Would you let it be an indoor/outdoor cat?

The breeder told us it is meant to be kept indoors because people would steal it. We were also told the same thing about our Siamese cat.

That was at the Royal Melbourne Show. The breeder was letting all the people touch the cat.

That cat in the picture is 2 years old. Not much bigger than that....maybe it gets bigger sideways.

The cat breed is called Bengal. It has tiger stripes and has an actual pelt; not fur.

We normally also go for mutts that we "rescued" or more correctly, "mutts" find me for rescuing.

I've "attracted" about 4 dogs (of the canine variety) and 2 cats in the last 20 years. Sadly, our lifestyle doesn't allow us to keep dogs and I really am more a doggy person than a cat person.

We've kept both cats....Moses, the white garfield sized one, is still with us. He's about 7 years old and was dumped outside our house. Mixie - our other cat - was not dumped. She came courtesy of an acquaintance...her cat had a litter and they were getting rid of the kittens. We adopted her. The other dumped cat, I found outside our apartment when we were first married. She is long gone to kitty heaven.

The Siamese was the first real 'breed' cat I've ever had. I just love their blue eyes and had promised myself I was going to get one in my lifetime.

The Bengal? I think DH just loves the thought of a Bengal in the house.

Thanks. I do need to sleep soon that way I do not oversleep and get any more speeding tickets for rushing to my next appt. The last ticket I got was the morning of one appt, and I have another one tomorrow.

Mine just loads and loads and keeps loading. Then I refresh it and 1 of 3 times it loads once and for all.

That was definitely happening to me between 10 am and 2 pm; which is why I gave up. It always seems a lot easier to post at this time of day.

Hmm, you got me thinking. I haven't seen dogs or cats for sale in a long time. In my mall the petstore closed 10 or more years ago. Pet Smart only has the cats for adoption and Petco might have puppies though I'm not sure if they are for adoption or buying.

I did have a GF who's parents breed show dogs, Jack Russel Terriers. Which I thought were better suited to kill varmits.

I've never had a pet...not even a goldfish...but I think I'm more a dog person. I like that cats are more able to look after themselves...as in they don't need walking...but I think I'd prefer a dog...

Sometimes the coyotes keep me up. One reason I look forward to the snow is that it makes everything quielty hushed.

I can't imagine life without kitties, but I've had them almost all my life. When I moved out in college, I couldn't wait to move out of the dorms after my first year to an apartment where i could have a cat.

You would be amazed at how much a pet can enrich your life. They are a big responsibility but I love my kitties!
