When comparing prices, remember that the Swolphin adds a resort fee and also charges for parking.

As far as convenience goes, the Swolphin has the advantage of being walkable to Epcot and the Studios.

Will you have a car?
If no car I would stay at the Swan/Dolphin. I have heard people don't get the disney feeling from staying here if that matters to you. The location is great though!
If you will have a car I would stay at SSR. BTW I love SSR!

I haven't done it, but have you thought about renting points to stay at BCV or BWV? I know lots of people have, and it has been great. That would be the best of both worlds, from my perspective.

If we stay at SSR we would be buying DVC member points. I don't think we will be able to beat the price, hoping to find out today so we can finalize this trip!

When comparing prices remember to include the $14 resort fee at the Dolphin plus the cost of parking. If you don't have a car you will have to pay for a shuttle if staying at the Dolphin. Disney properties all use the magical express. We will be staying at the Swan (starting Saturday) and we arranged through the hotel to have a van pick us up and drop us off and it will cost about $165 for transportation roundtrip to and from the airport ($97 there and $63 back). For us even after all that the Swan was still significantly cheaper so it all depends on how many people are in your party and what kinds of discounts you qualify for.

Even with the parking and resort fee, it was a lot cheaper than staying at any of the other Epcot area resorts. Granted it was the week after Christmas so pricing could be better at the Disney resorts for the time you're going. I actually enjoyed staying at the Dolphin and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! (unless I get a really good discount at the Beach Club).
