I'm so glad it's over.

Your trip! Its awful that you were sick but if you weren't I have to say that is still a pretty great day, just taking it easy enjoying the resorts! Such fun! (You know if you weren't sick!)
It wasn't such a bad day, considering! At least I got to see some of the resorts!

I'm so sad the TR is almost over. Will need to reread it. its nice reading a complete trip report i find.
Well I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying it!

I get that! I have an obsession with hand lotion and lip balm plus I have a 10-year old so I'm a pack mule...BUT, I'm not like obnoxious backpack guy!
lol!! I don't have kids or a reliance on lotions :rotfl2: so I travel as light as possible!

Before I get to my update, I want to take a minute to express my deepest condolences and concerns to the entire city of Moncton. There is a gunman at large with several weapons and a hate for authority. He has already shot and killed three RCMP officers and wounded two others. People living in the area have been locked inside their homes since last evening. If you could spare a thought/vibe/prayer for the successful capture of this lunatic (or whatever it takes to stop him!) my next door neighbour province would be very grateful.

Awful :(

That baby zebra is adorable!!!! I want one!

I'm glad you were able to go check out some of the Christmas decorations! That gingerbread house is unbelievable! Hopefully I'll get to see one of those next year! And good job on the "edible" joke ;)

I keep wanting to say "I hope you feel better!" LOLOLOL

So sorry to read how sick you got on your last day. Even though it's Disney, being sick when traveling and away from the comforts of home just makes things tougher. Big kudos for even making it down to Boma. I don't think I could have managed that myself if I was in a similar state - normally I love the aroma of the food at Boma but if I were sick......:(

Wendy, I am so sorry you got so sick on your last day. But like you said, thankfully, it wasn't the beginning of the trip.

I love the baby zebra...so very cute.

I'm glad you were up to a little touring and love your photos at the GF. Between the Gingerbread House and the tree, it was very hard to get pictures there.

I'm glad Johnny had a good time while he took off for a couple of hours. And what a sweetie buying you the t-shirt you had eyed for Christmas.

Ugh. Sick at Disney definitely sucks. :sad1: Sounds like you guys tried to make the best of it though! I love that T-shirt! So hilarious! The gingerbread house is definitely something to see!!!

And I was following that story - I'm so glad they caught him, and so sad for everyone involved. I swear the world has gone insane. :(

Sorry guys! I went a little MIA this past week and haven't been back to the Dis in a while to either check up on all your reports or reply on my own. I'm off today and so I'm catching up now!

It was. Way too much of this type of thing lately. :worried:

That baby zebra is adorable!!!! I want one!
Me too! He could live with my ponies! :rotfl:

I'm glad you were able to go check out some of the Christmas decorations! That gingerbread house is unbelievable! Hopefully I'll get to see one of those next year! And good job on the "edible" joke ;)
Me too, I would have been so sad to miss them completely. I hope you get to see them next year too!

I keep wanting to say "I hope you feel better!" LOLOLOL
Hahaha I know, it's weird sometimes writing about these things that happened in the past!

This is one of my favorite TRs I've ever read!
Wow! I'm honoured, thank you! :goodvibes

It's so true. All I wanted was my mom's home made chicken soup and my dogs and my bed! :rotfl: I didn't mind Boma too much, luckily I was feeling a little better after that but I still couldn't eat. What bothered me was that I knew what I was missing out on! :lmao:

Wendy, I am so sorry you got so sick on your last day. But like you said, thankfully, it wasn't the beginning of the trip.
Absolutely, I'll take that silver lining!

I love the baby zebra...so very cute.
That little stripey bum is just way too cute. :rotfl:

I'm glad you were up to a little touring and love your photos at the GF. Between the Gingerbread House and the tree, it was very hard to get pictures there.
The tree wasn't up yet when we were there and I was so bummed about that. I was reading online when we were planning and it looked like everything should have been up but they were later this past year it seems getting some things up.

I'm glad Johnny had a good time while he took off for a couple of hours. And what a sweetie buying you the t-shirt you had eyed for Christmas.
He's really a keeper. :thumbsup2

Ugh. Sick at Disney definitely sucks. :sad1: Sounds like you guys tried to make the best of it though! I love that T-shirt! So hilarious! The gingerbread house is definitely something to see!!!
Nothing worse. I usually get sick one day every Disney trip but never that bad.

And I was following that story - I'm so glad they caught him, and so sad for everyone involved. I swear the world has gone insane. :(
It was awful, and so close to home. They televised the three officers' funeral and I cried my eyes out watching it at work. But it's so inspiring to see the entire country supporting the city and the RCMP.

