It's been 6 years, but we're finally going back: a PTR! UPDATED 2/9 change to August dates?

We get 2 checked bags each with SouthWest, so we might as well take advantage of it . Plus I always overpack, I freely admit it. This time I may have bought 12 new shirts for each kids and almost as many for me and my husband.

The whole packing for 12 days when the weather can be anything from shorts to jacket, hats and gloves doesn't help since I have to pack some of both. Nothing like packing your swim suits on top of your gloves.

1 Day! 1 Day! 1 Day!


Did I mention 1 day! I will try to get pictures of all the luggage once I wake up. Suitcases are packed. I will make the minions do their backpacks after we do schoolwork tomorrow morning. I am still debating if I am a mean Mom and make their bring their Math books or if I give them a break. I'm leaning towards mean, even though I know Math is unlikely to be done. I need to find a notebook for minion 2 to journal her trip with. I'd like minion 1 to do it too, but getting him to write that much isn't likely to happen. Minion 1 does have Hebrew that we will take with us and I am taking lit, just not sure if we will take Math or not. I didn't really give them a holiday break, so I totally could leave Math home. Still debating it.

I checked in with SouthWest. We got A60, and B1, 3 - 5 for boarding. Which means attriel will do A boarding with the car seats and we'll follow with family boarding, yes we are totally those people that do family boarding and don't get Early Bird (we actually did get Early Bird on the flight home). Since after packing last night we decided we're bringing 2 car seats, so we might as well use them on the plane. Was hoping to get away with 1 car seat and a high back booster, but he booster took up way too much luggage space.

Their backpacks are now all mostly packed, though I may go through minion 1 and 3's and pull out some of the Disney Infinity characters they are taking.

I really don't want to take them to dance today. I think I'm already on vacation time. We'll see if we go or not.

Anyways here is my mound of suitcases:

The small dark blue one with many colored pockets is minion 3's. It is our carryon suitcase the rest will be checked. It holds our bathing suits and a change of clothing for everyone just in case.

0 DAYS! No Days! It is today, well once I wake up, but still today!

I ended up with one more suitcase. It has the leftover snacks we had grabbed for the kids' bags, some books and a few other things in it. It should be mostly empty to put stuff in at the end, which will be nice. The kids' backpacks are packed, my and attriel backpacks are packed. We need to throw in various electronics and cords in the morning, but we are ready!

My FIL will be here around 10 to take us to the airport so we don't have to pay parking for 12 days. The children are tucked all snug in their beds while visions of Mickey Mouse dance in their heads. I have everyone's clothes selected and ready to go. I think knock on wood, we are ready for this adventure 6+ years in the making! We're going to Disney! We're going to Disney!

I am planning to be eating this or something similar tomorrow night:

I promise to try to take food pictures at least in the beginning, I am not sure how I will handle my entire family looking at me oddly if I do it once we're all together, then again they look at me oddly anyways, so I'll try then too.

I can't wait to drive through these gates tomorrow afternoon:

The children are all dressed and ready to go. We're waiting on my FIL to get here and we'll be off to the airport in about 90 minutes!

They didn't believe me when I told them we were going to Dentist World rather then Disney World. The girl minion did tell me that it sounded "toothy" though. I am so proud of her pun.

We are here. We went to Disney Spring this evening. TRex was great. We got our dessert for free (I'll trip report when I get home).

We tried on hats. Minion 3 got a Mike one which amuses me since minion 3's name is Sully.

We went to Goofy's and made treats for breakfast. Now the minions are passed out and attriel is exploring the resort.

My feet my poor abused feet.

We had a great time at EPCOT. We got a couple of magic shots. I checked the photo pass this evening to make sure everything was there it is.

The kids loved Chef Mickey's. The food was better then expected except the no bake strawberry cheesecake (just don't). Then again my standards going in was, i hope it's edible. It passed that. That being said we're doing breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on Saturday. I cancelled the Chef Mickey's breakfast. We'll do it again, just not this trip.

@Elevationist my husband saw the Disney bag you got, I told him I wanted one. He bought me a Disney backpack for $30 instead. Oh well we did get a fun backpack.


Magic Kingdom and prepark BOG tomorrow. Plus a late CRT lunch.

Oh and apparently we have 3 more people joining us Sunday and Monday making it a total of 19! Thanks for the last minute warning people. I'm doing nothing they'll either be able to be squeezed in our lunch or they'll figure something out. I already added 5 more to the Sunday lunch. I'm not dealing with Monday and them either.

Oh and my Mom wanted to see if I could get her and my Dad FP+ for Saturday at EPCOT. I told her no. We've already gotten FP+ for all her ticket days. I'm not cancelling a planned day so she can deal with my neice. They'll just have to wait in lines and add another ticket day or 2 when they get to the park. This is why I told her to get 6 days rather then 5, but she insisted 5 was fine.

He gets so excited when he sees a character coming he starts dancing. Cutest thing ever. He also jumps up and down continuously when a character is signing his autograph book because he's so excited.

Today's preview. Desmond made an awesome Beast in Belle's Storytime and Eloise was a cute teapot.

Lots of princess got cheek kisses from Desmond.

They all loved 7 Dwarfs.

Pants tore on It's a Small World.

Desmond opened and closed the park, go kid!

Oh we maybe be completing changing our plans for tomorrow. I'm not sure how much we'll enjoy Animal Kingdom in the pouring rain. We may make it our down day and risk AK on Satirday instead for the afternoon. Since we won't ride Everest or Dinosaur I'm not too worried about the high crowds expected, my biggest worry is if there are any afternoon FP+ left for Safari.

We're not making a decision until we actually see the weather. A bit of rain we'll probably go. A torrential downpour we'll probably down day it.

It was wet. Like my jeans up to my knees got wetwsing through a huge puddle wet. That being said we did a lazy day at Animal Kingdom. Only did about half the park but everyone had fun. We got 13ish attractions done in 5 1/2 hours though 3 of those were Dino dumbo, 3 were primeval whirl and 2 were the safari.

Sanaa was amazing. We are so going back next trip, maybe even in August.

Everyone had fun on our quieter 16,000 step day.




We had a few changes to our plans starting tomorrow. My neice is staying all week now and my cousin isn't coming because she's an idiot.

Quick 2 day updates once it's late and I'm tired and we have to get up early for our DHS day tomorrow so we can do Jedi training academy.

Saturday we ended up with a park day. So much for that whole down day thing. We also ended up waking 6 billion miles to get to Goofy's candy shop to use up our last 2 snack and last 4 counter device create before midnight. Disney spring on a weekend night is not fun. It is way too many people.




Today. Yeah remember how I mentioned that after my last trip with extended family I said never again? I am not sure why I didn't listen to myself. Actually it went decently. Everyone had fun. I am really really really glad that we have done about 90% of the things we wanted to at MK before the whole crew arrived though.

There is so much wasted time with 18 people. There is also random walking all over because people don't think to ask if something makes sense or was planned for a different time or day.

Fortunately having done the things we wanted already it isn't a huge deal. But we so would have dobe our day differently if we had been without others. Plus side everyone had a ton of fun.

I do think we will split up more going forward. 18 people together is about 17 too many.
