Its been over 1 whole year since we last went to WDW and I have not really had the heart to come on the boards as I am jealous of everybody going. Well the drought is offically over. Having discussed with DH he has agreed that we can go this year

Normally we just go with Virgin on a package but this time we have decided to branch out and booked everything separate.

We have now decided to fly with virgin (I think that by far they are the best airline for the baggage allowance (the $ rate at the mo is too good an opporrtunity - plenty of shopping, online check-in and Downtown check in), I have spoken to WDW and managed to get free dining with my hotel and ticket all I need to do now is arrange the car hire which is where you all come in. As I have said I have never booked separate before so was hoping some experts out there could give me some advise as to who to book with etc etc

Really excited......Going for just over 2 weeks end of Aug / Sept

Hi there
Sounds like you're ready to go!!!
I have been searching for car hire too for upcoming trip - recommendations from this board usually include Airline network - which have come in at good prices for me with Dollar. Make sure when booking that your car hire firm is on site (quite a few are) as this is always easier.

Welcome back. I think we all know that horrible 'got nothing booked' feeling so we can all sympathise with you.

As far as car hire goes, we have only done it once but used www.usrentacar.co.uk

The only thing I would say is to make sure you opt for their highest insurance option (gold cover, I think it is). We had a slight problem back in February where we chose the next option down as the only difference was that the higher option included a free tank of gas. Being hire car virgins, we didn;t realise that meant we were supposed to return the car with an empty tank and the hire car company (Dollar) could then charge us an exortionate amount ($65) for a tank of gas.

It got sorted in the end but we learned a lesson

Hope you have a great trip. We are going the end of August too, flying out around 19th/20th :thumbsup2