I read through your update yesterday, but I must have been rushing off to work because I didn't comment.

First, my sympathy to all of the people affected by the last week's tragic event. Especially the families of the brave officers. So sad and scary.

:grouphug:

Sick at Disney is no fun! But I have to say, sick or not, you still take great photos!!!

Baby Zebra = CUTE!!!

That was so sweet that Johnny did not want to be apart from you.

Have loved following along and reading about your trip! DH and I will be there in November for a delayed Disneymoon. Love all your insight on how to have a blast there even without children! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Wendy,

I've just read through the entire report and love all the pictures! You are certainly good at your job!

It's such a bummer to be sick at Disney, but I'm sure you were thankful it was on the last day.

I've subscribed to your PTR, heading over there now.:goodvibes

We delayed our Disneymoon too! We were married on October 16 and our honeymoon was November 8th I think. We've gone there without children 5 times now and had an amazing time each trip (and were definitely not the only ones!) I hope you'll share a few details about your Disneymoon!!

Wow! Welcome and thanks for reading!
Thank you :goodvibes
Being sick was awful, but absolutely thankful it was the last day.
Sorry to say the PTR isn't very hopping at the moment, the other trip is on the chopping block at the moment but I will keep it updated and maybe add a mini report about our upcoming trip to Germany!

Well folks, I'd like to apologize for being so far behind on everyone's reports. Summer and the nice weather finally found us and I've been outside more than I've been in and when the sun is shining I just don't want to be at the computer! I'm working on catching up today, it was raining earlier and it's just starting to clear so I have to work fast. :rotfl2:

One other thing I want to get done today -- finish the trip section of this report! Let's get to it.

Monday, November 18
"Looking Forward to Going Home"

Can you believe that title?

I know most people can't stand departure day, it's the worst day there is and no one ever wants to leave WDW.

I'm usually happy to be going home to normal life and mostly to my fur babies, but this time I was so sick, I was desperate to just be home already.

I woke up that morning and sat on the balcony for quite a while and soaked in every last second of my amazing view.

I'm going to apologize now because that's the only picture I have. I'll make it interesting though, don't worry.

We had one more thing to do before we left and that was breakfast. I made sure everything was packed and we went downstairs to Boma for one last meal before we left.

tumblr_m5blgvHOmd1qhfc59o1_500.gif

We checked in and had the same waiter from the last time! He was great again, remembered us and our drink orders, and he also remembered to bring Johnny extra ketchup!

"Where are you heading today folks?"

"Home!"

tumblr_ls6yd78pAh1ql0adio1_500.gif

When we were finished we settled our bill, went to the front desk to make sure everything was settled there. Then one last stop to the gift shop to buy a bag because (surprise!) we went overboard on our souvies.

gasp.gif

Then it was time for our DME pickup. We were scheduled for 9:35 and were early at the bus stop. The bus was late.

Not this again.

The last time we used DME on the way home it was late and we were very worried about it happening this time. Sure enough the bus pulled in at 9:45 -- only 10 minutes late.

Then it stopped at Art of Animation.

Then it stopped at Pop Century.

It was 10:35 before we were on our way to the airport. A full hour later than we were supposed to leave.

AliceLate.gif

That's when we decided to ask for an earlier pick up next time.

When you have to catch an international flight, it sure does make for a heck of a panic! We did thankfully get there and get checked in and through security no problem. We found our gate and the rest was fairly uneventful.

And then another one...

Aaaaand now I'm back in the province! — with Johnny at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.]

One more flight back to Sydney, but I didn't check in because all I wanted to do was get home -- it was about midnight.

Our luggage arrived safe, we got home and crashed. I wish I had pictures of all our souvenirs but I can't find them! I'll go searching to see if I can remember what we bought last year and I'll get something ready for the next post.

That, my friends, is the end of the trip! I know it had a terrible ending, but I'm so glad you all stuck with me through it. Don't go running away just yet though!

tumblr_mblj22YXoI1qgf1i8o1_500.gif

Coming up I have a few more things planned, including a wrap up, list of firsts and favourites, and a detailed review of my first time at AKL.

Sorry that you were so miserable on the last day! Stinks to be so sick at Disney but at least it was a travel day.

The one time we use DME it was late as well and they had to turn away people because there were more people waiting than there were seats on the bus. That was pretty unmagical. Luckily we weren't an international flight so it all worked out.

I have definitely enjoyed all of your TR!
