Help... :(

As you can see from my countdown timer, we leave in tomorrow (Thursday). Now, most people probably have nightmares before they leave of forgetting their itinerary  , having no PSs  , or missing their plane   ! But I am having serious nightmares about losing my girls (literally).

Last February 14th, we lost our then 19 month old dd in AKL lobby for 15 minutes! It was the worst feeling that I have ever felt. All I could think about was the LAST picture I took of her (with Pluto) and that someone might be hurting her at that very minute and I couldn't stop it and how scared she might be! Ugh! They pretty much scoured the whole hotel/bus stop (that was a scary thought!) and finally found her way down in one of the wings (thanks Mousekeeping!! :) ). God it was soooo good to touch her again!

Now, the nightmares are starting of leaving my girls (dd 4 and dd (now 2)) somewhere and forgetting where. Last night I dreamt this 3 times! Two of those times were at MK! I can't stand that pit in my stomach ANY MORE!!

So, other than a stiff drink and some tylenol PM, how can I get some sleep tonight??!! How can I make these nightmares go away :( ?

Thanks for any advice you can share...

Nervously,
Karen

Oh my Karen, you must have been devastated!! Missing a child for 15 minutes must feel like 15 days! No wonder you're having anxiety.

It's normal to have these dreams. I have them before every trip. My recurring one is that I put DD,7, on Buzz Lightyear and she doesn't come off at the end! It's absolutely horriible!

My advice would be to take a deep breath and relax. The chances of you losing the little one again are practically nil. Maybe get a harness for her just to feel safer, but I doubt you'll ever let her out of your sight, even for a second.

As far as sleeping tonight, I'd try and nap today and not worry if you can't sleep tonight. I probably get two or three hours the night before and then run on adrenaline the next few days.....

You'll be seeing Mickey tomorrow!~how great is that?! Tell him I said Hey! :) :):Pinkbounc

I'm sure all will be fine! It's your sub conscious playing with you!

We're leaving tomorrow morning too ( Not sure how I screwed up my count down below) and I can't even get to sleep!! I was up at 3 am this morning! I'm exhausted!

I had nightmares too. Loosing my kids is something I worry about.

I did loose Kelsea. But, we found her and she didn't even notice we had walked on. She was watching a parade and didn't know she was lost. Thank you disney!

I will try to not think about it during the day... maybe that will help. I couldn't even make up ID's for them this time because of the thought of POSSIBLY having to use them!

Thanks again!

Karen :(

I too lost my son in EPCOT when he was about 5. A mothers worst nightmare. I knew if he were lost, he'd be fine but if he had been kidnapped, we were in trouble.

It was a good scare for him as well, he never ventured off too far after that!

Your daughter may be too young to remember being lost but if you feel better to have her on a wrist leash, go for it. Ya I know some people will cringe on that idea but after you've gone to hell and back as you have, you can tell them what for! ( in a Disney kind of way) :p

Big thumbs up for wrist leashes. A few snide remarks from people are a whole lot better than the alternative of possibly losing track of a child.

You'll be fine zakatk.....just go to bed tonight with visions of your child's face looking up at Mickey.

Have a wonderful trip !!

Everything wil be fine. Now our daughter is 2.5 and likes to run. I hope we can contain her in the stroller but the thought of her getting lost terrifies me!
I tell ya what, if you lose a child, call me on channel 13 sub code 31 on the FRS and I will help you find them! And quite possibly help you slurp down a Strawberry Daquiri after.
But seriously, nothing will happen. Everything will be Irie, Mon!
