DAY ONE ASMo FOOD COURT AND SCI-FI DINE IN
Where to begin? My aunt and I took a big kids vacation and were at WDW from the 25th of November until the 1st of December. I originally had pictures of the food but by about day three I was burned out on that and we ordered some pretty basic stuff at pretty standard Disney restaurants so I don't think this will be lacking. Our plane landed at 9:30 and by the time we got to the hotel and got checked in and everything it was probably 11 and we were starving! We decided not to waste any time and grabbed lunch in our food court, All Star Movies. We both had chicken fingers, french fries and mickey rice krispy treats. Disney has awesome fries! The chicken fingers were good, but nothing to write home about. After lunch we caught the bus over to MGM and got lost there for a few hours before heading over to our dinner reservation at Sci-fi. We checked in there and were seated almost instantly. My aunt and I both opted for chocolate shakes which were good but practically impossible to suck up through a straw they were so thick! For appetizers we ordered onion rings and spinach and artichoke dip. The onion rings came out piping hot and my aunt said they were really good, I don't do onion so I skipped those. The dip was your standard spinach and artichoke with the tortilla chips, good but I like it better with bread. For our entrees I ordered off the lunch menu and got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and my aunt ordered the Reuben and fries. The burger was the best burger I had all week even if I did have a brain fart and order it medium, not sure what I was thinking. My aunt said her Reuben was awesome and had tons of corned beef on it. We ate about half our food. The waitress asked if we wanted dessert, my aunt passed but I ordered the apple pecan cobbler to go minus the ice cream. It smelled absolutely divine during Fantasmic but it had way too much cinnamon in it so I pitched it. Surprisingly enough we were hungry when we got back to the hotel so we grabbed a pepperoni pizza from the food court and split that, mmm I could go for some right now.
DAY TWO COSMIC RAYS AND TONY'S TOWN SQUARE
Day two we had breakfast in the food court OOP, my aunt had the breakfast platter and shared her awesome potatoes and I had a Mickey waffle with sausage, that was the best tasting waffle I've ever had! After breakfast we took off to the Magic Kingdom and made our way through there until lunch landed us at Cosmic Rays. I ordered the cheeseburger, fries and chocolate cake. My aunt had the bacon double cheeseburger, fries, and carrot cake. This would be the second best burger of the week, for the most part though Disney burgers were a let down. The fries were awesome and the cake was really moist with lots of frosting! After killing some more time in the MK it was time for dinner at Tony's! This was the reservation I had been drooling over. We checked in and were seated within 10 minutes. I adore Lady and the Tramp and loved everything about the restaurant, especially the fountain in the middle. Our waitress took our drink order and then came back with bread and some tomato based pesto sauce. This was excellent but would have been better served warm. Appetizer time, my aunt ordered the mussels which she said were good, I thought they looked like boogers. *gag* I ordered the spinach dip again, OMG it was 100 times better than Sci-Fi's and they had pretty good dip. I think the bread made all the difference. For entrees my aunt ordered the spinach and beef cannelloni and I had the spaghetti and meatballs, I should have ordered the cannelloni. When I think of marina sauce it doesn't include chunks, this had lots of tomato and onion in it so I picked around those. My aunt's cannelloni were to die for! I don't know what the sauces on the plate were but they were really good and really rich. Dessert was the best part of this meal, my aunt ordered the ice cream bomb, I was expecting along the lines of an ice cream sundae but instead got a circle of cake with ice cream and a hard chocolate shell, she shared a bite and it was good. I ordered the lemon walnut layer cake. I'd walk back down there for that cake! It was moist white cake with a lemon curd filling and this wonderful vanilla icing. It was served chilled with lemon and raspberry sauce on the plate and had walnuts sprinkled on the top. OMG I'm drooling just thinking about this cake it was that good.
