Hello everyone! First time here and I'm so happy this board exists. Anyways, yea it's been a while since I've been to Disneyland and next week I'll be visiting the park with my family. I have a 4 year old son and it's his first time, so you can imagine how excited we are. I've already figured out that he'll be able to go on about 70% of the rides, which is good but I was wondering if anyone who has been there recently, can you help me with some questions? I wanted to know are there strollers to rent there? And can anybody give me a head's up about "Mickey's Halloween Party", what it consist in?? Finally, it will be my husbands first time visiting since he originally is from Chile and I think if he hears me say one more thing about DSNLD he'll blow up...but one thing I insist on with him is that we have to stay until it closes(12-midnight!!!) Can someone please back me up on this!!! I don't know how to get him to believe me when I say that the park is Huuuge!

Thanks!!!!! :butterfly :cheer2:

first of all welcome to the boards susann :goodvibes and congrats on your trip to disneyland.....as far as stroller rentals, yes you can rent strollers for about $8 per day...you can get them just to the right of the turnstiles after entering the park...you will see them all out there in rows...as far as Mickeys Halloween Party...do you already have the additional tickets for it? I know they are sold out alot of nights already...read some of the posts on the boards...people have been writing about their experiences with it :goodvibes hope you have a great time :thumbsup2

Congratulations Susan! You're going to have so much fun!

Strollers are readily available, but you can't take them out of the park. Your ds is 4, so maybe not as big a deal as with younger kids, but you will have to get him out of the stroller at the front gate and haul him back to the parking lot tram/shuttle bus/hotel. Of course if you're driving or taking a hotel shuttle, you'll have to get him out then anyway, not to mention fold up and haul the stroller on the tram/bus with you. If you're at a walking distance/Disney hotel, you may want to have your own stroller for the ride home, likely with a sleeping child. Having your own stroller also comes in handy if you want to visit downtown Disney or park-hop. (If I recall, you only have to pay once a day, then just show your receipt at the other park to receive another stroller, but you will have to unload, walk across the entry area, and re-load once inside the other park.)

Can't help you on the Halloween stuff, but I'll second staying until midnight! My dh says that nighttime is the most "magical" time of day because of all the lights, fireworks, nighttime parades, etc. In fact, on more than a few occasions, he hasn't even made it into the park until nearly dark. (The kids and I, on the other hand, like to be there at opening to max out on the rides. But then we like to escape for an afternoon break.) So tell your hubby to stick it out until closing, even if it means having some downtime during the afternoon.

What time during December are you going to Disneyland? We are going the first week and we also live in Vancouver, WA (the state, not Canada or DC). We went last year during Thanksgiving and we are hoping the first week of December will be a little less busy.

Have a great trip! We are driving, so that should be interesting with a 2, 11 and 12 year old!

yes, have some fun!

dont forget to shop main street last... they close 1 hour later than the rest of the park... ie 1AM :)

Hi Susann!

Welcome to the DIS!

Do you have a Disney VISA? If so, your stroller rental is free.

You absolutely MUST stay until closing! Some of my most romantic memories are sitting on Main Street sharing a hot cocoa and a bakery dessert with DH while the kids slept in the strollers!!!

If you want to go to the Halloween Party at DCA, you need to buy your tickets immediately, as some nights are already sold out!

I'll be there next weekend, as well! Can't wait!! :hourglass

Not sure about the halloween thing, but yes there are stroller rentals on the right hand side as you first walk through the main gates.

Have a fantastic time, and dont let your husband get you down about mentioning DLND too much. I didnt shut up about it either. Its so exciting. Have a fantastic time.

17 yrs.WOW,you might notice a 'few' changes. ;)

Have a GOOD time though. :cool1:
