DAY ONE ASMo FOOD COURT AND SCI-FI DINE IN

Where to begin? My aunt and I took a big kids vacation and were at WDW from the 25th of November until the 1st of December. I originally had pictures of the food but by about day three I was burned out on that and we ordered some pretty basic stuff at pretty standard Disney restaurants so I don't think this will be lacking. Our plane landed at 9:30 and by the time we got to the hotel and got checked in and everything it was probably 11 and we were starving! We decided not to waste any time and grabbed lunch in our food court, All Star Movies. We both had chicken fingers, french fries and mickey rice krispy treats. Disney has awesome fries! The chicken fingers were good, but nothing to write home about. After lunch we caught the bus over to MGM and got lost there for a few hours before heading over to our dinner reservation at Sci-fi. We checked in there and were seated almost instantly. My aunt and I both opted for chocolate shakes which were good but practically impossible to suck up through a straw they were so thick! For appetizers we ordered onion rings and spinach and artichoke dip. The onion rings came out piping hot and my aunt said they were really good, I don't do onion so I skipped those. The dip was your standard spinach and artichoke with the tortilla chips, good but I like it better with bread. For our entrees I ordered off the lunch menu and got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and my aunt ordered the Reuben and fries. The burger was the best burger I had all week even if I did have a brain fart and order it medium, not sure what I was thinking. My aunt said her Reuben was awesome and had tons of corned beef on it. We ate about half our food. The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, my aunt passed but I ordered the apple pecan cobbler to go minus the ice cream. It smelled absolutely divine during Fantasmic but it had way too much cinnamon in it so I pitched it. Surprisingly enough we were hungry when we got back to the hotel so we grabbed a pepperoni pizza from the food court and split that, mmm I could go for some right now.

DAY TWO COSMIC RAYS AND TONY'S TOWN SQUARE

Day two we had breakfast in the food court OOP, my aunt had the breakfast platter and shared her awesome potatoes and I had a Mickey waffle with sausage, that was the best tasting waffle I've ever had! After breakfast we took off to the Magic Kingdom and made our way through there until lunch landed us at Cosmic Rays. I ordered the cheeseburger, fries and chocolate cake. My aunt had the bacon double cheeseburger, fries, and carrot cake. This would be the second best burger of the week, for the most part though Disney burgers were a let down. The fries were awesome and the cake was really moist with lots of frosting! After killing some more time in the MK it was time for dinner at Tony's! This was the reservation I had been drooling over. We checked in and were seated within 10 minutes. I adore Lady and the Tramp and loved everything about the restaurant, especially the fountain in the middle. Our waitress took our drink order and then came back with bread and some tomato based pesto sauce. This was excellent but would have been better served warm. Appetizer time, my aunt ordered the mussels which she said were good, I thought they looked like boogers. *gag* I ordered the spinach dip again, OMG it was 100 times better than Sci-Fi's and they had pretty good dip. I think the bread made all the difference. For entrees my aunt ordered the spinach and beef cannelloni and I had the spaghetti and meatballs, I should have ordered the cannelloni. When I think of marina sauce it doesn't include chunks, this had lots of tomato and onion in it so I picked around those. My aunt's cannelloni were to die for! I don't know what the sauces on the plate were but they were really good and really rich. Dessert was the best part of this meal, my aunt ordered the ice cream bomb, I was expecting along the lines of an ice cream sundae but instead got a circle of cake with ice cream and a hard chocolate shell, she shared a bite and it was good. I ordered the lemon walnut layer cake. I'd walk back down there for that cake! It was moist white cake with a lemon curd filling and this wonderful vanilla icing. It was served chilled with lemon and raspberry sauce on the plate and had walnuts sprinkled on the top. OMG I'm drooling just thinking about this cake it was that good.

Up next is Le Cellier and Whispering Canyon Cafe

DAY THREE LE CELLIER

Tuesday was our day in Epcot, we skipped breakfast and grabbed granola bars on our way to the bus. We had a boring lunch of McDonald's OOP before heading over to World Showcase. We tooled through there and checked everything out, I'm so kicking myself for not getting a sweet pretzel from Norway, they looked so good! We timed it so that by the time we got over to Canada it would be time for our reservation at Le Cellier. We were once again seated almost instantly, I forget what section we sat in but it was back by the bathroom, lol. I started with a chocolate raspberry shake, two thumbs up, and my aunt had a diet coke. We both ordered the cheese soup but I wish I had ordered the duck. My aunt thought the soup was great, I took one spoonful and pushed it aside. For our entrees we both ordered the maple barbecue filet with the cream cheese mashed potatoes. Best steak I've had in a very long time! Don't let the maple barbecue fool you, I didn't taste any maple and there was just a hint of barbecue. We ate every bite! For desert my aunt had the smores and I ordered the chocolate moose. My aunt said the smores were ok but kind of hard to eat. My moose was divine! Just as I was taking his little cookie tongue out a waiter walked by "noo don't eat me!" Le Cellier definitely lived up to its reputation, I wouldn't insist on eating there again but it was a good meal!

DAY FOUR WHISPERING CANYON CAFE

Wednesday we spent the day in the Animal Kingdom, for some strange reason we had McDonald's for the second day in a row for lunch. In our defense though AK doesn't offer a lot for CS and we were having barbecue for dinner. Animal Kingdom was relatively uneventful, finding WCC however proved to be an adventure. We got off at Fort Wilderness by mistake and then had to figure out how to get over to Wilderness Lodge. One bus and a friendly driver later we were there. We checked in and they gave us a beeper, by the time we found two empty chairs in the lobby it went off, go figure! I had been thinking about the skillet all week long and was ready to tackle it. Our waitress came and took our appetizer order and dinner order at the same time, I had the cheese and sausage plate and my aunt had the salad that comes with the skillet. The cheese and sausage plate was great although I could have done with a little less of whatever they sprinkled on top of it, that had some kick! The waitress said the only rule was that I had to try the cheese, sausage and crackers dipped in barbecue sauce, I was iffy on it but I tried it and it was really good! For our entrees my aunt got the skillet and I changed my mind at the last minute and ordered the roast chicken with potatoes and green beans. My aunt shared parts of her skillet with me and I'm glad I didn't order it, I wasn't overly impressed. She thought the pulled pork was the best thing ever and the shrimp were good but she declared them to be too much work to peel. I tried the pork and thought it was ok, the ribs were dry. My roast chicken was really good but there was no way I was going to finish 4 pieces of chicken, a mound of potatoes and green beans. Our waitress asked if we were on the dining plan and if we'd been at Disney for a couple days. She said you can always tell when people are on the DDP and it's there first day or two, they order appetizer, entree and dessert and try and finish it all. She said it's like being on a cruise ship, "oh it's been an hour, feed me!" We just laughed and agreed, the dining plan is a ton of food! That being said we ordered dessert, My aunt had the carmel apple pie and I had the dustbowl. They were both good but I though the bananas would have been better had they been carmelized or something, it was just a little weird eating plain bananas.

Up next, Breakfast at Cinderella's castle

DAY SIX CINDERELLA'S ROYAL TABLE

We were up early Friday morning for our much anticipated breakfast at Cinderella's castle. We made it to the park in plenty of time but were greeted with some confusion. Apparently there's a special entrance for people who have reservations for before the park opens and we missed it along with everyone else! The man standing at that entrance was getting rather grumpy with everyone. Once we finally got in they were taping the Christmas parade so we had cast members directing us every which way. We made it to the castle with about 15 minutes to spare. We registered and then got in line for our picture with Cinderella, the line was fairly short and she was more interested in all the little kids, no big deal, I don't need to be fawned over by Cindy. We went upstairs to the dining room and were seated right away. Our waitress came over and took our drink order and asked if we wanted the hot plate or the cold plate, definitely the hot plate! She came back with drinks and a bread basket filled with pastries and muffins and other yummies along with a giant fruit cup that went untouched. Our breakfast came out shortly after that, eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon and stuffed french toast. The eggs were kinda gross, and I didn't touch the potatoes they looked, well gross. They reminded me of scalloped potatoes and I don't really like those, my aunt said they were good though. My eggs tasted kind of slimy but I ate some of them. The bacon was good and the sausages were huge and delicious. I figured the french toast would be your standard french toast but it was stuffed with a cream cheese filling and topped with blueberries, divine! It was an all you can eat breakfast but after one plate we'd had all we could eat. We left the park after breakfast because we were coming back that night for MMCP, we decided to head to Downtown Disney. We tooled around down there for a while and then went back to the hotel for a much needed nap and to freshen up before going out again. When we went back that night we had 2 counter services and four snacks to be used up before we left the next morning. There weren't a ton of counter service options open so we got hot dogs at Casey's. The dogs were good but we sat next to the dreaded ducks! :scared1: I'm absolutely terrified of birds and spent the entire meal building a chair fortress around the table and saying "shoo duck!" They kept sticking their heads through the fence and I'm certain they were going to bite given the opportunity. Ok maybe not but it wasn't fun. We used up our snack credits on an ice cream cone and a float at Auntie Gravity's and for a funnel cake and a pop during the parade that night. Overall we never had a terrible meal but some were definitely better than others. I haven't looked at the 2008 dining plan yet but 2007 was definitely a deal and the dinners always made it a great deal.

I have to try the cake! I am Fanatical about two things...1) WDW and 2) CAKE!!!!!!!!!:cake:

I just realized I skipped an entire day! Probably because it was nothing but counter service but they deserve reviews too! Thursday we didn't have any plans for dinner or parks so we just winged it. We had an OOP breakfast in our food court, my aunt and I both had the breakfast platter, I should have stuck with the Mickey waffle. I'm not a huge fan of plain scrambled eggs so I'm not sure why I got the platter but aside from the dry eggs it was ok. We spent the morning at the pool and then had lunch in the food court again because we had decided to go to MGM and their counter service selection didn't look promising. I had pizza, juice and a Mickey rice krispy bar. The pizza was the same that we'd had for a snack earlier in the week but it was good pizza. My aunt opted for the chicken fingers and fries again along with a krispy bar. After lunch we went over to MGM and did the stuff we had missed on Sunday along with repeating Muppets 3D, I was in heaven! We had stopped at ABC Commisary for a pop on Sunday and my aunt wanted to go back for the Cuban Sandwich for dinner, against my better judgement I agreed. Big mistake. My aunt changed her mind and had the fish and chips and I ordered the ABC burger, absolutely disgusting! I had about 4 bites and then I ate my fries and chocolate mousse. The fries were good, the mousse was ok. We should have went to Pizza Planet. My aunt said her fish was good and I think she had the strawberry parfait for dessert, she said it was ok. I know I never mentioned any snacks but we didn't really have anything out of the usual, just ice cream bars, there were a couple days we didn't use them so we had to use up a few in the end. We did use a snack credit at Main Street Bakery to get breakfast for the next day, we got there late though and it was a little picked over but we each got a huge apple turnover for breakfast. The apples were still crunchy which I don't like but other than that it was pretty good. The best snack though I paid OOP for at Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney. I had a rice krispy bar dipped in dark chocolate, Oreos and drizzled with white chocolate, delicious! Ok, I think I've covered everything now. I'm ready to plan my next trip!
