Last night, I wish I had a video camera to catch Thumper....so sweet...so brave.....so territorial!! :teeth:

DH gives Thumper cheerios every night. He hand feeds her out of a little ziploc bag. This has been their "thing" for ages now. Normally, all he has to do is show her the bag and she'll hop to him almost instantly. Well, last night, for whatever reason, she was taking her good ol' sweet time making her way over to him (he was laying belly down on the floor). Sabrina, who has watched this interaction for just as long as they have been doing this, noticed Thumper's delay and decided SHE was going to see what was going on, up close and personal. The cat walked up to DH's hand from the across the other side of the room. Thumper spots the cat heading for HER cheerios!! :earseek: I swear, she made it across the living room with 2 large leaps (not hops!!), jumps over DH's hand and now has herself positioned between the cat and the cheerios!! The cat stopped dead in her tracks, but didn't move away. This little ball of fur stands up tall on all fours as high as she can, stretches her neck WAY up there and goes, literally, nose to nose with the cat! :crazy2: Seconds pass for the 2 of them.....noses touching. Finally, a bit disgruntled, the cat turned and walked away, giving Thumper a dirty look over her shoulder. :scared1:

It looked like the battle of David and Goliath....with the smaller taking the victory! ::yes::

Lesson for today is: Don't mess with the bunny's cheerios!! :teacher:

Thank you for the wonderful story this morning!! I can "see" the action in my mind's eye and am smiling and cheering for dear Thumper! Guess I've always liked to see the underdog....er, bunny?..... win!

That must have been so cute. Thank you for the story. I was wondering the other day when we were going to get another Thumper story. I love them.

:p How cute. Our cat is totally afraid of our bunny. Anytime Lil E hops near him the cat makes a beeline for the top of the loveseat. So far Lil E hasnt jumped up on the loveseat but he can hop up on all the other furniture.

CajunDixie,
Your rabbit can make it up to the furniture??!! :earseek: That's quite a jump. :hyper: Is it a domesticated rabbit??

Seeing how Thumper is over 9 months old now (at least, that is how long we have had her...I think she was about a week or 2 when we found her), I assume she is full grown. She didn't get as big as I thought wild rabbits are. She is only about the size of a small guniea pig.

She has another funny trait. I don't know whether she 'thinks' she is talking to us, but if you are holding her and she wants to be put down and you don't, she will pull her head back so that she can look you in the face and her little mouth goes a mile a minute! :earseek: (not like she is chewing....just her mouth is open wider and sometimes, far enough that you can even see her tongue...almost like she would be talking!!) You almost expect sound to be coming out or something! I always say she is giving me "lip"! :teeth:
